My mom's best friend from Florida sent a beautiful bouquet for her birthday! The only thing that seemed strange is that the person delivering the flowers gave them to my mom's home nurse to bring to the door. I was initially confused whether the flowers were from her nurse or from someone else. The nurse clarified after reading the card that they were from my mom's best friend in Florida. Still, it created an awkward situation and I think the florist's delivery person should have brought them to the door rather than handing off to my mom's home nurse. We ordered a $90 ALL LIVE PLANT arrangement for a relative's funeral specifically for the wicker basket with green and red colorings that she enjoyed so much, and so that the basket of plants and flowers could be a remembrance for years to come. What was delivered is a horrible arrangement of carbon-copy, throw-away funeral flowers in some sort of cobbled-together, trashy, white box without any of the colors of the arrangement we paid for. AND WHO THE HELL PUTS A FRICKIN SQUIRREL IN A FLOWER ARRANGEMENT FOR A FUNERAL!!! - NEVER USING THIS FLORIST AGAIN! They should refund the entire purchase for making such a laughing stock at a funeral, but they sell through a teleflora-fronted website, don't have email, and won't answer the phone. read more

I wanted to support a local florist but was very disappointed that what I ordered online didn't look anything like what was delivered. From the vase to the flower colors to the actual fullness of the arrangement, I was literally embarrassed at what was sent. To make matters even worse, I sent an email to the customer service email address listed on Shinkle's website. This came back as an un-deliverable email. I called the shop to request the correct email address and resent the feedback. I've never received any sort of acknowledgment regarding my communication. Terrible customer service. I will never order from Shinkle's again. read more

My son sent me flowers for my birthday. I arrived home in the evening to find the flowers had been left on my stone steps and either had been left near the edge of a step and toppled over or there had been a breeze and the arrangement had been knocked over, I don't know which, but the glass vase was broken and all the water had drained out and the flowers were in a bad way. I put the arrangement in a vase I had and by the next day some had revived. I phoned the shop to let them know and was told that could not have happened as it was the owner's husband who delivered them. No offer to replace the flowers, nothing. Very sad, I have had deliveries from them in the past and everything was fine. I let my son know not to use Shinkle's again. read more
