I'm sure that most of you are accustomed to treating your colleagues to cakes on your birthday? For me I used to stop off in one of the many Greggs that now frequents virtually ever town, high street, side street and mall in England, that is until i stumbled upon Simmons! okay their not the best patisserie, bakers in England, but finding this gem just around the corner, well about 2.5 miles around the corner was a delight. We've all seen bakers like this, a window display that makes you want to push your face against the glass in an attempt to taste everything you can see. Everything is fresh and the service is second to none, in my case I contacted them to enquire as to the lead time required to place an order for 60 assorted cakes and pastries and was pleasantly surprised to find that they could take my order the day before over the phone, with no pre payment required. That done the selection they provided was gargantuan, compare with Greggs, i mean a Belgian bun 18cm in diameter, chocolate éclairs of similar length, wonderful individual cheese cakes decorated with fresh fruit and monster muffins so moist and Moorish.
Yes I did pig out that day, well it was my birthday.
Their sandwiches are freshly prepared with any filling you like, although they do keep a supply of freshly made regular sandwiches, rolls etc for those in a rush. read more
