I know most people think getting nails done is just for women, but let me tell you YOURE WRONG! I have been a nail biter my whole life and have always had the stubbiest, saddest nails. My spouse convinced me to do gels to see if it would help me stop biting, as nothing else has ever worked. Spoiler alert! It totally worked! After a few months of gels, my nails are healthy and I have zero urge to bite them. Sometimes I want a fun design, but usually I do a natural color with matte finish so no one can tell they're gel. I went to this salon with my wife because Sima told us I could get a pedicure while she got her manicure. However, the experience was terrible. Sima was unprofessional and started cursing at my wife as soon as she saw her, using the F-word and demanding to know why she left a review. My wife stayed only because another nail tech offered to do her nails, but Sima kept showing anger and even said she doesn't care about Google reviews. This is not how you treat customers. I went to this nail salon three times, and two out of those three visits were disappointing. I scheduled an appointment, but Sima was not there when I arrived. One time, she admitted she forgot, and another time, she claimed she never agreed to that date. Upset... she did a good job as far as nail art goes but I paid $130 for a Russian hard gel structured manicure. She did gel x for me. I knew it was gel x and told her it wasn't a Russian manicure because she did it in 45 min and didn't prep my nails at all. She just used a nail drill. Didn't even cut my cuticles. She just applied the gel x tips and no structure or anything. Less than a week later my nail popped off and she claims it's because I was doing something wrong with my nails. I went back to get the one nail fixed and asked if she could add structure so my nails don't pop off like they usually do when I just get gel x and she said that this was a Russian manicure. When I told her Russian manicures were about the way the nail is prepped and showed her videos, she told me every nail tech has different tools they use and that she's been doing this for 8 years. I'm close with my Russian manicurist in Florida and she told me I got lied to. Sima cut corners to make it appear as though she's doing a Russian manicure but did a gel x with a Russian manicure price. I know these nails are gunna likely be off come next week which really upsets me because the whole reason I'm okay with paying for a Russian manicure is because it lasts me so long. My WORST Experience in A Nail Salon EVER! Although the shop is beautifully designed and extraordinarily clean - the Owner and Staff need to really know that unprofessional behavior in front of customers and charging high prices for LESS THAN BASIC service will not be tolerated in a competitive marketplace. $25 Basic Manicure did not include any use of lotion nor cuticle oil. There was no arm massage. I was given one coat of Polish. This was the lowest level of manicure service of any nail shop in Los Angeles. My $50 Basic Pedicure w/ Callus Removal was quick with no massage. My Nail Tech did a nice job on other aspects of the Pedicure and was extremely pleasant and professional. No prices are posted in the shop. When a young customer questioned a $235 charge being posted to her parents' AMEX - the Owner called her "crazy" and started a loud and insulting conversation in a foreign language with a Nail Tech. If a Customer asks to tip in cash....let them tip in cash. For Heaven's Sake do not start a WAR in front of a first time customer. I will not be a second time customer. As pretty as this salon is, the Owner and Staff need to step up on Customer Service. read more

I went in here to get a gel x fill (where you take off your full gel x set and redo them). Which she did not do. She started filing them down and I asked her to take them all off and redo them as you're supposed to with gel X she told me she knew that's how you're supposed to do it but she said this way they would last way longer and they are way stronger. I told her I didn't want to do that way. I had one nail that was already coming off and another one that was about to come off. I could tell she got upset I asked her to do something she didn't want to but that's the way I prefer to get them done. She continue to file them all down and said please just let me do it this way, they will last way longer I promise. I caved and let her do it. (her way was to file The old plastic gel X tip and then put a thick clear gel X polish over it then paint over that... ) Another client came in later on that she supposedly have done her nails before. She comes over to show her her grown out nails and she points to me and goes "see she's had these for three weeks and they're still on their strong". I said oh wow nice... then she said under her breath "told you so" but loud so I could hear it. I swallowed my anger cause I still needed a pedicure. But yeah the brand new one she fixed completely fell off and my thumb and two other fingers are already falling off here's a picture of one of my hands. First time going here. I scheduled and appointment to get a simple manicure and called ahead of time to see if I can come in early. First of all, the girl who answered the phone answered with no type of customer service at all. Just a dry hello. I wasn't even sure if I was calling the right place at first. I walk in and didn't het a warm welcome at all. A lady, I'm not sure if it was Sima turned around and walked up to a white man who walked in after me and asked him what he needed. He told her I was there, first and she just responded, "Yeah, I know" and proceeded to talk to the other customer, then asked me what can she help me with. I told her, "Nothing." Put the menu down and walked right out. The salon didn't smell too good and it didn't look like there was anyone else even working. I came here for a regular pedicure for a trip I was going on. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience as the polish used was so thinned out with acetone that a few hours later the polish was peeling and sliding off of my nails. As a licensed cosmetologist myself, I know thinning out polish with acetone is common but it is important that only a few drops are used so the chemical makeup of the nail polish isn't compromised. This polish was so thinned out that it was burning (the e-file cut me a few times) when it was applied. I told the nail artist that any white (any other color really) would be fine because I could see that it wasn't working but she insisted on using the color. I contacted the salon to come to a resolution and they offered to redo the pedicure the next day but due to my trip I wasn't able to come in. They said they "wished I could" and when I reiterated that I was not able to come in and asked what else they could do to make it right, they read the message and never responded. read more

This happened a few months ago but every time I pass this place, it still bothers me. I made my first (and only) appointment at Sima through their online reservation system for myself and my mom. We were getting our nails done for a wedding and I thought I had done thorough enough research in selecting this salon to treat my mom as she was visiting from out of town. When arrived for our appointment (on time) we saw a few people waiting but that didn't worry me as we had an appointment. One of the technicians peered up momentarily while with another customer and asked how she may help us. I told her my name and that my mother and I had an appointment for two manis, one pedi. She said "I'm sorry but maybe come back in an hour." I reiterated we had an appointment but she said it would still be an hour at least. I explained we had an event to get to and could not wait. We promptly left. Luckily, we were able to find another salon who could take us as walk-ins. The unprofessionalism floored me but I am happy to see they are rated appropriately here. read more
