I have been ordering from this place for over three years now, and quite frankly have never had a bad meal, and they have never gotten my order wrong on a carryout order and I have had many. I'm having trouble ordering anything at Siam Classic - other than the Kee Mao Gai, Som Tom, and Tom Yum - because those are my three have Thai dishes and they do them O' so well! Seab, Sue, and I met here for dinner recently. It had been too long since I had crossed the threshold of Siam Classic, far to long! But I ordered the Tom Yum and Som Tom, very spicy, not a 10, an 8 on the spice level this time - which is still plenty spicy! As always, amazingly delicious! And so hot! Loved it! This was my re-introduction to Thai food (I'm not a huge fan; had a bad experience a while back). The Beau LOVES Thai food, so this was also my time to try to get into something he's in to. We went around 6p on a Wednesday. There were two other tables of people in there, and eventually two more came in. The atmosphere is calm and intimate, tables are not spaced very far apart (it's a small place, not much space). Unfortunately, the lack of space makes for an not-so-intimate setting, as you can overhear pretty much any conversation in the restaurant. Per the Beau's suggestion (from experience at other Thai restaurants-- this was his first time here too), we ordered the steamed dumplings and the fried wontons. Both appetizers were really good-- I really liked the Thai twist on the steamed dumpling. The fried wontons were tasty, not stuffed with more than a pea sized amount of meat, though. (Check out the pictures of all 4 of the dishes). For dinner, I ordered the Pad Normai (which is stir fried asparagus in garlic sauce), with medium spice and chicken. I was pleasantly surprised to be kinda kicked by the medium spice (and I LOVE spicy food). I ordered it without basil or cilantro (not sure if it came with it but I avoid both spices like the plague); there was a lot of meat in the dish, thankfully, but no baby corn, though the menu said it came with baby corn. I found it kind of bland (despite being kinda spicy for medium) but then again I AM giving up added salt for Lent, so, that could have had an effect. The Beau ordered Crispy Duck. I tried it and I must say it was chewy and tasted like sausage, but I'm not a big fan of duck (it doesn't morally sit well with me) so I really had nothing to compare it to. The Beau agreed that it was chewy; he also said there wasn't a whole lot of meat in the dish (it did seem to have more onions than meat). He also said it wasn't very spicy for the "American" level he ordered it at and it was too sweet. This guy is a Thai food connoisseur, so he knows what he's talking about. We most likely won't be back here. I most likely won't eat Thai food again (honestly, all it is is spicy Chinese food... I don't get it). read more

I was craving Pad Thai & Thai tea. I want to help support our local small businesses and decided after seeing the great Yelp reviews for Siam Classic that I would try it. I called in my order for takeout and was told 10 min I arrived in 15 min and it was ready. The people were friendly and the food and Thai tea was delicious. Went here for a holiday get together and I was thoroughly impressed. The spicy coconut soup I got for an appetizer was beautifully presented in Thai porcelain. My pad Thai was also good. The service was very quick and the price was certainly right. If in the area, I would definitely come back. Next time, though, I think I will order up on the spice level (I think i did 4 chilis and it wasn't spicy enough for my palliate) and I would probably also ask for a stronger Thai iced coffee. But again, that's just a personal taste issue for me. Since the place is pretty small and gets packed, I would definitely recommend a reservation for a large party. read more

When I got there, the server tried to make me pay again when I already had paid online and even after explaining that fact, he still had to talk to someone else about it before giving me my food. This quaint little Thai eatery is nestled in olde town Manassas. My first time trying it and I'm very happy. The chicken wanton appetizers are delicious, the chicken pad Thai is not bad (I've definitely had better but the portion is generous). The beef massuman curry is absolutely amazing, the beef is very tender, the sauce taste fresh and the rice is also fresh. Overall this little spot is a winner. This place is very random. I accidentally stumbled upon it driving down 28. We decided to have lunch since Thai food is one my favorites. I ordered the drunken noodle! I loved all the fresh veggies in my drunken noodles. I hate when Thai places only add onions then whatever meat you select. I ordered Thai hot. It was very hot but it did not have flavor. It was missing the actually drunken noodle sauce (mixture of soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar). I found that to be odd. I'm Very picky with the noodles as well. The noodles here are wide and thick! Unlike some other Thai places I've been to. My girlfriend ordered chicken Pad Thai. Everything about it was perfect from the sauce, heat, and texture of the noodles. Right in between sweet and savory the way it's suppose to be. For lunch they also served fried wontons and another option of coconut lemongrass soup! It was wonderful! The fried wontons were delicious! There were tiny pieces of minced pork I believe. Great price, but has a practice of using vinegar in their food. It's a little bit odd for my palate while eating Thai, and that's not the thing. The thing is vinegar is sometimes used to preserve food (read: this restaurant could be using vinegar in their food so they can stretch their prepared food for as long as possible). Great for their bottom line, bad for my digestive system. How many of you know that restaurants which practice reheating leftovers more than once can earn a reputation for causing food poisoning? I don't understand but there was only one table and they already leaving when she got our orders. She never checked back if we need anything or not. I am appalled at the service I received here today. I have been a loyal customer for two years now. I ordered my food online at 10:08. The website said the food would be there by 11:15. 11:30 comes around, and I give them a phone call to see where it is. The man said that the food should be there in 25 minutes (so at that point it would be almost 12.) I said fine, whatever. 12 comes and no one has dropped off my food. I call back and the owner HANGS UP on me. He told me the driver cancelled and he would send one of his employees to drop it off. We call back asking for a refund, and he said he would just cancel my order. I am absolutely livid. It is now 1:00 and no one came to deliver my food nor given me a refund. Never in my life have I received such disrespect from a business. I will be taking my business to Thai Thyme across the street. I am a teacher with a very limited lunch break. I am now out 40 dollars and hungry, without being able to eat lunch today. I can easily buy overpriced curry and sticky rice elsewhere. Thanks for nothing Siam classic. read more

Appetizers ordered: Chicken Satay Sesame Beef Duck Salad Golden Bag (get your mind out of the gutter; I had to do the same) Entrees ordered: Sesame Noodles w beef Red Curry with chicken House Seafood It's easier to say what I didn't go crazy over: red curry, duck salad and chicken satay. That's not to say I didn't enjoy them, they just didn't blow my dress up. The sesame beef and sesame noodles were *outstanding*. Seriously. I would order them over and over I enjoyed them so much. I also thought the sauce for the house seafood dish was wonderful with rice and it was also heavy with seafood (I liked the scallops the most). Service was a real knockout. I have been wanting to come to Siam Classic for ages and finally got the chance and I took it. It lived up to everything I've read about it. It is seriously a gem of Manassas. The food is amazing. I got Drunken Noodles, number 8 spiciness. I like spicy and this was my at my highest tolerance for still enjoying the dish. Any higher and I would have had to return it. The noodles were done just right and the addition of all the fresh bell peppers made for an excellent dinner. The service was pretty good. Not terribly engaging but they did what they were supposed to do and take my order, deliver it correctly and timely. I had a bite of my wife's Pad Thai and it was perfect. Seriously perfect. This review is based on delivery. The food arrived 50 minutes after I ordered but was still warm upon arrival. Dishes: Chicken Ka Prow- It was weak and lacked flavor but edible . Grilled Beef Salad- This is a favorite dish of mine and I always order it when I try a new Thai place. Much to my disappointment though this was the WORST one I've had. The vegetables were old and wilted. The beef which is suppose to be lean grilled strips looked to be the fat knobby cast offs of the night. I tried but I couldn't eat it. It's been two years since my last visit so I've been overdue. Ben had the curry chicken and I had the baked salmon. We shared the crab ragoon appetizers and the larb gaa salad. The crab ragoon was excellent. Most times when I've tried this, they are dry and brittle with little flavor and taste. These were probably the best I ever had. They were moist, flavorful and delicious. The way they serve the larb gass was very different. You know how when you go to PF Changs and you get the lettuce wraps? Thats they way they do it here, except for the lettuce didn't come off like it does at PF Changs and were not suitable for a wrap. We just cut the lettuce up and mixed it in with the salad. It was quite tasty, not too spicy or overpowering, you get a nice blend of spices and flavors. Ben was pleased with his curry chicken and said it was probably the best he had ever had. My salmon was excellent, great flavor and fresh. It was a nice sized portion as well and plenty for a meal. On the menu it says it comes with broccli and asparagus. I was surprised when there were also purple onions and red bell peppers. A lady came by, who we believed was the manager. I told her about it and she looked at the menu and agreed with me. She said next time, just tell them you don't want any peppers or onions and it's no problem...everything we make here is ...to order. Hmmm...isn't that good to know. The service here is really good. I come here 1-2 month for carry out. The staff are always extremely courteous and the food comes out quick. Sometimes I have found that their interpretation of hot (1-10) is a bit different from cook to cook. There is a middle-ish aged woman that always stops to say hello to me. Reasonably priced and the food isn't bad, but this is Americanized Thai food.... Bland instead of the hearty spiciness I expect from authentic Thai. Under New Management This place was sold about a year ago I think. I remember the previous owner was very hands on, and she was stressed. She did almost all the cooking, and after the restaurant closed she went home to do the accounting. She did a great job. She ran a great restaurant and cooked some great, great food. One of the waiters they had was I think a nephew or otherwise related to the owner. He was cool, and I'm going to miss him. But the new management is still running a pretty good restaurant. They seem to have tweaked the menu a little bit. One thing that I think is new is the Royal Pad Thai. It's pad thai with chicken prepared I think fried, and it is an awesome compliment to the traditional dish. They had a very friendly Thai waitress who was there every time we went. We chat her up as much as we can asking about the restaurant and where she's from in Thailand. But she hasn't been there lately, and the new waiters they have are weird. But when you get right down to it, you can't get better Thai food than this. read more
