Many neighbors in our building suggested trying a daycare by 16th street (not to mention names) long story short it was a disaster, kids were so sick and the behavior I observed dropping off my boy made me feel guilty. After a year of nightmares was finally over and we were looking at new schools. We started to look at Montessori's, went through 3 interviews. Some required our 2 year old to wipe his own behind and other prided them selves in explaining that most parents picked their kids up in rolls royces. Our 3rd interview was with Mia Piccolo, after 5 minutes we knew our choice was made up. We are finishing our second year and I can't say I had 1 complaint. To get an idea I'm the most overprotective parent and always overthink like most parents with their firs born. This baby university is absolutely amazing, our munchkin is learning more than I imagined, plus they offer Tennis, soccer, yoga and much more... I never thought I would review a baby college but here I am.

Unfortunately, the ownership and management are very disappointing and overshadow the positives. Activities get canceled (such as music) with no communication to parents. There is constant penny-pinching -- parents are repeatedly given long shopping lists (30+ items) for small things like napkins and supplies, even when bringing food. Costs go up every year, yet services and activities continue to be reduced. When concerns are raised, Ms. Meybis shows little interest in resolving them. Each complaint is met with the same reaction, and no real action is ever taken. It's frustrating to see tuition increase while the quality and offerings decrease year after year. Because of this, we ultimately chose to leave. I would strongly recommend parents look elsewhere -- Kinuvu on 22nd is a much better option.

We did a tour and liked a school,and we were pretty satisfied with a year our two year old completed here. We decided to continue,but this year is a different story. Actually a friend of mine whose kid was in different class,pulled her kid before this school year,pointing out that school has some issues. I don't know if that's because the director changed or the school run out of money,but activities became so limited.Most of the days kids just doing coloring and painting,not much of diverse materials are used even though you pay for it.Last year was much better regarding this.Curriculum missing some creativity. This year there have been zero field trips even though they were promised. Instead of taking kids to a museum tour as a field trip,they invite you(it's optional activity)to bring your kids on the weekend for a museum tour and charge you like 60$ per ticket.Ridiculous. Christmas party that was planned for a while was basically a bounce house. Other important thing,they are short on staff. The pictures of daily kids activities are posted on the app not very often.For that I don't blame the teacher(my kid teacher is great by the way,knowledgeable,passionate and caring and we really like her),but she is by herself most of the times so obviously can't do everything. On the good note,the school is very clean,super safe,everyone is friendly,the atmosphere is great,front desk ladies are amazing,very communicative and always there for any questions,ready to help you out with a smile. My kid's teacher is amazing as well,she pours all of her heart in care for the children. He made great friends and in a short period of time (5 months) he's learned so much, it's unbelievable to me! Unfortunately we are moving to another city and honestly, the saddest part for me has been withdrawing my son from BIA. I love how involved parents can be (I sure was!) and the learning environment is fantastic. My son and I have nothing but great memories to take with us from BIA and can only hope that his next preschool is remotely close to how awesome BIA is. They offer a family type environment, their staff are kind, loving and very hands with all the students. As expected, the experience of going to a new place without mommy and daddy was probably more traumatic for us than him. The staff immediately was very welcoming and warm and you could tell they really really liked kids and weren't just babysitting. After that first parting, the only tears chase shed were when it was time to say goodbye to his teachers and new friends when we came to pick him up at the end of a day. It is easy to get him excited about each new school day because each day brings a new activity or theme or experience. After school, he proudly displays his art and sings songs and really frankly plays better with other kids in the park. The teachers always have a warm smile when we drop him off or pick him up and give us a detailed progress report on his behavior torwards them and the other kids. This helps us sort through any issues that arise during his time there. The facility is very safe and secure and they have really gone the extra mile to get the best toys and art materials. I can't count the number of days chase has shown knowledge or new words (Spanish or english) that he said came from his wonderful teachers. We have met strangers in the park who were not very excited about their children's current schools and have never hesitated to glowingly recommend Play and Learn. Many of them are now his fellow students and new best friends. I can only say to prospective parents to get in now before the classes fill up or rates go up as the word gets out and demand goes through the roof. After this incident Andrea the director,had the audacity to tell us he was only left unattended on a boppy on the floor for 29 seconds... imagine? The cameras that we thought would show us exactly what proceeded to happen, mysteriously only had one angle.. parents please be more careful, ask questions, don't let the glitz and the glamour fool you! DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY!
