This was a great unexpected lunch stop on our way to Vermont. The cafe is currently doing orders to go at the window and are taking all precautions for Covid (masks, gloves, cleaning pens). We ordered Hot Bird sandwiches and a tropical smoothie. The sandwich was stacked tall with avocado, turkey and cheese and the bread was perfectly toasted in a panini maker. The smoothie was fresh and all the food was prepared pretty quickly for being such high quality. We will definitely be back! read more

Where do I even start with this review? Sissy's Cafe is amazing. They're always busy and there's a reason why! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing everything. I've had a number of their sandwiches and ALL of them have been just incredible. The ingredients they use are incredibly fresh and the portions are very generous. They've got tons of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available should you need. My mother and I once split a bowl of their tomato soup, and I HATE tomato soup, and this soup was...well...amazing! I don't think I'd ever like tomato soup but Sissy's has me second-guessing my dislike of it. They also do juices and smoothies, all of it made from fresh fruit and veggies, that are as good as the food they serve. I've gotten the carrot juice and it's delicious! If you're ever in the Stockade and aren't sure where to grab lunch, Sissy's is a sure bet for great food and impeccable service. read more

It was 90 °F (32 °C) and we were really hot, looking for cold drinks. They have a variety of smoothies and beverages that were really good actually, only thing is the wait. It was very hot and there weren't an abundance of people waiting, but it still took a hot minute for our orders to come out. What a great little cafe in the middle of Kingston. I had just gotten a facial down the street and just needed a little pick me up. I got the nutty professor smoothie and it was so good! Absolutely delicious and filling. I missed lunch but was planning to have an early dinner so I just needed a little something and this smoothie hit the spot! It was perfect. Everyone was also super duper friendly. Didn't realize they were closing at 2 so I had just made the cut off time because as soon as I walked a row of people started coming but they all got turned away. Kingston, NY has become quite a place for hipsters and I completely understand that this is a place that's perfect for someone like that. It's a quaint, fun place that is a great venue if you are Vegan and/or gluten free...but it wasn't a great place for me. I get it, not every restaurant is going to hit a home run with me, but that doesn't mean it won't be a 5-star place for you. Came here with my family and my in-laws because they love Sissy's. I happen to have two kids that are a bit picky and I tend to turn my nose up at stuff like 'Fakin Bacon', but we were all able to find something to eat. The service was great here - and I loved the fact that the coffee and tea was self serve...for these two reasons alone I am giving Sissy's four stars. From a personal food standpoint I'd probably give it three because I don't like fighting to find something on a menu...but again, it's clear that most people LOVE it here. One of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots! Food is delicious and quick, they're conscientious of COVID (no indoor dining, masks on, outdoor seating with DIY sanitizing for your table/chairs/hands), and the smoothies always hit the spot. There are a number of small parks in walking distance to enjoy your food too if you'd like to be more socially distanced. I absolutely LOVE Sissy's! Fresh, whole food ingredients and the casual atmosphere is everything I want in a local cafe. You can customize anything on the menu and the servers don't even bat an eye. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, beer and kombucha are on tap, WiFi is available and there's plenty of coffee and hot tea varieties. Oh, and smoothies!! :) read more

I love to get the vegan delight at Sissy's. Last time I branched out and got a salad with tempeh. Salads are rarely exciting. This one was. Lots of different tastes. Super fresh and delicious. We had just left the DMV and were happy and hungry. Where can we get a cool breakfast in the Stockade District of Kingston. We found a parking space on Wall Street right in front of Sissy's. It was jammed at 10:30 on a Friday morning in July. Wow...what have we been missing. When we sat down the menu wasn't making me excited. It looked too healthy for me. Then I kept reading and wow. This menu has everything with all the right buzz words. This is a totally unpretentious place that seats about 20 and has a menu that beckons. The coffee is self-serve with many flavors. We ordered a Mediterranean wrap with avocado, goat cheese, egg and olive tapenade in a whole wheat wrap. I had a delicious sausage egg and cheese on a hard roll with a spicy mayo. It was just the right spice and yummy. The staff was welcoming and very together. You can do Vegan or Gluten Free. It was a great first time here. We will be back. read more
