The staff are always on hand to show you where things are, but are pretty clueless about actually recommending anything. It's a good place to browse if you need some extra furnishing for a new place, but don't expect to be overwhelmed with desire.

No confidence in being satisfied with end product based on such inefficient service. So much choice from alternative independent furniture retailers both online and on the high street, T.R. Hayes is best avoided.

Twice a year they give a discount on pots and pans if you trade in your old ones, which are then passed to Oxfam. The staff are all friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and all seem to be experts in one area of cooking or another, so you can ask them their opinion on products, or get advice on how to use something. There are sometimes product demonstrations in the shop, so if you are lucky there is something nice to sample whilst you are browsing.
