Also the turn over with teachers is big and we were told by various professors that the pay for them is not good, which was very unprofessional to tell students. Additionally when clinical started you are doing most of them at high desert hospitals and apu students at these hospitals have a bad reputation for not being efficient with there nursing skills due to the lack of teaching at the school. Also there is another school in this area called Victor valley college that has very strong students so most of the hospitals cater towards these students and apu students get pushed to the side. Emails can also take time to be answered due to the director at this campus having to do lots of jobs to overcompensate for the areas staff is lacking. Lastly I want to add not all the professors were terrible and a few there have a true passion for teaching and are very good at what they do.

They advertised a discount because of where I was employed, so being the financially responsible person I am I applied for this university. I reached out to everyone I could about them giving me the discount they were still advertising online and they never did. They didn't stop advertising the discount until months after, I wonder who else they took money from. Make sure you don't rely on their website information before giving them your money. Have it all on the contract.

The instructor that I have, Lisa, prepares you in every way possible for each and every lecture, test and the national test. She is a happy, honest instructor and does not sugar coat anything. She is extremely open to any questions you have, nothing is taboo which makes being new to this field pleasant and an easy transition. The cost of the course, for me, was a little steep but to be able to complete the course in three weeks does make life much easier so it's the sacrifice you make to jump into the new field in such a short amount of time. All in all if you're interested in phlebotomy you should highly consider AUMT institute as an option. Be ready to hit the ground running and take the course seriously. Every bit of information given is valuable.

What happened four weeks into my 10 week program? They TEXT ME to tell me that they are *closing down* the Santa Fe Springs campus, and ask me if I'm willing to double my commute time by going to the Ontario campus to get my EKG Certification, or tripling my commute for their main Carson campus. They weren't even professional enough to send an email - they text me this information, lolz. If you are neurodivergent, and don't learn via lecture/being spoken to for four hours every night - and you have a job? This is *not* the school for you. As someone who works full-time, 10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday so I can attend the five hour in-person lab on Fridays, and learns absolutely nothing from the lecture model? It would be nice to use the required four hours Monday through Thursday evenings to, Idk - LEARN the material required to pass the certification test. But I can't. I'm required to keep my camera on, zone out, and pretend I'm taking in anything from said lecture. The majority of my learning takes place during the in-person lab on Fridays, from the providers at my current place of employment, and during my actual "time off" on the weekends because the four hours of required attendance "lecture,"Monday through Thursday, teaches me *nothing.* To be honest, I'm lucky I already work in the medical field, and at a clinic with providers and nurses that actually care, so they've done more explaining and teaching than AUMT has this past month. In summary, I can't wait for this nightmare to end. Two days of *heavy lecture,* covering multiple chapters/subjects, and two days of listening to my fellow students present a slide show or their arts and crafts project, for 10 weeks is torture.
