After eating parrilla every night for the last week, I needed a break! La Perla was a short walk…read morefrom our hotel and sounded like a casual, easy place for dinner. It's surprisingly large inside, kind of like a nice cafeteria. The atmosphere is family-friendly and there were many families there. At 9:30, we were the second table to arrive, but it stated filling up quickly around 10 pm. No reservations needed, you can just walk in. The menu is a mix of casual Argentine fare, like milanesas, and Italian pasta dishes like gnocchi (ñoqui) and ravioli. There are some chicken and fish dishes, sandwiches, and salads. My gnocchi bolognese was simple but tasty, with a generous portion. The lomito completo was also simple but good. The aioli-type sauce that came with the bread was tasty and unusually spicy! Prices are very reasonable - everything I saw was under USD$15 and most of it was under USD$10. The wine list is extensive and seemed to be mainly from Argentina, with plenty of bottles for under USD$10. Two entrees, a salad, a bottle of wine, and the minimal cubierto totaled USD$30. The service was polite and friendly, but I didn't see any English menus and our server didn't speak English, so you'll need some basic restaurant Spanish here. A pleasant, affordable family restaurant for a no-fuss meal.

Prices are reasonable and we had a burrata dish that was the best we've had in a long time. We ordered one dish after another so we could share the deliciousness. This restaurant is owned by the same person who owns Papagayo, one of the top eateries in Cordoba.

Two of the people I was with recommended a bunch of dishes and were some of the ones who spoke highly of this place, but honestly...I really did not like it. My friend and I split an appetizer and 2 entrees and they were all very bland. The price was pretty expensive for Cordoba and the food did not justify it. The staff was kind of hovering when not necessary and nowhere to be found when you needed them. As is true for a lot of Argentina, getting the check takes awhile.

This is a place to take into consideration, but seriously, think a lot before going here…read more The place is very nice, cozy and rather sophisticated, here lies the crux of the matter. The place is lovely, they have an excellent selection of wines and after dinner drinks but it is a fine dining place. You have to have a certain formal dressing (even though not enforced, you will feel really bad if you are under-dressed in this place) and some of their dishes require a certain palate to fully enjoy them. Even their wine list is curated by a sommelier so you can get the best of the experience. In general I have enjoyed the experience every time I had dinner here but it is by no means a place for casual dinning. I extremely recommend the place for a fancy night out, try to get a reservation for the 2nd floor as it is rather private an has a view (not at a very nice place but a view nevertheless)
