I don't think very many people know that H&M is a very international company. The first store opened in 1947 in Sweden under the the name Hennes. It slowly expanded into Europe with stores opening in France in the 90s. The U.S. store did not open in New York until 2000. They are now worldwide with stores in Asia, Middle East, Russia and recently Mexico.
