We were taking the place in and were approached by a bartender after about 2 minutes . She provided us with a well prepared cocktail. We danced in very cool laser lights with the locals and had a great time. The place was smokey and we don't smoke, but we had a very nice time there.

Our server brought us drinks we didn't order. They said it was a mistake, and they didn't take them back, they insisted we drink them. But then they charged us... I don't really know what the protocol would be but I somehow feel like this was questionable. I didn't order the drink, they admitted the mistake and insisted we just have the drinks, but then also charged us? I think if they hadn't insisted we just drink them I wouldn't be confused about our 20euro bill.

Although my family loves…read moretex-mex food, we couldn't face going there for a third time (having tried it once and given it another chance). The smokers made it basically impossible to enjoy any food or drink there, at least for us non-smokers. However, since October 07 the federal state of Hessen has a new anti-smoking law and things have changed at the Sombrero. The place is now neatly separated in two halves by glass doors, the bar and the "cocktail corner" is reserved for smokers. Since then we've been back twice enjoying and actually tasting our fajitas, nachos and tex-mex burgers in a smoke-free environment. It's comfy rather than elegant, service is friendly and efficient, and the food is, as can be expected, standard tex-mex fare.

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR AMERICAN TOURISTS…read more If you do not like a lot of people in a warehouse with no windows or doors, don't go here. You will be very claustrophobic. If you don't like cigarette smoke, DO NOT go here because I am pretty sure I might have gotten a lung disease just breathing the air. Had to spend a lot of time getting the smell out of my clothes the days following. The music, especially if you are into that scene, is really good and there are multiple rooms with different Djs. There is also a cheap coat check. Beers are cheap, but the alcoholic drinks were on the pricey side, 6 euro. The place is really gross and dirty and sweaty. I really suggest not getting too dolled up. I refused to go to the bathroom lol. The line took about 30-40min when we go there are 2am. Plan accordingly. Cover is a steep 12 euro.
