Four Seasons Yard Care

Let me set the scenario for you: two snow storms back to back (totaling about 12" of snow on flat…read moreground, with 24" drifts), single car driveway about 100' long, and renter from Mississippi. Renter, who's never seen more than a dusting of snow in his life, let alone ran a snow blower, called a seemingly reputable local company to remove snow the day after the last storm while he was at work. Upon returning to the domicile at around 6pm that evening, said renter notices that about half the width of the driveway was cleaned, and the entrance still had 2' snow drifts in it. Renter calls the owner of the snow removal business. Owner of the snow removal business says his men do good work (owner must also be a part time comedian?), and that the renter should have just done it himself if he wasn't happy. Then after the renter tells the owner of the business that either someone is going to come fix it, or he will only pay a portion of the bill because he received a portion of the job, the owner of the company becomes irate, like an 18 month old child that dropped his binky on the ground. Now the owner is yelling and screaming about "I'll just come fix it myself, then I'm going to bring a dumptruck full of snow and dump it in your driveway!!!" and "If you think I charge too much, I'll call the bank and say you're not paying for my services and have a lean put against your house!!!" also "If you think this is such a joke (renter was laughing at this point), I'm going make your life hell, where you can't even leave your driveway to go to work!!!". This, ladies and gentlemen is from the owner of JD Lawn Care (also known as Four Season Lawn Care) of Pella, IA. It truly is amazing a person of his character has continued to sustain a business, just because he was born in the area. From the other people I've talked to after this encounter, this definitely isn't the first time he's done sub-par work, and acted out like an infant not getting their way. The rate of $100 to halfway clear a driveway is absolutely outrageous. Hopefully this review finds its way to other who are seeking services in the Pella/Oskaloosa area.

Like the previous review, I did call and talk to someone to make sure I was getting what was…read morepictured on the website, they said no problems. I was sent a different part I could have purchased for less directly from the manufacture. The website did not even have the right picture and they don't seem to concerned with changing it in the future. I asked that I at least get refunded the shipping costs as the manufacture would have shipped the part for free. That seems to be a big deal for them as they said they would have to get back with me. - Edit: They eventually took care of the problem. It took way too many emails, phone calls and management was not as helpful as they could have been seeing it was their big mistake, but it did finally get resolved after some persistence.

I ordered some band saw items from them. They had the parts listed on their website with no…read moredescription. I called to get a description over the phone. They were clueless about their own parts they were selling, but assured me the parts would suit my needs perfectly. Low and behold, I get the parts and they don't work for what I'm trying to do at all. I finally found the actual manufacturer's phone number and called them. They even said the parts should have never been sold to me for the type of work I was trying to do. I called Van Sant and asked for a refund. I was willing to pay shipping - the parts weren't even used. They said there'd be a restocking fee. I said that's fine. Then they hee-hawed around a bit and said sorry, we can't take a refund. I ended up selling the parts on ebay, and after having them listed for over a YEAR, got less than half what I paid. Sounds like they had some old dusty inventory of a junk product that they were happy to get rid of, and the easy answer to my return request was NO! Too bad for Van Sant and Trick Tools because I could have been a life-long customer. I won't spend another penny there, now.
