Be very careful when you buy heels in general. This is no Aldo or Payless, but it ain't Gucci either. Stick to the kinds of shoes that you'll wear out once or sexy flats; of which, they have tons.

I have been a huge fan of Skechers for years. I love how comfortable all my shoes are from this…read morebrand. I don't have to break them in. They are comfortable out of the box. My friend needed a pair of sneakers. This past Sunday, we went to this outlet store at Heartland. I wear a woman's size 11. It's another reason why I love Skechers. I can buy shoes that look good without having to dip into the men's shoe section. My friend and I found a pair of runners that she liked. I spotted her size 8.5 box on the very top shelf. We got one of the staff members to climb the ladder to fetch it. The good news was that the pair for her nicely. She wasn't loving them, so she put the back. I recently got a new pair of sneakers with the comfortable memory foam and yoga fit around you feet. They are incredibly comfy and lightweight. I got them in a blue ombré. So beautiful and functional. If you have never owned a pair of Skechers, you are missing out on casual comfort. Your feet will thank you! (58)

Peter was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, not just about Birkenstocks but even about feet. He made a very helpful assessment about my feet and recommended both the size and style that would work for me, also helping me learn more about preventing some potential challenges with my toe alignment. While I didn't end up leaving with a pair, mainly because I was indecisive about the style and color, I did leave with much more knowledge about Birkenstock and what to consider about footwear that would be best for me. My friend and her partner both left with a pair and also got fantastic help to determine the right size and style. I was particularly impressed how much service they provide around repairs and care. It's very rare to find a business with such personal service but also a mind for sustainability and quality. Highly recommend The First Step!

Well, this was quite a wonderful experience to be properly fitted with genuine good old fashioned service. No rush, no pressure sales just the best quality and service that I have ever experience purchasing footwear in 65 years. I will not go anywhere else.

Ron White prides themselves on carrying exclusive and European makes of footwear, so they have…read moreshoes and boots that can't be found anywhere else in the city. They do carry more expensive lines of footwear, so the fact that their prices are high has everything to do with the brands they carry. They aren't a cheap shoe store, but what they do sell is priced well for what it is. I had been looking for Frye boots last year and couldn't find them anywhere. I passed Ron White and saw a whole Frye display in the window - my lucky day! The saleswoman insisted on measuring my feet to ensure I got the correct size of boot. She brought out several different styles and sizes with no complaints even though I was clearly only buying one pair. She checked another location for one size that they did not have in stock. I wasn't sure about the feel of the heel on the boot (I am exclusively a flats girl) so she let me walk all over the store and even gave me a couple pairs of clean socks of different weights to try so I could get a feel for the way the boot fit. She even showed me how to tuck my jeans into my socks so they wouldn't bunch up under the boots (maybe an obvious trick but I had no idea). I wore the boots the entire next week. My feet were red and sore from breaking them in, and there was a spot at the front that was really hurting my toes and where the leather just didn't want to give. One of the bad things about Frye boots is that they are very, very stiff when you first get them, so it's hard to tell if they are really a good fit or not. I learned that the toe box doesn't stretch out during normal wear of a boot like this because the leather is thick and structured. I was devastated - surely I hadn't bought the wrong size, after all the attention and care from my saleswoman! I called the store and explained my problem. I really expected to be told that there wasn't anything they could do. Instead, they asked that I bring the boots in and they would stretch them for me for free. Maybe this is the normal high-end shoe store kind of service that's always given to everyone, but it's the first time I have ever had anyone make that offer without being pressured. I also repeated the ritual of donning a myriad of sock weights and parading around the store to make sure that they were stretched enough before I took them home. I have been added to their mailing list - from that one purchase, I receive postcards offering me money off or free gifts with my next purchase. I don't buy shoes very often but when I do I don't skimp, so I appreciate that they value my business. For the service alone I recommend stopping in, but they have a fabulous selection that really does have something for everyone.

Like another reviewer said, this is a genuine outlet with over half their floor space devoted to mark-downs. Lots more selection for women, but that's the world of retail. Still had about 50 shoes on mark down in men's. Very friendly service and I found the exact type of shoe I came in looking for, which was about 40% the regular price. I'll come back when I need something else, and they have pretty much any style you're looking for.

In the Heartland Outlet centre, you have a lot of choices of stores to go spend your money. Some…read moreof these stores are great as they're offering good deals and great service and others are just fake outlets with regular retail prices (points to Gap). Geox is the former. In most malls, Geox is a mid to high end brand that caters to the family. You can find men's business shoes, women's heels and flats, and kid shoes of all kinds (boots, running shoes, and formal dressier shoes). Often they're priced at $80++ for the kids shoes! but at this outlet, you can find deals galore and also a wide range of sizes. There's two parts to this outlet, the front section is just like the regular retail store. It shares the same current season offerings at regular price point. Sometimes you'll find a 'door crasher' in the centre upfront where some awesome deals can be found. The outlet area takes up about 60% of the floor space in the back. There you find relatively current (last seasons) items at 40 to 75% off the retail price. Often during the end of season sales, you'll have a greater reduction on those outlet shoes. I've gotten pair of shoes for 85% off at times or buy 2 and get a further 25% off! Considering these shoes are very well made and with great soft leathers, it's a steal to get them at those prices. I really also like the service. There's always at least 2 to 3 people here and they're constantly asking if you need help but not in an intrusive way. If you say you're fine, they back off but once you ask, they're always on the look out for you for alternative sizes and styles. Overall, I think it's one of the few places in Heartland that offer great shoe deals with good selection and a high quality product without feeling you're at a bargin bin store. As long as they keep up with the great season end deals (85% off!), I'll keep coming back.
