A mandir without a full time pujari. everything is self serve. Lots of donation boxes and writing urging devotees to donate generously with suggestions ranging from a mere $2501 to a very reasonable $1000000. This mandir is exactly what a mandir should not be. It is a side business to collect over generous donations from foolish people while minimizing the operating costs. Such places should be investigated for fraud. read more

Very special temple and one of the best I have been to in the Bay Area. Aarti and had some pandits doing Vedic mantra. Good vibration here. I spent lots of time in India aka over three years in India over eight Winters and nine trips so nice to feel a similar vibration not far from the little city by the bay aka San Francisco where I reside that takes me back to Mamma India which is like my second home. Sai Baba was a fakir aka Muslim Holy man. He lived like a Sadhu aka wandering holy man aka ascetic and preached the unity of all religions getting beyond fundamentalism. He helped unite Hinduism and Islam. You can feel his energy in the various murti in this temple. Friendly folks. Lots of people. Pure veg Prasad. Many deities. We will be back! read more

They have divided the area to a Shirdi Sai darbar and the second half has all the gods both North Indian and South Indian style, navagraham, along with Puttaparthi Sai Baba as well. They promptly conduct aartis and bhajans for every God at the their designated times in the day. They also have volunteers throughout the area to assist with anything. Always felt content spiritually whenever I visit. read more

Very positive place with extreemlyyy loud music! The so called recorded arti s are sooo loud that you cannot pray to your God in peace atall. On top, the person with long hair wearing jeans who does arti is very rude. When requested he doesn't even reduce the volume but in fact goes and increases it to the highest possible volume. Also, disrespects devotees. This is what happens when someone gets power and authority with no genuine intention of respect. If you wanna pray, this is not the place. If you want roadside loud music and insults on the name of arti, go here. read more

One of my aunty took me to this temple on dussera day. It was very crowded with lot of people as i went during aarti time. Still i felt very pleasant in the temple and even devotees can give aarti to Sai Baba. They have a lot of parking space. The temple has other gods statues also like Siva, Vinayaka. read more

Peaceful place of workship. One of the best temples in Bay area and accessible to everyone. Every festival is celebrated very grandly and devotees are treated very respectfully. Every God idol is so beautiful and decorated very nicely all the time and temple management gives best experience to devotees.. I have donated for wall of donor programs and I could see my all the funds are utilized well for temple development. My frequent place of visit and recommend everyone to must visit. Pooja is celebrated very traditionally, and devotees are allowed to do Aarthi, sometimes Abhishekam for festivals. How many of us would get such opportunity to do service to good. Also food is served fresh on all days and most of all divine chanting keep playing all the time you are in temple giving very spiritual experience. read more

Shirdi Sai Darbar - Hindu Temples Near Me - Sunnyvale, California

Nobody answers the phone...voicemail is always full. Somebody needs to look into this so people can the right information.

This is one of my favorite go-to temples in the bay area! I've been coming here for couple of years now and my impression about the place is only rising upon my each visit. Appreciate the efforts put in forth by the temple associates, for they do a wonderful job in maintaining the purity of the sanctity and also the traditions. The entire area inside the temple is spacious and apart from Shirdi Sai Baba's shrine in the main prayer hall, there are shrines of other Gods & Goddesses as well viz., Siddhi Vinayak, Shiva, Vishnu, Kali Bari, Navgraha prahar etc. It's called the BayArea Hindu Temple, a part of this Shirdi Sai Darbar. So, whenever I visit this place, I feel like I've offered my prayers to all Gods in one go. Recently attended Shirdi Sai Baba's Palki Procession on Shri Sai Baba Maha Samadhi Festival and I must say, temple organizers did really well. I've joined the other celebrations hosted here and every time I go home with immense peace and happiness. Once I was one among those fortunate devotees to receive Baba's Murthi (Idol) for free. They do distribute Free Baba Murthi every year on temple's anniversary day (Subscribe to their updates, you'l be notified about this every year). Temple authorities treat all visitors and devotees with due respects, which is one of the main reasons why I keep coming here. The temple is clean and street parking is available. Although I warn you to come here early during important occasions. Parking spots around the temple gets full at such times. Sign up in their websites & get emails about Temple updates and announcements, Shirdi Sai Darbar - http://www.shirdisaidarbar.org/ BayArea Hindu Temple - http://bayareahindutemple.org/ (Believe me, their email updates are very useful for me as a devotee). Temple welcomes volunteers for Prasad (Food offering) preparation or distribution, singing in praise of God etc. Interested visitors/ devotees, plz check out their websites. I will keep coming here! Om Shri SaiRam! read more

We have been going to this temple for the past few months; primarily on Thursdays for their Arthi. I believe they have Arthis during weekends too. Although there is ample parking space around the temple, it does get a bit congested with cars especially on days when there is Arthi. As soon as one enters the temple, one can drop off Prasadam with volunteers seated at the table; they get the food blessed by the God before distributing it. At the table, I have also noticed that they save a few copies of the Arthi book, you can use it to recite the Arthi and return it. However, almost all the people that come here know the Arthi by heart and they sing along with some of the volunteers who recite the Arthi in the microphone. With the big crowd coming in and limited space inside the temple, the volunteers do a good job in getting everyone organized. read more

Shirdi Sai Darbar - Hindu Temples Near Me - Sunnyvale, California

Best time to visit this pious place is around Arti time in the evening. Bonus points for prasad (Pooja, rice, yoghurt and seviyan). Thanks to devotees who home cooked the offerings and made it available for all the attendees. The only glitch was the language, as I don't understand Marathi and these was no one chanting Hindi prayers. read more

We love visiting this temple. Such a serene ambience and apart from the Sai side there is also another side of the temple with all the other deities. We had been here this morning ( Saturday ) and there was a Tamil speaking Indian lady volunteer who had such an unpleasant demeanor. We come to the temple for a positive experience. It is commendable what the volunteers do here, but try to have a pleasant face and not look at the devotees who come in with a frown and show unpleasantness when you have to communicate something. It is really off putting when we have to deal with negativity when we come to the temple. read more

First time I visited this temple was in 2017 and instantly I fell in love with this temple. It was a Thursday evening and they were having baba bhajans that day and immediately I felt a positive vibe. After sitting in front of Baba for ~10 mins, I went around the temple and I was pleasantly surprised to see the idols of Dakshinamurthy and Shani which many other temples in this locality don't have. They also had god idols like Siddhivinayak, Karthikeya and Shiva etc and after having their darshan, it felt like I was in India. Since then I have been coming to this temple and I can say with full confidence that not once in the last 5 years, I have had a bad experience. After being a regular to temple, I learnt that the entire temple is run just with the help of volunteers and I was truly astonished to see the amount of effort put by volunteers and mgmt in ensuring devotees have a peaceful darshan. It's hard to imagine such a huge temple run only with the help of volunteers. Big shoutout to the temple volunteers and the temple management in maintaining the serenity of this temple and thus ensuring devotees like us have a pleasant experience each time we visited this temple for worship. Apart from this, I would also like to highlight the effort taken by the temple to provide prasad to devotees, not just on Festive days and Thursdays, but even on a weekday. Volunteers ensure devotees are served with prasadam of some kind and devotees don't leave the temple empty handed. This temple has been a home away from home and the fact that it is right in center of Sunnyvale makes it even better accessibility wise. Please do visit this temple if you haven't already :) read more

Another hindu temple in South bay,I was there with friends and my experience was okay. Ample parking and I like that.

Regular visitor to this beautiful, clean, serene & peaceful temple. Ample parking around..

This temple has an amazing energy. The space is well blessed and the volunteers are very nice and hard working to keep the place clean and running so efficiently. There are hundreds and sometimes thousands of people who come here and there is always room for them to pray and go about their way. Also, the fact that it is located right next to a Buddhist Temple and a Church creates such a nice spiritual atmosphere.. I love coming here! read more
