MD Claiborne was the 3rd one I called as the first two could not see me the same day. -They do not have a parking for the patients so street parking only. -As the other Yelper said, the waiting room and office look old but at this point, I do not care about the aesthetic of this place as long as the doctor fixes my face -Staff members are super friendly -As the other Yelper said, my visit was short but my flare up got better everyday and it went away completely in a week - Here is one thing I really appreciated about this doctor: I have heard of so many nightmare stories where dermatologists try to push you into buying their own skincare line that costs an arm and a leg. I was recently told by a friend that her dermatologist saw her via Zoom call and sold her a face cream that cost $100 which was not that great either... When I asked Dr. Clairborne for a moisturizer recommendation for my sensitive and highly inflamed skin at that time, all he sold me was a... plain jane VANICREAM that costs like $10 for a huge bottle. He said he recommends vanicream as he thinks this does a great job of moisturizing. He prescribed me two things which was a oral antibiotics and a cleanser but re-wrote a prescription for the cleanser next day just to keep my out of pocket cost low. I asked so many questions to his staff for a few days after my visit but they answered my email in a timely manner. In a nutshell, I liked this doctor because 1. he did fix my issue and 2. he tried to lower the cost from my end. I mean do you really need more than that from a dermatologist? But after letting them know what happened and the way it was handled I am so disgusted IDC about how they feel cause CLEARLY THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ME OR MY WELL-BEING. HERE GOES....I initionally was sent to this "Med spa" (I use the term loosely) to have my lips and some botox for the first time. My experiences here have never been smooth sailing but ultimately I really like Katherine so I continued to do botox with her and on July 9th HAD an appt for my lips, 2nd time, and botox, 3rd time. Well I had an email from them about on sale dermablading and work very hard so I said ok ill treat myself. The appt was great, I really enjoyed getting to know Charli a little better and they had a super sweet girl in there I had never met so I got to meet her as well. Charli even turned me on to the Color Science voodoo 50 SPF tinted moisturizer, which I bought and ABSOLUTELY LOVE. WELL let's fast forward 3-4 days later and my face was extremely swollen, looked almost like an abcess had formed where I had a blemish that wasn't all the way healed when I went in for my dermablading. Noone said it was an issue so i didn't think it was. Boy was I WRONGGGGGGGG. MY FACE WAS SO SWOLLEN, refer to pictures, on the fourth/fifth day after I had no choice but to go ro Urgent care cause I didn't want to go to the er but it was Sunday and I had to go somewhere. Of course I was right. I had a staph infection on my face. I was given a steroid shot in my hip a steroid to take a home and also Bactrum antibiotic. On Monday is when I went ahead and reached out. So much is wrong with how this place handled me. For one the ONLY person I was allowed to talk to, complain to, was the person that actually did the procedure, Charli. She was apologetic said she would call Katherine and get back to me. At this point i would've bet my life Katherine was gonna call me and so we could talk about this BIG ISSUE. WELL, THANK GOD I didn't bet anyone cause it was actually, you guessed it, Charli thar called me back to say these things happen unfortunately and they would give me my $65 back if I would like. I just had to laugh and hang up. NO LOVE YOU CAN KEEP YHE $65, OBVIOUSLY Y'ALL NEED IT MORE THAN ME. AND im sure there is some truth to the whole, these things happen. BUT YOU KNOW WHERE IR DOESNT HAPPEN?!?!? CLEAN PLACES!! YOU DIDNT JUST GIVE ME AN INFECTION, YOU GAVE ME A STAPH INFECRION ON MY FACE RIGHT BY MY MOUTH. NOT ONLY DID I HAVE TO PAY ALMOST $400 FOR urgent care and prescriptions, had to miss 2 days of work cause I can NOT work like that, see pictures, couldn't kiss my kids, still can't kiss my handsome husband because I am terrified I'll pass something onto one of them. But sure I need my $65 back. A joke really. The WORST PART OUT OF ALL OF THIS ISNT THAT THEY OFFERED ME $65, INSULT, ITS THAT AT NO POINT IN TIME DID SHE ASK IF I NEEDED ANYTHING OR IF I MAYBE WANTED KATHERINE TO HAVE A LOOK AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING EITHER OF THEM COULD DO. The nurses were very sweet, but when Dr. Coleman came in, he seemed irritated I was back and in a rush? He flashed his mirror standing 5 feet away from me and told me what he thought was the problem with my lip - I said how do you know for sure? (Since he was standing so far away and took a half of a second with the flash of his mirror toward me) he really said "just like you know that that's a chair" and pointed to the chair my little boy was sitting in. I couldn't believe the condescending tone and coldness he emitted In that moment. Frankly, it confirms my feelings about doctors and how ego driven they can be. He tried to leave the room in a hurry and I had to stop him to mention the other issues I came in for, surely they were written down beforehand by the nurses? I have a stye that hasnt gone away after about a month, told me since I am nursing I will have to wait because only doxycycline will help. Not true, there are plenty of antibiotics that are safe for nursing mothers. I will be going to my GP for an amoxicillin script. All in all, it was clear that me being there was a huge inconvenience to him. I will not be back.
