It's much quicker to get to and home again than a trip to Chermside. It's small and stocks the basics. Usually closed by 9pm but open nearly all public holidays. They now have a small ATM just inside the door and eftpos available if spending over $5.

There are definitely a few goodies here for those craving a taste of Aotearoa. Interestingly the shop doesn't appear to be staffed by Kiwi's. In fact we had an amusing conversation with the lady behind the counter because we were drawn in there by the chance of finding NZ cooked fish and chips. She told us she was a local, had been doing chips for years and couldn't see any real difference in how they were cooked. She managed to burn the fish while explaining this. In her defence the portion size we went home with was reasonably generous and they certainly weren't the worst we'd tried in Brisbane. We'd arrived near closing time but noted their espresso counter while we were there. They look like they do a roaring lunchtime trade in Merlo coffee and cafe food too.
