The dogs were back for their annual shots and check up last week on Thursday…read more Our German Shepard chasing bears has a torn ligament so he needed to return for xrays and some ear wax treatment on Monday , we rescued him so he is a bit sketchy around strangers so they need to muzzle him at the vets but as usual these people are so great & kind to our animals, that our huge St. Bernard who can barely fit in the van jumped back in to go back when Akiva had to go back for xrays! Now who can say that ? Most dogs are petrified shake and pee all over at the vets ;) Our dogs love this vet ! In 2 countries and 5 cities I have lived and owned pets in, Armstrong Vet is the best and you and your animals will LOVE them too !!

If these guys had charged me $30 or even $40 for a kennel cough vaccination I wouldn't have given…read moreit much thought. But $90 seemed a lot so when I got home I googled "kennel cough British Columbia" and found two items of interest. The first is that the SPCA in Vancouver has a facility at which they give these things and that they charge $29 for kennel cough. (http://www.spca.bc.ca/veterinary-services/vancouver-animal-hospital/adopt.html) Perhaps these veterinarians need some competition. From what I witnessed there is not a lot of skill required to give a dog a spray through the nose and there must be many people in the pet care business who could do it. One has to note a lot of people have an emotional attachment to their pets and it appears veterinarians are exploiting this. The second item was an article by a Vancouver based veterinarian who claimed that kennel cough vaccinations are really not needed. (http://peterdobias.com/blogs/blog/11015065-kennel-cough-vaccine-exposed) It appears that kennel cough is the dog equivalent of the human cold, are generally very mild and usually clears up in two or three days. These vaccinations are required by kennel operators to protect themselves from liability. He suggests that owners leaving pets with a kennel sign a waiver that if their dog gets kennel cough will not hold the operator liable. There has to be ethical concerns about "professionals" who use their monopoly power to exploit the emotions of their customers to charge three times as much as they should.

Fantastic clinic. My puppy was attacked by a big Pyrenean Mountain dog and needed immediate…read moresurgery. They were very responsive. It was 4:30pm on a Thursday and I was able to get an immediate appointment. The staff was very comprehensive and took a very good care of my dog. They put sutures and drain and gave me everything I needed to take care of my puppy. I was able to get my dog back at 8:30 pm. Then they followed every day, included Sunday, to check my dog health. The surgery was very well done and, now, three months later, all the wounds healed completely and there will be no after-effects. I am so glad that I brought my dog there. And the price was very fair. I highly recommend that clinic.

He has small procedure done with Dr. Kaplan, we were concern with his health. We don't have enough words and gratitude for the excellent care Rex is receiving for over ten years from his doctor. The following day we were seeing Dr. Edwards for rehabilitation to keep him moving with his injured legs, we are dealing for the last ten years. Thanks to Dr. Edwards he is still is walking and running, nobody believes he is that old. As always every time we bring Rex in, he is receiving the best service and I know that he is in good hands, being supportive and caring, they provide the best care possible.  The doctors and the stuff are always polite, knowledgeable, courteous and they love the animals. We are coming to Trilake Animal Hospital for many years. I would highly recommend their services to everyone. Great experience every time!  Elizabeth Patora

This is the animal hospital we stuck with after going to 4 different ones in Kamloops. The service…read moreand care provided have always been excellent. We switched after an emergency visit for our cat. We were blown away by the empathy and level of care we received so we decided to switch vets, even though the location isn't the most convenient for us. Unfortunately, the vet that we originally saw no longer works here but the other vets we've seen have all been good so we'll continue coming here. Furthermore, the facilities are always spotless when we come in. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. I also love that the clinic is open on Saturdays, which makes things so much more convenient! Parking is easily found at the lot out front. I honestly can't recommend this clinic enough!

We met Dr Andrew under the worst circumstances. We had a severely injured kitten that needed to be…read moreeuthanized. Despite not knowing us from a hole in the ground or the kitten, and it being very late at night, they came back in from their home for me. We were desperate. All the other clinics" we had contacted....despite it being obviously the kitten was mortally wounded and suffering...said no. Of course during our call to Oriole Road clinic we were crying our eyes out and bawling the entire time. This of course continued through out our visit when we go there. Despite that Dr Andrew patiently and thoroughly examined the patient in a kindest most gentle way. We felt he cared for that kitten as much as if he had known it a long time. We were horribly embarrassed at our blibbering and blowing our nose into a kleenex every 5 seconds, entirely grateful they would not only see us, but were patiently translating the blibbering into coherent English....and despite the bad news we got we were treated with utmost respect and kindness. The kitten was put out of its suffering as was needed. As a purebred Ragdoll Cattery we truly rely on our vets expert advice. They teach us stuff every time we are there...and of course we want absolutely the best care for our fur babies. Its a bit of a trek out to Valleyview, but well worth it. ALL the staff are extremely helpful every time we are there. All the staff are open, honest and caring. Unlike other places, we have never had them pad their bill or try to fear monger you into things that really are not necessary. In fact.... they will try to find ways to save you money. You always get enough info you can arrive at an informed decision and you leave knowing your cat got absolutely the best care and you made the right decision...even when its an awful decision. At Oriole Road their care extends to their Forever Mom and Dad's as well and we thank them for that. Dealing with an obsessed bona fide old cat lady- we know - can be a challenge...They do it with the utmost care and attention.

Over the last 20+ years, 3 of my dogs have gone to Creekside vets. The vets are knowledgeable,…read moreprofessional and gentle. The vet techs are so amazing and supportive. I am one of those overbearing dog moms and they understand that. The only negative thing I would say is I wish they didn't charge so much - a simple 10 minute exam or 5 minute gland squeeze has been as high as $80. And I wish their charges were consistent. Sometimes these short appointments are $35, other times $80 - confusing. My current dog had two dental surgeries a few month's apart. Two vets did the surgeries. Because of their preferences (anesthetic, blood work, medications etc.), one vet charged $580 and the other $720. Of course I would pay anything for my girl, but was just disappointed in the differences. When one of my dogs was attacked and killed by another dog, they allowed me the time in one of the rooms to hold my dog and grieve for her. It was a traumatic time for my family, and the vet techs showed us great sympathy. I regret not formally thanking them for this. Overall, good, long-term people work here and they really try to understand how important the human/pet relationship is, balancing that with necessary, proper and compassionate care of animals.
