This Stainless Steel sculpture is constructed of a triangular form, from the base to the top. It is a play on geometry. A triangle is a profoundly simple shape, yet is the strongest.
Carlos Davila, the artist has always been fascinated by ancient cultures, beginning with those in his native Peru. The scientific accomplishments and inventions, the mathematical discoveries, the architecture and art, and the cuneiform and hieroglyphic writing of many disparate ancient cultures have been an ideal jumping-off point for Davila's sculptures.
This piece of art is located in one of the busiest corners in Providence, just steps from the Graduate Hotel, Omni hotel, Visitor Center, the Amica Mutual Pavilion, Kennedy Plaza and City Hall.
I have seen many visitors stand by it and take pictures of this modern, almost abstract piece of art, which makes this corner of the city, a bit more colorful. read more
