Last night, myself and several members of my party were inappropriately grabbed and cussed out by an employee who was so drunk he could neither speak nor stand straight. When we first came in he was sitting at the bar in a Farrell's Lounge shirt and clearly drunk beyond description, so I assumed him to be a regular and didn't think any more about him until one of my friends returned from ordering, and was uncomfortable because he had been grabbing her shoulders. Looking over at him again throughout the night, it was clear he was more than comfortable to continue to do this to the other women at the bar. The bartenders seem unbothered by this obnoxious, drunk behavior. There is no way they didn't see this drunk man invading the personal space of the other patrons. Around 1:30, he stumbles to our table, and in a drunken slur, makes sure we're all tabbed out. He'd gotten some glasses earlier, but again due to his incredible drunkenness and inappropriate behavior, I thought maybe he just grabbed glasses and checked with patrons to help the bartenders. Anyway, while asking if we've tabbed out, he had some kind of grabbing tool and said if we weren't tabbed out we'd get, "a butt grab," and he then proceeded to use the grabber to grab at my chest, trying for my nipple based on where it landed. I gently pushed the tool away and said, "Don't do that." He laughed and tried to squeeze my nipple again, at which point my brother intervened and said, "He said don't do that." This belligerent drunk laughed and stared trying to grab my brother's nipple with it, so my brother tried to take the grabber from this drunk, telling him to, "respect other people's personal space." (I'm not paraphrasing here - my brother was angry, but could tell this man was wasted, so he was being neither harsh nor callous.) At this point, the drunk with the Farrell's Lounge shirt and the ponytail started to scream (and slur) at all of us, telling us over and over again to, "GET THE FUCK OUT." Again, because we didn't think he should be molesting us. We left but waited outside since we had one last party member in the bathroom while all this happened. The drunk opened the door and told us to go away. I finally asked, "Man, do you even work here?" The drunk in the Farrell's Lounge shirt with the ponytail responded very proudly (but not clearly), "Yes I do." While I was initially hoping for the "best", that this man who molested and cussed out my party was just a drunk that the bartenders irresponsibly overserved and refused to handle, that wasn't the case. The indescribably drunk man who ran his hands on one of my group, threatened us with a butt grab while grabbing for my nipple, and cussed at us for having a problem with that behavior is loudly and proudly an employee of this establishment. I've never had a staff member of any bar I've been to at any time in any city be so drunk, perverted, and rude. What a disgusting man. What a disgusting business to allow someone like this to work for it. It's clear from how emboldened he felt to behave this way, and how the bartenders refused any intervention, that this is just how Sideways operates. Obviously, I'll never be back and will make sure everyone I know who enjoys Dickson never comes here again read more

One of the best places on Dickson as far as beer selection and chill atmosphere goes. This is one of the only places in northwest Arkansas with a shuffleboard table which is my family's past time! I just moved to Arkansas, and went alone last night to celebrate the Chief's win but had to use the restroom before grabbing myself a drink. Someone was BEATING up against the door while I was going and it honestly scared me. When I opened the door a man was standing outside of the door clearly ready to slam into it again, so when I walked up to the bar to order a drink I felt the need to let the bartender know that a MAN was BEATING ON THE WOMENS RESTROOM DOOR. He told me it was THE OWNER OF SIDEWAYS, and then told the owner what I'd said. The owner felt the need NOT to apologize, but to come up to me and tell me that because he was the owner it was totally acceptable to do that because his wife/co-owner needed to use the restroom. His wife then came up to me to explain that she was also the owner and that she had needed to use the restroom. The woman was more polite but the man was clearly trying to intimidate/scare me. I was so scared and uncomfortable I asked for the tab and immediately left. Easily the WORST bar experience I'd ever had. read more

My friends and I had a great time at Sideways! They had some really fun music and a fun vibe with pool tables and plenty of seating.

One of the great places in Fayetteville for beer selection (and beer specials), laid back atmosphere, taking in a ball game (tv), and shooting a game of pool. Always good music playing including some 70's and 80's tunes I love. Great friendly servers, about 80% college age patrons, this place can get crowded and loud at times. It's no secret, there are plenty of 4-5 star bar choices around town, this is not the only one, but this one is worth the hop when on Dickson. On our most recent visit, I was especially impressed as Sideways hosted an event to collect toys / donations for the Northwest Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation. We love to participate in events like this and hope to see more, keep up the great community work!! When visiting, I suggest toting a Wicked Wood Fired pizza from Shulertown (food truck, about a block away) as Sideways doesn't serve food and you won't find better pizza anyhow... read more

I've only been once, but I already love this place! 60 beers on tap. 70 bottled beers. 2 pool tables and a shuffle board table - all free (well, the tables not the beer). The billiard tables have plenty of room around them, and built-in drink ledges against the walls make them even more comfortable. Soo glad there's a shuffle board in Fayetteville! There are flat screen tv's all over the place to watch whatever game is on, and it's a large space that seems like it can hold a lot of people. I've only gone on a week night so not sure what it's like on the weekend. It doesn't face Dickson. Just walk up the alley/drive-thingy between Bangkok Cuisine and Wasabi and it will be on your left toward the end of the building. Paid parking is directly behind the building, and free parking is behind the building with Wasabi. read more

Sideway's has one of the most extensive collection of beers on tap in Fayetteville. They have all of the classics, seasonals, and some great micro brews. It is also a fun and relaxing atmosphere that is a nice change from the rowdy college bars down the street. read more

Not a bad bar for the Dickson area. The drinks are priced like most Dickson bars but prepared with some love. The interior is set up well with sufficient seating for lower capacity crowds. Like most Dickson bars, it tends to get crowded sometimes. It's a great place for the occasional visit. There is a pool table in case you like to shoot and there is usually someone around willing to shoot. Friendly staff/crowd, nice venue, and off the beaten path. read more

Sidways is one of my favorite spots on Dickson when I am in the mood to move around. I love playing pool and shuffle-board. So, if you're in the mood to move around and socialize, this is a great place to go. Their bartenders are really good at what they do as well, and the selection of craft beer on tap is insane. I think there are over 30 options, as well as bottled beer in their two big refrigerators. If you're wanting to watch the game, they also have a few TVs. It's not a place I would call a sports bar or the best place to watch a game, but they at least have enough to peak up and see the scores or watch when not socializing. read more

Great dive-y bar with about 60 rotating beers on tap, an impressive whiskey collection, and friendly bartenders. I would have been pretty meh about this place, but they make their own ginger beer in house, and it's DELICIOUS. It's well balanced between the pungent spiciness of the ginger and sweetness of the soda. Honestly, just get a moscow mule or the gingerbeer with whatever liquor of choice, and play some pool and shuffleboard. read more

Visited 8/12/10 I've been slowly looking for a bar to call home here in Fayetteville, and Sideways might just be the place. A strong tap wall, a good refrigerator case, and a friendly bartender are all requirements, and Sideways had them in spades on Thursday night. I attended a function for some graduate students there, and had a fantastic time. there were at least 45 or 50 of us, and the room felt both intimate, but uncrowded. The pool tables were well kept, the shuffleboard table was one of the best i've ever played on, and the service was outstanding. $2 Honey Brown pints was one of the specials, and they were served fast and cold. there was even a little alleyway out back for people to stand and smoke. The room was comfortable, not over-decorated, and very much the sort of non-pretentious beer bar that i enjoy. While i did not order any mixed drinks, friends who did said they were well mixed, not over priced, and again, served with a smile. I'm certainly going back to Sideways, and I encourage all of you to try it for yourselves. read more

Sideways is hands down the best bar on Dickson St.! It's atmosphere is what really draws me in. The bartenders are some of the most friendly people you will meet and they have probably 50 beers on tap (there's too many to count!). Sundays offer a great bottled beer blow out and every other night has some sort of beer and shot special. On Friday and Saturday nights it gets really busy and loud but still a good time. The rest of the nights it's usually a chill place to go after work, play a game of pool or shuffleboard, watch tv and just chat it up with some great people! read more

I lived in Fayetteville for 3 years. Sideways had been open for almost two of them. This is not only my favorite bar in Fayetteville, it is my favorite bar of all the bars i've ever been to, that includes bars in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, San Diego, and many other cities. Fancy yourself a beer drinker? this is the spot for you. Something like 64 beers on tap and over 100 more in bottles. They also offer up wine and liquor. The staff is amazing, always friendly. Go enough and they will remember you and treat you right. Sideways offers shuffle board, 2 pool tables, an internet juke box, mega touch, and golden tee. I cannot say enough good things about Sideways. Everytime i am back in Fayetteville i make it a point to stop in for a drink. If you know you are going to be living here you should make this your place to go. read more

It's a very nice place. Lovely atmosphere. But the temperature was too high, maybe 85 degrees, and the beers I ordered (Boulevard Wheat, drafts) were undrinkable , no carbonation at all. The bartender kindly took them back and replaced them for 2 bottles of my choice. read more
