Having found the wifi named after the pub & asked if I could have a password I was told simply 'no. are you staying long as you havent bought a drink yet' As I say a lovely pub, right on the quay front. I only hope that the real landlord is away tonight or it wont be open long with such customer service I give the pub 4* BUT the staff & service 1*

OK, even if you closed off the wood decking area outside, we could have sat just outside the back door, which you can see from the bar and is easy to cover. So we took our drinks and rest of our food out there. But of course only on the proviso we pay first, in case we run off. Really? You need to have a word with your staff, they need to be more flexible. Need to realise what is good for the customer is good for their wages.

I arrived for a business lunch at 12:50pm. We were sat immediately, as we had reservations. 12:55-drink orders placed 1:00pm-drinks arrive (one wrong) 1:20-waitress finally returned for food order. One person ordered 3 appetizers as a meal, but requested it all together (soup, salad, and calamari). No one else ordered any appetizers 1:45-soup and salad come out, separate from everything else 2:00-some of the food comes out. My order is partly wrong, more on that later 2:05-remaining food comes 2:15-we finish eating 2:25-we finally get the waitress to pay the bill Really? 90 mins for a lunch service? 2 tables were sat, served, and cleared while we waited for food Food: I ordered the shredded BBQ chicken with roasted root vegetables instead of chips. The sandwich was 3/5, but I got the chips. And the root veg. At least I got the food I ordered, but they sill got it wrong and we paid extra for an additional side. I wouldn't return, but as I'm typically on the receiving end visiting customers in this area I will provably be back. Hopefully they redeem themselves.
