I'm so sorry that this review is 2 years overdue but I can't recommend Brown Masonry and Mr. Brown…read moreenough. Yelp really came through with this find. It was nice dealing with a veteran owned business that feels really personal with a hands on owner. For some stupid reason 1 side of my wall was basically missing a row of blocks. I've always HATED that my neighbor and I could stare into each other's patio doors without trying. I never wanted to offend him by asking to build the wall up but I took advantage to bring it up as they were moving out. He said yeah he hated it too so go for it. He's on the HOA board so my architectural request got approved within days and the search for a mason began. I got a bunch of responses to my Yelp project request with some saying they don't do small jobs like mine, some crazy quotes of 2k (assume that was F off pricing). Luckily Mr. Brown responded with an incredibly fair quote after I sent details and photos and I think he stopped by the next morning to drop off samples to make sure the colors matched. We got it scheduled pretty quickly and his in person quote was a little lower than the text quote, which has never happened before. It really says what a good and honest person you're dealing with. His guy came out on time, was nice and did a great job. The only issue was that I didn't think I had to mention the mortar should match the existing not match the block color. I didn't pay attention and only caught it after it was done. Mr Brown came out to take a look and his suggestion was to cover the brown mortar with grey. It's not an exact match (I knew it wouldn't be) but it's good enough and I really appreciate his quick response. Masonry work isn't something that comes up often but I will use Brown Masonry again any chance I get. Thank you so much Mr. Brown

We had contacted several masonry companies, with Mr. Brown's team by far the most straightforward, honest and upfront throughout the process. Highly recommended

Remember when customer was king? You know you hire someone to do a job for you and they did it…read moreright, on time and no games? Well do not hesitate to use this company. This business is the real deal and you should be confident choosing them. From the moment we called the office, the professional, courteous, efficient and pleasant staff is impressive. And whether you contact them via phone or email they respond in a timely manner. For example; as soon as the owner quoted us a price for work we wanted done the proposal was emailed to us within one hour, and as soon as the building inspector would come for inspections I would call the office to let them know he was here but they already knew and they were always ready to tell us what the next step was. If we had questions and called the office they always pleasantly answered them and if they didn't know the answer they would find out and call back immediately. Paperwork was sent immediately, following up on something again was always done in a timely manner. They are on the ball! I think we all know how rare an efficient office is these days! What a pleasure to work with people who take pride in their jobs. Thank you Magaly and Yesica! As soon as we met the owner Javier we knew we were going to hire him. He went into such detail about the retaining wall we wanted, it was impressive. He is professional, courteous yet a down to earth super nice person. He quoted us a price and that's what we paid, no games no extras no BS! In fact while he was still building our wall we hired him for more work! Javier knows how to run a business which is so rare today. Javier is available to speak with you anytime and he gives you a business card with his cell phone and he answer his phone! His payment policy is extremely fair too and it's because he gets the job done and done right! Now about the men who do this unbelievable hard work. These men will embarrass even the fittest of the fittest! They work so hard and non stop and I really don't know how they do it. They worked in some record breaking heat but still managed to dig a 65 foot long trench pulling boulders out of the ground BY HAND IN ONE DAY! Then the next day they built the 65 × 4 foot cinder block wall in under 4 hours. They just kept going and going. They are extremely respectful and very courteous. In fact they were so quiet I never knew they were out there. They kept our property immaculate from any kind of debris and the work site was ALWAYS clean and neat. In fact some dirt came off their truck when they left (they didn't know it) and when they came back the next day without being asked THEY IMMEDIATELY CLEANED IT UP!!!! These guys are awesome! The men who put the veneer stone on did an outstanding job. Absolutely beautiful work. They were meticulous. They too worked their ass off in the heat. Because of how impressed I was with the office, Javier and the hard working guys and BEFORE they finished the first job I added to the job. I added veneer stone on the columns on my patio and my BBQ and it too looks absolutely beautiful!!!. And again they were so meticulous and very courteous to our property. In fact, when we got home and looked outside they were done and long gone but they surprisingly cleaned our patio up!! something we neglected purposely because we knew men would be working on it. And Javier works with you. He sent pictures of stone to choose from and the one I had my heart set on (for 2 years) wasn't in the choices. I was devastated and didn't sleep all night. I thought I've been staring at a particular stone on a neighboring home for 2 years dreaming of one day my house getting that same stone and how stupid I was not to tell this to Javier before I hired him. Well Javier came to our house the next day and I showed him a picture of the stone I wanted. He knew exactly what the name of the stone was, he drove by the house that had the stone on it and I got what I wanted and my yard looks beautiful (I should have just called Javier and I wouldn't have lost any sleep!) See its not just about the money.... Javier wants you to be happy, really happy! This is by far the best company I have ever dealt with and I am 100% satisfied with them. Thank you so much Sierra Masonry. You did such great work and we will be calling you in the future to continue more beautiful work on our home!

My wife and I will be relocating to Las Vegas from the East coast and recently completed…read moreconstruction of our forever home in one of Las Vegas' newest planned communities. I manage large capital projects for a Government agency, so I understand design and construction...but absolutely nothing about pools or the Las Vegas market. So we spent months researching before deciding to actually contact two (2) national chains and one (1) local company to discuss our vision and get estimates. Besides the obvious customer reviews and feedback, we were most interested in the company's project portfolios. We wanted to be sure the company had a history of creating the total backyard environment we envisioned. All three (3) had extensive experience creating the environments we wanted for our back yard...a complete package that included a desert landscape theme with lighting and irrigation, free-form pool with wet-deck and Zion-like rock waterfall, stand-alone spa, pergola-covered seating area and fire pit. All three (3) companies were able to send someone out to the house relatively soon after initial contact. Danny Lovio arrived exactly when he said he would and spent the first few minutes introducing himself and California Pools. Then...he spent the next hour LISTENING to our vision...asking questions to clarify, offering suggestions and alternatives...but more LISTENING than talking. And we had some very specific expectations and desires...specific color palette, pool features, landscape elements, sight lines, etc. As I would expect from a designer, he made sure we understood the process, limitations of our lot and budget...and he offered alternatives that might enhance our design vision and operations/sustainability. The one thing he DIDN'T do...was try to force his design vision onto us. He was very up-front about the potential cost and promised to put together a plan that fit both our vision and budget. At the end of the session, we were favorably impressed enough to pay the $250 design fee and move forward with the design/estimate process. All three (3) companies estimated 2-3 weeks to get back to us with the concept design and estimate. One (1) week later, Danny sent us his design concept package and detailed cost proposal. The design included the 3D video and the 5-page proposal included a detailed breakdown of all the elements...excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, equipment packages, decking, landscape, etc...to include add/deduct options that would allow us to tweak our budget. To say that Danny "nailed it" would be an understatement. He captured everything we envisioned...only better. What was really impressive, was that he managed to relay exactly what we envisioned to his landscape consultant...who also nailed exactly what we had in mind. We asked Danny to make a couple minor adjustments to the spa and color of the waterfall...but we essentially had a final plan we loved within 2 weeks of initial meeting. Construction schedules are a nice planning tool, but seldom survive the first shovel of dirt. Caliche soil, rain, wind, temperatures, labor disputes...can devastate the schedule. The construction manager's challenge is to adjust to those issues to keep the project moving forward and manage the customer's expectations. Mario Villegas is one of the best...always keeping us aware of progress with pictures and videos...and making us aware of any potential problems. The actual schedule exceeded the original 12 week schedule, but delays were legitimate weather issues...and we always knew what was happening. Throughout the process, I got the strong sense that we received the same level of attention to detail he would give to a family member. And besides being good at his job, Mario is one of the nicest, most genuine, people I've ever met. That goes for Danny too! Bottom line...this was a great experience for us with an amazing outcome. If you are in the market for a new pool, you owe it to yourself to give Danny, Mario and California Pools a close look.
