What impressed me is how clean the public areas were especially on the upper level. There's even a stationary bike charging station for your phone which was fun. This mall is a bit south of the tourist area but convenient if you are in the Kazimerz area (and of course the trams/buses go there too).

Upstairs there is a cinema and in the same vicinity various food outlets. My particular favourites include North Fish (especially when I have coupons) and KFC. There is an American-themed restaurant, Jeff's, where you can enjoy live music at weekends. Also upstairs (in another wing of the mall) there is Grycan for various ice cream desserts, coffee etc.

At times the cinema and adjoining McDonald's can become overrun by kids. Pink Bowling is really good fun and can work out quite cheap if you book on the right day or many to take advantage of the student discount. I would rate this shopping centre as a 5, but McDonald's used to have a lovely view over the lake, but now a gym is in the way. Now you have to run rather than eat a burger to get that view ;) Also the range of shops is a bit limited when compared to some of the larger shopping centres.

(in some respects I guess you can compare it to Lidl) I also love their yummy straight-out-of-the-oven wholemeal bread, this particular brand of greek yoghurt they have and the surimi, no to to mention the cheap alcohol. I may be overreacting now, but doing my grocery shopping here gives me heaps of happiness. I leave with a smile on my face from the bargains I've made100% of the time with my hands full of Biedronka-bags and wallet full of zlotys that I'll spend on something else. *winning at life*

It reminded me of an Aldi, meaning they have pretty much everything you need but no frills. There's a good sized produce area and a butcher/ meat counter plus plenty of pre packed stuff. Prices are very reasonable! I found 1.5L bottles of mineral water for US .16 (that's right, sixteen cents) and decent bottles of wine for under US $6. Half liter beer cans were in the .35-.75 US range. Much to our delight, this Biedronka stocks several kinds of paprika chips so we had delicious snacks as well. Staff isn't especially friendly but I wouldn't expect them to be.

The name literally translates to "Mister, That's Not Your Spot!" which is a direct reference to the tradition of queuing everywhere to get your ration(s) when Poland was a communist state: People's Republic of Poland (PRL). The strength of PTNS is its repurposing/repackaging of old Polish designs, relying heavily on nostalgia and playing with the polish language. For example, one of their most popular designs is a t-shirt with the word "Dziadostwo", meaning 'trash' or something of shady quality. They've been releasing a new version of the same word for years now! I myself have four "Dziadostwo" t-shirts hanging in my closet as we speak... I think that's enough for one lifetime though, no? Anyways, many of the articles of clothing are all about a single word (ex. "ziarno" (grain), "naleśniki" (crepes), "remont" (renovation)) or a funky phrase (ex. "Wielki Elektownik" (The Big Electrician), "Działka moje hobby" (My garden is my hobby", "Zimny drań" (Cold-stoned bastard) or some kinda pattern. They draw their strength & appeal from the simplicity of it. This particular store is on the smaller side but it's packed to the max with PTNS goods. If you don't see something in your size, simply ask the retail person. She/he will be more then happy to assist. The only downside to this space that there's only one changing room, and sometime you might need to wait a bit. So if you're looking for pants, socks, backpacks, totes, baseball caps, pins, books, pencils, scarves, mugs - and then some - this is the place.. Get something practical & unique from the city of Krak! P.S. They have a loyalty program, for every 59zł spent you get a stamp, a total of 10 stamps gets you a free t-shirt.
