Suburban Propane charged my DEAD sister in-law's estate a $120 cancellation fee plus $9.66 in transportation surcharges. She didn't CANCEL, she died! The account stayed active until her house was sold and then was switched over to the people that bought her house - there was no tank removal and no interruption of service, no transportation of any kind. And they did not refund the price of the fuel already in the tank, that my sister in-law paid for. So that's the kind of people you'll be dealing with if you deal with Suburban Propane. From the very first call, Harry treated us like family. He was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also kind, patient, and genuinely caring. He walked us through everything we needed to know, answered every question (no matter how small), and took the time to make sure we felt confident and safe in our decisions. There were a few hiccups along the way--none of which were his fault--and yet Harry stepped up every single time with grace and integrity. Whether it was helping to coordinate service, explaining technical details in plain English, or just following up to make sure everything went smoothly, Harry was there. That kind of service is rare these days. In a world where so many companies treat you like a number, Harry reminded us what true customer care looks like. Now VERY happy to discover that, though the company has been bought by Suburban Propane, I am still getting my terrific personalized care from my same friendly people held-over from Shoshone Propane. We had 2 tanks recertified & filled for a very reasonable amount. The technician that filled the tank was friendly & competent. Overall, a good experience. read more

1/2024, canister recert w/ refill $9, without $18, and their ppg was $0.50 higher than Tractor Supply right up the road. Only place in the area that re-certifies, they know they have your cajones in a vise and screw you over. It was still cheaper to pay their higher ppg than absorb the $18 hit and then go up the street for a fill, but I get majorly pissed off when businesses force me to do things I don't want to do. Returned my call quickly and had answers for the questions I had. Got a quote the next day for extensive work. Quote was very reasonable. Gave them a verbal to do the work and they accomplished the project on time and with no additional charges, although they did more than they contracted for. If I could select 0 stars I would. I just filled up my propane tank in mid September and set up auto refill/payment. This is my first time on propane so I went to check it yesterday and I'm already down to 5% so we called and asked what's going on we have automatic? And every person we talked to said "we don't know why you were skipped" yada yada yada. I just paid almost $400 in mid September for propane and they showed up this morning to fill my tank and left a bill of $904 on my door!!!!! We just called back and they said "we normally fill it at 25% so it's not so much but we don't know why you were screwed over and there's no card on file for automatic payment so you need to come in to pay) THEY CANT GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER AND IS CHARGING ME AS MUCH AS MY MORTGAGE IN ONLY 4 months!!!! "I was absolutely disgusted with the company and how they treat their customer. All this started about the same time that Covid started and before anyone knew if they were going to have a job or unemployment. Calling someone multiple times a day to collect on a bill that it not even past due is harassment. Due to the uncertainty of the situation an agreement to make payments ever week was put on the table but that was not good enough for their technician. He tried to threaten and bully the customer to get payment in full. To allow a representative of a company to treat customers like this during the pandemic is beyond sick. This company should be ashamed of themselves and shame on them for allowing one of their reps to behave in such an unprofessional and heartless manner." read more
