My wife was admitted to a psychiatric hospital on a Thursday Morning on a 5150 hold. From that point on I was nothing but stressed out wandering what was going to happen next. Would the hospital keep her for an extended time, would the hospital give her the wrong medicines and make her worse. Speaking to my wife, She was becoming more depressed each day she was in the hospital. She needed quiet and needed to sleep but during the night she said some of the patients would freak out, scream and cause all kinds of disruptions to the hospital. She said that there were dangerous patients who talked about killing people and wanted to fight other patients. She told me that she was afraid they weren't going to release her after the initial 3 day hold and she was told by one of the nurses that they were going to place her on a 14-30 day hold. I don't have the right words for this. Michael Simmrin is just the greatest. he is direct, HONEST, really knows his stuff, and has a network of really GREAT attorneys. Specifically Jen. So much to say i don't even know where to start . I was facing almost 2 strikes and even jail time.The DA was very harsh on me, even it being my first time in trouble.Mr simmrin always assured me that everything was going to be alright and that he has my back. I cannot praise enough the compassion and efficiency I encountered immediately upon my first contact with Michael Simmrin. We reached out to him for help getting a family member discharged from a 5150/5250 situation. Under the 5150 hold, our relative was placed in a psychiatric facility that mostly houses homeless individuals and drug addicts, even former inmates, and is in the habit of extending their holds while securing more permanent solutions for them. They were going to extend the involuntary hold placed on our relative while not having even begun treatment. Needless to say, that environment was not at all appropriate for our relative. I reached out to Michael and within 24 hours, our relative was discharged to seek outpatient care. SIMMRIN Law Group - Attorney Michael is awesome!! I called Michael on Sunday at 1:30 PM regarding a 5150 hold and possible non release from the facility even after the hold was over. These facilities are so corrupt want to collect from insurance they will not release and force to extend to 5250 hold, hearing and on & on. We were so worried and helpless. Michael explained the process, assured us he will get the release from the facility and to help get out of the situation. He moved paper work on Sunday itself. Facility was saying they were not going to release and initially gave hold extension papers, but Michael engaged with facility on Monday morning and was able to get the release before Noon on the same day itself. I just learned today that my insurance authorized another 3 more days after I had gotten out of that hell hole of a psychward/hospital.
