We too our dog here while traveling through as he was having some paw issues. Making an appointment was quick and easy, the receptionist even gave great directions to find the place (it's off the road so keep an eye out). The veterinarian was incredibly friendly. She was able to answer all of our questions, was sweet to our dog and helped outline next steps for his recovery. The vet tech was also very helpful. They are very moderately priced and seem to have payment options for limited budgets. I'd definitely recommend coming here, whether from in town or traveling through. read more

1-THEY LET DOGS WITH PARVO IN THE FRONT OFFICE. 2- dr was unprofessional and a hustler for your money 3- they ask you to put your pets on a dirty scale that they obviously don't clean. I needed to get my puppies their shots so I took them in, the first time vet Dawkins, the sham, charged us 50 dollars for a quick check up and forgot to mention that using that tool would cost that much, so basically ripped us off.. and told us to come back next week for the shots I'm not sure how she became a vet, so very unprofessional in every way you can imagine. I had to wipe my puppies clean because that place was very unhygienic, and especially because they placed the puppies on a dirty scale, didn't even put a newspaper or spray it down. We took our pup in who had a bum toenail. Dr Danielle explained the issue on what will happen with his toenail eventually and in a way we could actually understand. Our previous emergency vet did nothing to explain the situation, and left us feeling a bit clueless and not know what we needed to do. Danielle and her staff were very reassuring on the issue. I love these guys. The prices are great and they listen to the owners. I have taken my dogs in several times and they give you options for their care. They don't require a ton of test to treat our pets. If they did require test they are reasonably priced. Will always take my pets here. So glad the previous vet sold out to these guys. She was insane and super expensive. read more

The two women sold the business. we now have a caring, knowledgeable vet. Can't speak highly enough about him and his staff. And I used to work as a tech in San Marino, CA. Reasonably priced, many labs done in office, i .e. bloodwork, etc. You don't have to drive 75 miles for a decent vet anymore!!!! read more

This is no longer Hot Springs Animal Clinic, it changed to Sierra Vet Services in 2012. Horrific experience. I'm new to town. My husband took my dog here and this horrible vet misdiagnosed the dog, gave him the wrong medication for the issue, and the instructions on how to use the medication were wrong too. My poor dog suffered needlessly an extra two weeks with the wrong medication applied in a way that was painful to the dog. I knew what this horrible vet had prescribed was the wrong medication because my dog has a specific issue that I've been dealing with for 5 years. When I brought my dog back for a follow up with the 5 years of paperwork showing his medical issue that is part of what prompted the first visit, this horrible vet pretended to retest the issue and lo and behold "oh wow, now it's a bacterial infection!" Now???? It always was, the little giggle by this horrible vet when she told me this proves she knew she f*cked up and instead of admitting it, she lied and promptly got incredibly defensive and condescending. She told me she could not diagnose my dog with the vet notes that went along with the 5 years of medical history that I had (she claimed the only way she could diagnose the dog is if the 3 other vets who had treated this dog for this condition faxed her all of their medical records), but she could tell me the medication I wanted was the wrong one, and the monthly steroid shots would be a better treatment (despite my having tried that unsuccessfully as the initial course of treatment). And then she turned and flounced out of the room. Yes flounced. While I was still asking questions because stupid me, I thought she was a medical professional. But she is not. She is unskilled and a liar. $250 to this horrific vet later and I drove to Las Cruces, found a better vet willing to take the time to examine my dog (Calista Animal Hospital on Calle de los Ninos), look at the medical history I have, and helped me get the medication my dog needed to heal from the latest outbreak due to his medical condition Take your animals to this awful, horrible woman at your and your animal's peril. I will never return and will tell people what a horrible vet she is every chance I get. This includes a letter to the state's vet board to report her misbehavior. In the meantime, go to Calista or really any other vet. Your pet will thank you. read more

Unless you are looking to have a bad experience, don't go here. Dr. Danielle Dawkins has been voted 'Least Friendly' by the community. She is guaranteed to talk down to you and be offended by your questions. The labs and exams performed by her don't seem to be thorough and will leave you wondering why you even brought your pet there to begin with. Ask the community for references. read more

I have my two chihuahuas in that clinic since 2012,everything is good if you don't ask questions about your dog been limping after the visit ,call to see if they knew if something happened the veterinarian answer she right away respond very upset, I said I'm not accusing you ,she told to shut up ,I oh my God you don't have people skill also she hand up ,I don't know if she is on medication, but I'm not planning to take my dogs there. read more

Sissy, our Shih Tzu, has problems sometimes when we go to different areas. Environmental allergies!! As full time RVers our environment changes from place to place! Spent a little time in the town and was told this was the only vet in area. My Service dog landed on a cactus and got some thorns stuck in his paw. I got all but one, which became infected. The vet barely gave me time to explain when she told me it looked like Cancer, CANCER! She went on about how bad it looked and she could schedule an operation in a few weeks. Of course no follow up. Bad enough for the smug attitude, but to terrify a disabled person with a false and potentially fatal diagnosis of their service animal is appalling. I would never return. read more

It is unconscionable that this vet's office, the only one in town, would close for 4 days for the July 4 holiday and not provide an emergency on-call vet. My beautiful, happy, loving dog died from a major health event and his suffering was extreme and prolonged because this vet would rather enjoy a 4-day weekend than make sure the animals in this community receive the care and compassion they need when they need it. read more
