It was a grieving period for me, I work ten hour days, the estate needed to be filed in another county, and I knew I didn't want to attempt to navigate this process by myself. I researched attorneys specializing in estates on the internet, and selected The Law Office of Jane L. Walker. From my very first visit with Attorney Walker, I was learning about estate requirements. Her staff was friendly, the communication was great, and the entire process was professionally handled. I'm glad I had this team on my side!

I called a few people that first day, and not only was Terrie one of the 2 that called me back. But she was the only one that really listened to me, and made me like she completely had my back and wasn't just a paycheck for her. Not only was her approach amazing, but she was always available to chat with me, keep me positive and be really honest with me. And the crazy thing is that I never actually met her in person, but I felt completely supported and as if I gained a new friend! I recommend her whole-heartedly and I will definitely be working with her in the future.

I went to Egert Law to set up a Trust. The result was a professionally done binder explaining all…read morethat the Trust involved. The rest was up to me to make sure my assets were named under the trust, which I then did. I paid my (expensive) bill and thought I was done. NOPE. Months later I got a follow-up letter reminding me to put my assets into the Trust, and then follow-up letters to the follow-up letter, and then a phone call following up on the letters and finally a request to stop in the office. I guess they really cared about my Trust, right? NOPE - I received a BILL for each letter and phone call! I stopped in their office with proof that I had my assets in the trust and asked about the bill. I was told that not only do they charge for the time to write the letters ($54 each - 20 minutes to put my name on a form letter?? Debra Arnold should learn to type faster!) but I'd be charged for the time I was in the office telling them I didn't need the follow up letters/calls. When I asked them to stop with the letters they said they'd need that in writing. I asked for the form but they refused saying they needed to send it through the mail. Yup, I'll be getting ANOTHER letter that I don't want and will be charged for! I'm not sure if all lawyers are like this, but I find this to be unprofessional and unethical. No wonder lawyers have such a bad reputation! Just a warning for anyone looking to use Egert.

I reached out via Yelp and we communicated mostly through email. I was given web forms to pay via credit card for the deposit and final transaction. We did most of the will creation over email, I was sent a form to complete then scan, and email back. For the final will creation, I had to visit the office in person and sign, along with Erwin's team. In all, it was a pretty realistic transaction for the creation of a will.
