UPDATE As I mentioned below, the staff refused service to me -- and now I've received a cancellation email stating, "you will be charged a $25 late cancellation fee." Looking back at the entire interaction, I realize that the staff member, Margarite, seemed to want me out of the clinic even before we began speaking. I was sitting there after removing my makeup and taking the required photos -- already feeling vulnerable since I'm usually self-conscious about my dark spots -- when she came out from behind the desk and, from a distance, asked, "What do you want?" I replied, "I'm looking for guidance," which triggered the start of the whole "we can't diagnose you here, you need to see a dermatologist" exchange. In hindsight, that now feels like an early invitation to leave. Later, when she abruptly said, "Well, this is cancelled," I clarified that I hadn't asked to cancel -- I was just trying to understand what was happening and seeking help. That, I now realize, was her second attempt to get me to step out. When I finally asked if someone else could assist me, she responded, "We have the right to refuse service. Please step out." I complied immediately -- and yet now I've been billed a $25 "late cancellation" fee for an appointment they cancelled. As a side note, after reading through other reviews, I noticed that many of the people who describe rude or dismissive treatment -- including Maria, Karla, Carmen, Tammata, Kristie, and now myself -- seem to share a similar background. It makes me wonder if there's a deeper pattern here, or if it's just coincidence. -------------------------------- I just had the most awful experience at Skin Laundry. I went in because I truly needed help -- I've been feeling desperate about my skin and was hoping for guidance. The woman I spoke with, Marguarite, asked what I wanted to do. Feeling vulnerable, I gestured toward my face, thinking it was obvious since I have dark spots and uneven pigmentation. To my surprise, she said, "We have treatments for acne." I was taken aback and replied, "Acne? I don't have acne -- my main concerns are hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. Why do you think I have acne?" She then went on to say that she couldn't diagnose me and that I needed to see a dermatologist. I started to feel uneasy and asked whether she would be the one performing the treatment. She said no -- that licensed nurses do it -- but added that they can't diagnose either. I politely asked if I could speak to someone else. Instead of letting me do that, Marguerite asked me to leave. I couldn't believe it. And as I was walking out, she accused me of using a fake name -- simply because I had used my middle name before. They had my ID and could have easily verified my full name. I left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and even attacked. I can't help but wonder if I was treated this way because I'm Latina. I came in vulnerable, looking for help, and left feeling worse -- denied service simply because I asked to speak to someone else. Is that normal behavior for a place that's supposed to care about people's confidence and skin health? read more

on 10/15/2025 I booked an appointment at Skin Laundry in Scottsdale, Az. After receiving numerous email and text message confirmations from this business, the morning of the appointment I received a text message alerting me that they received a number of cancelations and I could contact the business to arrive early. Because I work, I did not see the message until I was already on my way to the appointment. I called a Lyft to drive me to the business and because there was no address for the business in their emails or text messages I looked it up on Apple Maps. When my Lyft driver dropped me off at the Mall location I was unsure where the business was located so I called at 6:04pm. The woman told me that since I was four minutes behind my appointment she refused to give me directions to the store, cancelled my appointment and hung up on me. Later, while still at the Mall location, at 6:20pm I noticed the business was still open so I walked in and observed that there were two women in front at the desk and no customers. I explained to the employees that I paid $30 + tip to a Lyft driver just to get to the appointment to Scottsdale from Phoenix. They laughed in my face and told me that it wasn't their problem and said, "Too bad." I had to spend an additional $30 + tip for a Lyft return ride back to Phoenix. To add insult to injury-- a childish Ryan V, business manager, lied on the Yelp Review response "paperwork has not been completed," when I have a text message from the business confirming all paperwork had been completed prior to the appointment. read more

My wife used Skin Laundry but canceled over a year ago. She got an email confirming this. I was still being charged $250 a month. I didn't notice this till now, Feb 24th and I had changed credit cards for theft. I called the manager and she told me my wife didn't fill out the proper paperwork. And I cannot get my money back. I am not sure what else to fill out, when we got an email saying the membership was canceled. You would think any normal thinking human would take this as not being billed anymore. I have been billed over $3000 for services not rendered. I am filing a report with the Better Business Bureau and if that doesn't help, to small claims court. read more

I began my membership at the location in PV as an effort to combat hormonal acne but ended up coming to the Scottsdale location out of convenience. Come to find out from the tech that the lasers don't penetrate as deep as the ones at the PV location, they also have to put a gel on your face for the laser and cover your eyebrows so if you have any areas around your brows you'd like the laser to hit that's not going to happen here. I wasn't seeing results w/ the $275 a month power facial like I originally did at the PV location so I put in a request to cancel my membership online which they did not respond to or cancel. The window that I had between being able to do a monthly power facial as they only allow one every 28 days or losing out on what I was charged that month was less than a week so as much as I wanted to go back to the PV location it wasn't fitting into my schedule. At the PV location they had no problem going under my chin with the laser where the worst of my acne persists but the last session the tech told me she would do it for me this time but I'd have to pay $100 more next time as that's considered neck & chest. That's not what I was told as I began my membership, they had no problem including this without an up charge in PV. I was also never able to use a referral credit I had for product as I had hoped and was under the impression reading online that I could, was told I could only use it for an upgrade. There are no upgrades for $50 so that would've resulted in spending even more money which I wasn't about to do considering that I attempted to have this membership cancelled after I had fulfilled my 4 month obligation. Thankfully my card expired so they had no choice but to cancel it. I'm already having noticeable results for acne using a NuDerma high frequency wand on a daily basis that cost $90 from Amazon so if you're considering a membership here do yourself a favor and try that first. Or if you must go to PV where you can get more for your money on a more effective laser on your skin dry without the yucky gel which reminds me of what they use for ultrasounds. I also noticed another laser place right on the same road as this location in Scottsdale Quarter so maybe check that out and compare. read more

Skin laundry reached out to me via text to tell me about a "special" they have going on a laser treatment for $50.00. So I booked one. I texted asking what was the laser treatment I was getting. I was told "signature" laser. Well, that tells me nothing. I asked " what is the difference between your "Signature" laser and other lasers. The texter said they could not answer that, as they were just in the front. ( that is the lie! Everyone who works there should know the difference and what the three kinds of lasers that they do. After driving for one hour to get to my appointment, I filled out a long, long, detailed medical report, asking all of my medication's and medical history. Then they led me to the back where I asked the same guy what is the difference between the laser treatments. I said to him, "the reason I'm here is to get the laser that will take away the age spots and freckles and my rosacea. He says "well it won't do that." so I asked him well. "What will it do?" He says "nothing, it is a Yag laser. It works below the surface and you won't get any results on the surface of your skin." " . I'm very surprised so I ask him again about the laser, which he says is a yag laser and I won't see any improvement. He tells me that it really won't do anything. I asked him " Then why in the world am I even having a laser facial if it's not gonna do anything?" He says "it's just introducing you to the laser, but it won't do anything and you won't have any results". I ask " will I even get any results if it is below the surface???" He says "No." I still don't get it and I still don't understand why they would offer a laser treatment that doesn't do anything. I asked him six different times whether it would do anything to help my skin and six different times he said "no it won't do anything! It is just to get you used to doing a treatment." I drove 45 minutes for nothing. And does ANYONE want to lay and get lasered for 45 minutes, and it "does nothing?" How ridiculous! I think this place has to be a scam and I do not recommend it. Their policies are ridiculous, I earned 2 laser treatments while I had their membership and when I cancelled it with a manger he failed to tell me that I would lose the 2 treatments. Only when I tried booking a treatment is when they told me I forfeited those treatments when I cancelled. This place is just out for your money they don't care about the customer. Tip if you are getting Thermo Fractional laser, apply numbing cream and bring a cold face mask or ice packs... also don't do what I did and get this during the smothering hot AZ summers... I most frequently get the signature laser it helps with my breaks out tremendously. I do have to exfoliate everyday. The one thing it doesn't do is exfoliate the skin m, but it does focus on the health of your skin. I have notice a big difference since doing these laser facials. Everyone here is so kind, I just adore this place. I love the ambiance and the industrial farmhouse vibe! I generally lick up and find parking right In front, but those times I don't, I park at Kierland get a little walk in ( every little bit counts). read more

Scheduled two promotional facials for myself and gf. Spoke to skin laundry the day before and I provided my medication list when the girl talked at me to explain the service. We drove for over 30 miles to the appointment and arrived two minutes late and they canceled the appointment then after parking they stated we can be seen 1 hour later. I understand it's their policy to be on time or even early but not when you walk into your appointment 2 minutes late. The store was completely empty! No other customers waiting, employees were standing around talking. Terrible customer service in my opinion. Made me feel like we should feel grateful to pay them for services. Even surgeons and doctor's offices do not cancel your appointment if you're 2 minutes late. I had offered to pay for the two treatments the day before while over the phone, but they declined saying they only accept payments in store, I'm sure that's due to the upselling the tech does. Overall, I would not recommend. The company overall, not just this specific location. I had a membership and stuck it out for awhile (months) but did not see any significant improvement with my skin. The answer they will give is ALWAYS you need more treatments and more time. My dermatologist told me that this laser is not effective and advised me that people would get better results with regular use of tretinoin. The cancellation/rescheduling policy is ridiculous. Also, the marketed phrase "laser facial" is not accurate. When you get a facial, I think one normally expects a multi-step, multi-purpose skin treatment including steam, facial masks, exfoliation, cleansing, facial massage, etc. With this process, you get wiped down with alcohol, a few passes of the laser, and moisturizer. Start to finish is 15 minutes. I don't consider that a facial at all. And don't show up with makeup. One time I came to an appointment straight from work with makeup on and the nurse was totally irritated and let me know that the amount of time she took taking off my makeup would come out of my laser facial time. What? Anyway, if you are willing to shell out this kind of money on a monthly basis, I recommend just getting good products from your Derm or a plastic surgeon and utilizing the higher grade lasers that they recommend. read more

Skin Laundry is a total scam. They lure you into a membership but if you want to cancel it they take all your credits away that you already PAID for. And their alternative is to "freeze" the membership which you still have to pay for. Basically if you are too busy to use the credits that you have, too bad for you - they make it impossible to quit the membership without a loss. What a scam. Update: In response to your reply: Yes - I was made familiar with the only other option to "freeze" my account. Which still translates into giving you more money. It would still require me to pay your business on a monthly basis for credits that I had already paid for. The person that "helped" me may have been courteous but that doesn't change the fact that your business policies are unethical. You are charging people to use credits that they already have paid for only because they want to cancel their membership. Additionally, not at any point during the sign up process did anyone mention this cancelation policy. That part was conveniently left out. read more

My skin is night and day different since getting these laser facials. I've tried multiple things to treat my acne from chemical peels to microneedling etc and this is the only thing that has worked. I have had probably 6-8 treatments here. I was looking forward to something helping with my acne. I was nervous it would hurt. Didn't hurt at all!! Over all I see fewer breakouts and my skin has more of a glow. I have had mostly the signature facial and 1 fractional to help with scarring. Over all it's a good price when you sign up for the membership. It's nice to look forward to a treatment just for me each month. Also, I have to give a shout out to "Xavier" at the front desk. He is awesome. So kind, SO knowledgeable and just a very good positive energy. He stands out to me because he gives such great customer service and is consistent every time I have been there. After about 3 months of two facials a month I've had consistently clear skin and my scars have gone down sooo much!! This is what I've been looking for. Xavier, Sage, and Kasey are the ones who help me at the front desk and helped me with choosing products that are right for me.
