I hired Michael Sims to help settle my father's estate. He was very helpful in arranging the transfer of real estate and making sure everything was recorded properly for tax purposes. Based on that good experience, I again sought his help in writing up my own estate plan. I went in with a fixed idea of what I needed based on what I knew other people had. After reviewing my estate, Michael explained how I didn't need what I assumed I did, and was able to meet my needs for a fraction of what I could have spent for a more complicated set-up. His estimate for setting up a trust (which I ultimately didn't need) was 1/2 the price that my dad paid to set up his trust.
