I've worked for Siyan Clinical Corporation for over 1 year now as a psychotherapist and love working for this company. Previously, I worked in community mental health for 10 years where services are greatly impacted due to the high need. Coming over to Siyan, I have a lot of appreciation for the CEO, Dr. Shah, who built the company from the ground up and makes patient care a priority. I feel valued as an employee and have been so impressed with the policies put in place to keep the employees and patients safe. All of the providers I work with are knowledgeable with treating mental health disorders and always aware of new/effective treatment methods. I have so much faith in the people I work with that I would trust my family or friends to meet with any of the providers knowing they would be receiving excellent care. read more

I'd like to preface my review by saying I was a Kaiser member all of my life until last year when I had to switch coverage. I have been in recovery and on the same medication for 6 years. I have NEVER ran into the kind of issues I have at Saiyan... I started with an incredible doctor, Dr.Poon at Saiyan. He was compassionate, and understanding. But since he retired, I've been transferred to Dr.Sunny Bush. I CANT STRESS THIS ENLOUGH. If Sunny is your doctor, you WILL run into issues. 1. She refused to sign medical documents stating my disability, but had no problem continuing to prescribe multiple medications for those disabilities. This made absolutely zero sense to me, and in 25 years I've never once ran into a doctor that had any issue whatsoever filing that paperwork. (This was on the FIRST day of meeting her) 2. At the end of our first meeting she scheduled a follow up appointment with me, three weeks out, KNOWING she was going on vacation. Never was notified, and I was told the day of the "appointment" that she's on vacation. Extremely unprofessional. 3. Because she's my prescribing doctor, and left for said vacation, it was up to me source out another doctor in the clinic capable of prescribing my meds. It's almost like she just suddenly leaves, and expects her clients to just "figure it out" 4. When asked if I can change to another doctor, because of her complete incompetentcy, I was told she's the only one available. This place started out absolutely amazing, and took a SEVERE turn. If you value your money, your time, human decency.... SKIP SAIYAN, or at the very least ask for any other doctor BESIDES Sunny Bush. Read some of the other reviews, and get better care. read more

COUNTY OF SONOMA EMPLOYEES USING THE STANDARD LTD for your short-term disability coverage: do NOT accept a referral from this place, they won't tell you until you have been there for a month that they don't do "LTD" documents. They can only submit SDI via EDD. You will end up with no income if you are out on disability for psychiatric care and end up at this facility. Everything else is wasted because they triggered massive trauma and stress and I don't really recommend anyone go there. read more

I've been seeing a therapist from Siyan for 2 1/2 years. I was very satisfied until recently. My insurance changed and I was no longer able to see the same therapist. The clinic called and informed me of the changed and directed me to another therapist. Here is the issue. You don't just change therapist like this. Years of rapport is not replaced like this. At least not without a transition. Zero consideration was taken by Siyan. I even asked if I could pay out of pocket rather than use insurance. I had a manager call and tell me they would look into the possibility. That was two weeks ago and I have not heard back. Makes you think....do they care about the client or the money????? read more

When they're good, they're good. When they're not.... It really leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and is ultimately why I am switching to a different provider. I went back and forth on writing a review because everyone's experience is dependent on many factors. It often takes 2-3 business days and a phone call to get a refill authorized again when I ran out. Dr. Shah helped me at times, in particular during a crisis 2.5 years ago. However, he only seems to make himself available for telehealth appointments on Saturdays despite my often preferring in-person appointments. I think he means well, but we often seem to miss the mark with each other. What pushed me over was the fact that I waited 30 full minutes for him to show up for my last appointment before I gave up. I never got an apology or feasible explanation. Simply that it was cancelled. Why did it get cancelled if I got a text reminder the morning of? I didn't cancel it. Was it an accident, did something come up? They charge a $50 no-show fee if you don't show up, but I guess it doesn't work the other way around. read more

I called and asked specifically if there was a provider who evaluates and diagnoses two specific conditions. I waited 6 weeks for an appointment, went in to have the provider tell me that she doesn't evaluate and diagnose either condition. In fact, she was pretty dismissive of my reasons for wanting these conditions addressed. I felt disregarded and upset that I had to have a negative experience like this from someone who doesn't do the work I specifically asked about when making the appointment. read more

Siyan has billed me $50 for a "no show" appointment. In fact, I had canceled it 48 hrs prior using the link in your appointment notification sent to my cell phone. This is the 2nd time I was being wrongly billed for supposed "no show". I suggest the billing staff carefully checks patients' cancelletions before charging fees. Also, its extremely difficult to reach Siyan on the phone, it is always busy. I was trying to reach management, and the receptionist sent me into a full voice mail box. The receptionists are inmpersonal and abrupt. Every time I need a refill Siyan wants me to see a doctor. Siyan changes doctors all the time, it is impossible to establish a doctor-patient relationship if apatient sees a doctor only once! To sum my complaint up: I like my therapist, but otherwise, the rest of the services are subpar! read more

Horribly unorganized office and rude front desk person. They have rescheduled my appointments and not notified me, I had shown up for appointment and Dr. Shah wasn't even there. The next appointment with him I waited 20 minutes and he finally came in through the front door. Another appointment was scheduled for 5 pm without my knowledge. I called them and told them I could not make it as I am driving home at that time and to reschedule. They told me to keep the appointment rather than reschedule, and they would move it to 5:10. At 4:50 I still had not received a link for the video appointment and left a message asking for the link. The link came across at 5:05 and I logged in only to find out I missed the appointment because they never updated their system to 5:10. So frustrating. And good luck in getting through when you call, as I am constantly getting their voicemail. Additionally I discovered I was being recorded, possibly on video too, without my consent which is totally violating and sickening. And now they want payment before the day of your appointment. read more

I have been a patient with Siyan Clinical for years and I absolutely love my care team! Everyone is always so helpful and I've seen improvements in all areas of my life since working with them. I see Thomas O'Donnel for SUD counseling, Sunny Bush for psychiatry, and Dilrani Bhadare for therapy. For profit office and don't really care about your psychiatric needs! Definitely going to file a complaint with the Medical board California and other agencies! They dropped me as a patient because of missed appointments due to me having Covid and being hospitalized as well as taking care of my dad and couldn't make it to my appointment! No compassion! They should have referred me to a different psychiatric office but didn't! If I did something outrageous because of lack of psychiatric care they would be at fault! Don't see Sunny Bush, she's not helpful she treated me like a kid when I was begging for help. They only care about money than helping me with my mental illness. They provide me with the tools and direction that I need to stay sober and live a happy meaningful life. Hate to give Siyan such a low rating because I loved my provider. She is the only reason I stayed for almost 3 years. Once she moved to in-patient care, I left. The office staff is incompetent. I've had several issues with them over the years. 1. They rarely answer the phone 2. Office manager doesn't return calls. 3. 3 months after being prescribed a new dosage of medication, they still hadn't completed a prior authorization despite numerous phone calls to them and I never the medication. 4. You have to fight with them if you ever want to switch providers within the office. Don't waste your time with Siyan. Zoom appointments have given us so many more options since the dr doesn't need to be local. read more

I completed a 7 week course of TMS in late June, 2022 for my chronic depression. This consisted of 35 daily treatments, lasting 30 to 40 minutes, with a wonderful technician named Katrina. After several weeks of treatment, my symptoms improved. However, as soon as the treatments were completed, my symptoms gradually returned until they are now the same or worse than they were pre-treatment. I give only 2 stars because, obviously the treatment provided no lasting benefit to me. I understand that no treatment works for everyone. However the main reason for my low rating is that all of my contacts with Dr. Shah were centered around justifying the TMS, selectively emphasizing the benefits and minimizing the failures of the treatment. I never felt the slightest interest, warmth or compassion from Dr. Shah for me as a person. I was just another data point on his TMS graph. read more

I have been with Dr. Shah, geez, going on 8 years to treat my clinical resistant depression. He is by far my favorite doctor I have ever had. He listens intently and always has a game plan when switching meds. He really knows about mental health and I'm comfortable sharing my innermost thoughts with out fear of judgement. I genuinely feel like he cares and wants me to feel as great as I can. There is a reason he received the "Most compassionate Psychiatrist" award. I loved seeing that when I first entered his office 8 years ago. I recently completed the TMS treatment and I feel the best I ever have in my entire life. The TMS staff is amazing, Katrina is a doll and professional and caring. The front staff is great and greet you by name when you arrive for your treatment. The billing department is completely unorganized. The front desk ladies don't communicate well with other workers. Will have two people call for payment when already paid. Front desk ladies give incorrect information, said I was covered by insurance then wasn't and had to pay out of pocket. My nurse practitioner was the only good thing here but eventually had to leave. I was just going to write that I had been going to Syian for two and a half years. Dr. Kothapalli couldn't be interested in my schizoaffective disorder bipolar type and just mentioned renewing my meds very briefly. He couldn't keep a Zoom meeting and aparently doesn't know how. Usually nobody would ever answer the phone. The VA was paying and Syian's staff could never learn how to do the authorizations or how to send prescriptions to the VA pharmacy, and staff never wrote down the procedure for doing those things so that their frequent replacements could know how. The other negative reviews and well done. Avoid this place. A good therapist is obviously and immediately effective and doesn't sleep through the appointments. I have been diagnosed since 1970 and have encountered many psychiatrists who are, in a word, "nuts." read more

I was a patient of Dr. Shah. The only purpose of an appointment with the doctor is to pressure you into a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment process which is less effective than dbt/cbt therapy and almost double the cost. Dr. Shah should have his license revoked for the danger he puts his patients through. Appointments routinely ran 30-70 minutes late and the only topic was about TMS and the cost/benefits. I could not be more thankful for Terrie Drew at the Siyan Medical Center. After suffering for 38 years of my life, (I'm 43 now) I spent an hour with Terrie and she diagnosed me correctly and put me on medication that has given me life. She listened and truly heard what I had told her and has worked with me to make sure i'm on the correct dosage. I still feel like me and I'm still able to keep up with my life and experience it now to the fullest without the anguish, fear, panic, dread, misery and hypomanic episodes. I made an appointment for my 81 year old mom who was traumatized by elder abuse and needed support ASAP. I got an appointment the same week, but on the morning of the appointment I got a call saying that the therapist could not make it in that day. The only next appointment was a week later. I was told the first appointment would be $125. When we got to the clinic we were told the first appointment would be $250. I told them we had been given bad info, and they did not care. We left and never returned. read more

My previous appointment at Siyan Clinical in Santa Rosa, CA, was less than satisfactory in regards to the treatment I've received amongst the staff, particularly with Rani Bhadare, Psy D and Sunny Bush, NP. At my previous visit which was on May 3, 2022 at 10:00am, as soon as I sat in the office of Bhadare, I was instantly given the explanation by her that Siyan Clinical can no longer have me as a patient because she said my particular case in terms of my mental health is too "severe" for her to treat. She then went on to explain that at the facility, they primarily treat patients with "mild to moderate" mental illnesses only, which I sense to be a false accusation because I was never previously given that directive upon my first appointment at Siyan Clinical which was back on April 5, 2022 with Sunny Bush. When asking Bhadare why I'm "severe", her reasoning was also invalid, and she gave examples of my generalized anxiety and apparent OCD. These are entirely treatable by anyone with experience, but instead I am, without sugarcoating it, turned away without even the attempt for her to help me. Bhadare then went on to explain that at Siyan, they are a "pre-screening" facility primarily, which I also sense to also be a last-minute false claim because I was never told that at prior appointments either. And apparently at Siyan, she told me that my appointments have all been a "pre-screening" only which I was never previously aware of, and that I must be referred to an intensive care program where they can treat more severe mental illnesses, like my own according to her. My working diagnoses are major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and apparently OCD but I also believe myself I have PTSD from past childhood traumas. These are treatable, there is no such thing as too severe; these are common mental illnesses that people go in to be treated for. So who can you treat then? People with no problems? What if a patient with a very challenging illness such as bipolar disorder or a debilitating eating disorder came into Siyan for treatment? Would they also turn them away at the last minute without prior explanation of them only being a "mild to moderate" treatment facility? What is a "mild" mental illness anyway? Feeling a little sad sometimes because you have a giant penis-shaped birthmark on your behind? After my experience at my appointment a few days ago, I feel confused, frustrated, and very angry that I thought I could finally get help for my struggles but then be told that I am considered a "severe" case and am too much of a challenge to treat. I asked why they could not treat so-called severe illnesses then, and Bhadare explained that they can't because they lack enough staff and resources, but what I'm hearing is that they lack enough experience in all their respective fields to even have enough knowledge to treat them. Or, the two women I've met at Siyan, Rani Bhadare and Sunny Bush are actually angered that I left criticisms upon both of them regarding a lack of empathy and understanding in their interactions with me, and they personally don't want to work with me because of my constructive criticisms and they feel incompetent. So I am given the claim that I am "severe", making me feel crazier than I should be feeling by a mental health professional. I've had only one single appointment with Bush and only one evaluation appointment with Bhadare, and they've already come to the rapid conclusion that I am "severely" mentally ill when they haven't even gotten to fully know me yet. Additionally, I had a recent visit with my primary care physician to discuss birth control and medication prescriptions. When I told her that I recently saw a psychiatrist who prescribed me Lamotrigine (which is to primarily treat bipolar disorder and seizures; I am diagnosed with neither), she shook her head and said "that's freakin' ridiculous' ' in reaction to the medication of choice. The Lamotrigine also made me feel a high increase in depressive and angry emotions, so I decided to quit taking it and save myself some stress. Overall, I am angered by my experience at Siyan Clinical and it's clear why I got such a fast spot into their facility, whereas it's much harder and nearly impossible to get an appointment with older, more experienced therapists these days, because they lack patients due to their lack of experience. Also, it would probably be good for their practice to tackle a more challenging "severe" case like mine in order to gain said experience and more expertise. I've also gotten no follow up call from the intensive care program I was referred to and was supposed to get a call from in the past few days. I question their ability to help me as well. read more

I went there before covid and my rating has to do with the fact that I was not treated like a real human there. I let the practitioner know about my moms death and other stressful things in my life and she was quick to brush those off and try to just diagnose me. When I talked about my life she ignored it and asked me something from a sheet about on a scale of 1-10 how I was feeling. And when I did try my medication and wasn't having much luck I had a very hard time getting through to her and was required to come in again for another $250 appointment to talk about adding on a medication I had already used in the past. I am now seeing a new psychiatrist not from this office who seems to have a much better understanding of people as a whole and also a better understanding of my sensitivity to medications and how to work with that. read more

Dr. Shah asks thoughtful questions and makes sure everything is going well with you. He's relatively conservative in prescribing medication, which I see as a good thing. He doesn't try to limit you, which I feel a lot of psychiatrists do. Granted, I haven't yet had to come him in a particularly bad state, so I'm not the best person to tell you how he deals with that. But from my experience, he's very knowledgable and thoughtful, and his couch is comfy, so there's that. I've had a couple of mishaps with the front desk, but I hate to hold it against them. I showed up one time on my appointment day, only for them to tell me that they had in their records that I was seen two days earlier, so they had to send me home with a new appointment. But hey, S**t happens. They've seemed otherwise to be pleasant and professional. read more

Siyan Cllinical is the worst mental health experience I have had in many many years. I have been stable on my bipolar medicines for 20 years, but must have a "med check" (not talk therapy) every three months to have my insurance qualify for mental health meds. In other words I am not supposed to describe the reasons behind my psychiatric symptoms, just the the efficacy of the medicatinos, which only change, on average, one per year. In fact, I am told by Siyan Clinical that they have no openings for psychiatric care, that I have to go to another facility to get this. The first therapist I had, for the first year, was okay. She left the practrice. I was assigned to Marina, and the problems began. Marina is habitually late, and, during the Zoom period during the pandemic, she was regularly late, to point where I would have to leave the Zoom because she hadn't shown up. Then, Siyan had problems with their Zoom platform, and thank God they have switched to an easier access platform. Marina is somewhat cold. All she wanted to know was the efficacy of the various medications. Don't get me wrong...yes, when, for instance, I am experiencing extreme, though temporary, long term insomnia, Marina hasprescribed something stronger. But the underlying causes of my bipolar depressed are not something Marina is interested in. I have asked her if I could also see a standard psychiatrist, the answer was no. For Siyan, it's all about the money. Last week, I received a "megabill" from them, the very first bill I have ever received in a year and a half. When I went through the bill, I saw that $200 was there was for noshows, on dates on which I had no appointment. I was 5 months in the hospital during 2020 to 2021, with a hip replacement and then a broken leg, Not only could I have never had these appointments===which were $50 apiece for a no show===but later on, I saw no shows billed for the times Marina missed the appointments, I am in the process of presenting a statement to Siyan for these mistakes. The California Dept of Consumer Affairs which has a division which advocates in dealing in this very common form of elder abuse. If I were you, I would stay as far apart from Siyan Clinical as you can. Others here in Yelp have expressed the exact same complaints as I have. Regards, B. read more

I will be looking for a new psychiatrist because I am extremely unhappy with Dr Kothapali. I understand that he is a psychiatrist that focuses on prescribing medication but that is all he focuses on. I just ended an appointment with him where I had a half hour times lot and was explaining to him that in the last year since I've seen him I have attempted to commit suicide and that my sister who was mentally ill has starved herself to death he interrupted me in the middle of my discussing my sister after 10 minutes in the appointment and told me he was going to step back and just find out how my medication was doing and to schedule in two months. I have never experienced a mental health professional who cares as little about your mental health as he does. His bedside manner is absent and it seems all he cares about is the appointment and getting paid. I sure did not get my half hours worth and he is banking on $300 for 10 minutes. He should be a pharmacist. I will be giving reviews online so others can be aware of how horribly insensitive he is. Is my medication working? Well considering that I tried to commit suicide probably not to the best effect but how can I even convince him to listen to me? Additionally, I have a heart condition that he knows about and he prescribed two cardio toxins to me that combined together can cause ventricular tachycardia so he needs to do a little bit more research before prescribing. So I accept his prescriptions (minus the two cardio toxins he prescribed) and move on to a psychiatrist who actually gives a shit. I called my intensive outpatient program to see If they had other recommendations for a psychiatrist and they notified me that they have been getting many complaints about Siyan so you may want to pay a little bit more attention to your patients. read more

Horrible. I'd give 0 stars if it were an option. My daughter doesn't connect with the Psychiatrist they provided for her. The medication works, but she doesn't like the Dr. They won't let us switch to a different Doctor within the facility. It is not easy to find a child Psychiatrist. Now we have to go through that whole process again, because Siyan's policies aren't in the best interest of the patients. Horrible. I have been going to Siyan Clinical for a few years. The first psychiatrist I saw refused to treat me because I smoked marijuana (this was not even remotely related to why I was seeking care). My second psychiatrist was terrific and I saw her until she left the practice. I was then assigned to Marina. Marina can't be on time to an appointment. Several times I was not seen until after my appointment should have ended. Even when I was her first patient of the day, with a phone appointment, she did not call until half way through what should have been my appointment. Siyan clinical will not allow me to change psychiatrist because *policy* and I have not had a meaningful conversation about my medication since switching to Marina because I never have time since she is LATE. The staff have repeatedly expressed they are sorry but they cannot force her to be on time. If anyone else in the area took my insurance I would be gone. read more

I have been with Siyan Clinical for about 1 year now. I have had a great experience with the nurse practitioner I'm seeing. However the customer service with the front desk is horrible!! If I've had to call and reschedule an appointment no one ever answers the phone. Sometimes I have to call off and on throughout the day until I get a real person and not an answering machine. On the answering machine they ask you to leave your name and number and they will call you back if you need to reschedule an appointment. I've left a message on 3 different occasions and not once did I receive a call back. This is unacceptable! Anytime I've gone in for an appointment there is always 2-3 people tending to the front desk. I don't understand how no one is available to answer the phone. The front desk needs to work on better customer service skills. read more
