I actually watched the movie first, and fell in love with it. Julia Roberts was fabulous. I then went on to read the book. I have lost count on how many times I have read the book now. I just LOVE IT. The book inspires me on all levels. It inspires me to look within, to learn, to discover, to live out of the box, to laugh, to eat, to be myself, and of course to travel. I have been very fortunate to have been able to do so much travelling already. Bali is one of my favourite places in the world. And don't get me started on Italy....: Eat, Pray, Love is a must read. It is the transparent journey of an everyday woman from a life of lack and emptiness to a life of self-discovery, self-love and purpose :).

I came upon this book by chance and I feel that it has helped me to not only grow a bit, but to understand the importance of being at peace with myself. The writing in the book was exquisite as the author literally allows you to take a walk in her shoes. Through allowing you to do this she also allows you to understand that being unbalanced (at times) is merely a necessary part of a balanced life. I loved that the author not only took the time to write her own story, but also the stories of those individuals she met along her journey, as this allows the reader to relate to various elements of the story. In sum, Eat, Pray, Love was a delight to read! (Although, it may at times cause an unnatural desire to eat)

Though I can't relate to anything in this magazine, it is well-written. In the time I received it,…read moreit had several great articles that I sent to friends. One was on charitable giving. Another was on eating disorders. Yet another was on recycling and included many articles on what people can do different and a green guide on recycled paper. They also featured the home of Ted Turner's daughter which was still very classic and entirely green. There are pictures from parties that include fashion people more than socialites as well as journals from people's travels. There's also a wedding section and a free wedding issue each year. Certainly NY-centric but less so than Vogue. There was a very colonialist tone to the articles on Africa and Asia which I found off-putting. If you are wealthy, from the tri-state area, an aspiring socialite (more Nan Kempner, less Paris Hilton), Caucasian, over 30 and a mother with a classic style, this is the magazine for you.

When we call the paper a angry lady usually tell us that our gate is locked (we don't have a lock mechanism on the gate) and that's why he don't deliver the paper when the truth is that he just toss it out his window. I don't understand why the paper think they do us a huge favor deliver? They pay the delivery driver and we pay the paper so nothing is free and should not be treated as a favor.
