Great experience! The place is inviting, clean, with a great eat-in atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly. And for the food...it was delicious! We are big into Thai food and just moved from Dallas, Texas. This rivals any Thai we've had there. The meat quality and flavor were wonderful. Their spice level was also spot on - if you wanted hot it came hot. We continually find that spice levels don't match what we request so this was a great add on for the dinner. Been here several times over the past few months. Each time our waiter was very knowledgeable and tuned me into some excellent choices on the menu. The sushi has been top notch and the signature dishes outstanding. Well worth the cost, as this is not an every week place for us because with wine, apps, and entrees we're always in the $80-$100 range. Although with some leftovers to come home with. I have never had anything here that wasn't terrific, and several times the chef prepared a sushi tray to order based on exactly what I mentioned to the waiter I liked. Another 30 min before they asked us what we wanted to eat. We had no menu so it was impossible to order, but we knew what sushi our daughter wanted. Got our daughters sushi order and we told them we still needed a menu. Gave us a menu and asked us what we wanted. We didn't have time to look so we asked for a sec, which turned into another 20 min!!! The time is now 7:50 pm and no food or drink refills for us!! At 8:00 pm we just asked for the check and they took another 20 min to bring that!!!! I don't usually give reviews unless the service is so horrible that people need to know before spending their hard earned money. I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is always delicious. The service has definitely improved from past experiences although it was never bad enough to keep me away. The sushi is not as tasty or made as tight as when Sam was there but it is still the best sushi that I know of in the Burlington area. I usually visit Simply Thai once a week. As a connoisseur of asian cuisine and sushi, I found the staff very prompt and the food fresh and delicious. problem is for what i got i could have been 60 dollars else where and just been as good or better and it cost 99.98 plus tip. We just walked out after several tables that came in and ordered after us received their food well before us. We had a show to get to and we left plenty of time and even some extra time to get Dinner and still be early. Once we noticed it was taking longer than normal we alerted our waitress that we were concerned. She said it should be out soon... more waiting and more tables being served. I went to the bartender as I could not find our waitress and let her know... she found the waitress who came over and was absolutely no help. After waiting again for several more minutes my wife talked to the hostess who apologizes and said the meal would be on the house... but the problem was there was still no food. We asked for it to go and we'd just have to eat after the show. It finally came out after I went outside to get ready to go as we needed to get to the theatre. My wife went to walk out with the food and the waitress would not let her go without paying and the hostess just backed down and didn't make good on resolving this issue. The waitress actually called my wife a "Karen" (which is pretty funny because she is the furthest thing from that). She tossed the cash on the ground and we left. I finally ate at 10:30pm after we got back home. Ridiculous... we won't be back. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The food was out of this world delicious. I got the chicken pho and was thrilled with the portion size. We also go sushi, the volcano roll, crunchy spicy tuna roll, and the "oh baby shot". The sushi was fresh and beautiful. The sushi chef takes pride in each roll and did a wonderful job keeping us entertained at the sushi bar. The only con is the sushi prices can get a little high, but they do have cheaper options as well. This has been some of the best sushi I've ever had and will definitely be back again. read more

We were craving Thai food last night and the other Thai restaurant is closed on Sundays, so we tried Simply Thai and were pleasantly surprised (based on some of the reviews here). We called about 20 min before they closed and the gentleman who answered the phone (I'm assuming he was the owner) was incredibly courteous and was pleased to take our carry out order. When I walked in fifteen minutes later, I was friendly greeted and enjoyed a pleasant and brief conversation with the gentleman while paying the bill We order a green curry with chicken and a panang curry with tofu; both were delicious. I've never been to Thailand, but I'm a bit of a Thai curry snob and I thought both dishes were full of flavor and appropriately spicy. My girlfriend, who is less of a snob, thought both dishes were delicious and the tofu was amazing. The green curry could have used a bit more fish oil, but I'm not complaining. Even for someone new to Thai curry, both dishes would be good choices. Also, the portions were plentiful: I stuffed myself last night and I still have enough left over for lunch today. I definitely recommend Simply Thai if you're looking for good Thai curry in Burlington. read more

They have maintained a good interior and the food is above average. Considering there are no better thai restaurants in the area this place is the best bet in the neighborhood. I tried the Pho, Drunken noodle and the spring roll. Pho was just OK not as good as you get in a decent Vietnamese. So was the drunken noodle. Service was good. read more

One of two excellent Thai restaurants in Alamance County. I rotate between the two because I can't decide which one I like best. The yellow curry is so good that I feel like I am making a mistake ordering a different dish. But every dish is so tasty that I want to try different ones! I have had about 10 of them and none of them disappointed. The restaurant is quite lovely, with lots of nice Thai decorative touches. The restaurant has a nice sushi bar. The soup can be a little tepid and the service a bit lacking, but the entrees make up for it every time. Simply Thai is the restaurant my teen choose to eat at on her 16th birthday! I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it hardly had any meat they put more of tofu and green onions in there to make up for that but when I order chicken pad Thai I kinda wish it would have a decent amount of chicken. We stopped in Simply Thai while out house-hunting in the Elon area and I had a great meal for lunch. They have a limited list of lunch specials each day which are very affordable at ~$7. I had the yellow curry, which was excellent, and my bf had the Thai chicken basil dish, also very good. But the real star here was the Thai iced tea...I've had a lot of them in my life, and this was one of, if not the best, that I've ever had. At $4, it's a bit pricey, but it's totally worth it. Food was good but beware if you order takeout. Two weeks ago we ordered takeout which should have included a salad. When I arrived home I discovered that the salad had not been included in our bag. I did not have time to pursue this so I just let it go as an honest mistake. Yesteday I ordered takeout and upon arriving home discovered that the rice which should have been part of our meal was not in the bag. I called to complain and just got an apology. I really like the food here, what little of it there is. This is the second time I've went there for lunch and it looked like they served me a half portion. These are uncommonly small portions. It also took at least 45 minutes for us to get our food. Noodles, vegetables and rice are cheap, don't skimp out on your customers so much. read more

We've ate here many times and have always had great food and service. We arrived at 8:10 last night and the young man hosting told us there was a 45 to 50 minute wait and if we weren't seated by 8:45 we wouldn't be served. We have NEVER had to wait that long for a table. It was crowded but I can't imagine out of all those people, no one would be leaving within the next 35 minutes. Wow. This was the worst Thai food we've ever had. My partner and I shared the pad thai, unami (eel) avocado roll, and shrimp tempura roll (almost $40 altogether). We've lived in many different states/cities and have never had a Thai cuisine experience quite like this. The pad Thai had a stink to it and lacked so much flavor that we considered getting a Covid test. The unami was far from fresh, slimy, and bitter from the first bite to the last taste in your mouth. The shrimp tempura was wet and the shrimp was very hard/chewy/gummy. This is my first Yelp review ever. I've never felt the need to leave a review until now. Save your money. You're better off making your own since good sushi and noodles are hard to come by around here. It's not as hard as you think!! We usually make our own, but my partner wanted to treat me today... The reviews are relatively good so maybe we just ordered on a bad day? We won't be taking another chance though. -- it's been 15min since we ate the few bites we could get down and we're already getting indigestion. $40 burned. read more

The most horrible experience of my life. I brought my daughter and friends there for a "nice" dinner and it ended in a mess. The 5 of us literally sat there for more than an hour. When it arrived, it was cold and like glue! When I asked for the manager , he was not there and they called the police! They made my daughter and her friends - all students at Elon , leave the restaurant. And then we walked outside and had to tell the police what happened. So embarrassing for these kids due to the fact that this restaurant did not do the very basis. I will never go here nor would I recommend it to anyone. Extremely disappointing! read more
