I come in here often. Every week/every other and I usually have a decent experience (the reason for…read more3 stars). Even if someone doesn't fully know how to help me with what I'm trying to do, they're at least kind and attempt to help. So, in general, I like this location. However, I had an exceptionally terrible experience there this morning. I mean -5 stars awful. I was looking around for something that I have previously purchased here maybe 2 months ago. A girl named Melody was sitting at the desk kind of in the middle of the store and kindly asked if I was looking for something. I explained to her what I was looking for and that I remembered it being around these aisles on the very bottom right hand side. I wasn't able to explain the product as well as I wanted to because I couldn't remember the name of it. So, I pulled it up and showed her a photo of the box. To preface, I have been in customer service for 22 years so I have an understanding of what is acceptable/not acceptable when helping guests, ESPECIALLY polite and kind guests like I was. I showed her the photo and she abruptly said "Yeah, we don't have that here. I said, "Really? I just bought maybe 5 or 6 boxes from here" And this is how the rest of the conversation went.. "You didn't get it here." "I know for sure I got it here. I purchased it myself" "Maybe you had it shipped to store" "No, I didn't. I just happened upon them and picked some up" "When?" "Maybe 2 months ago" "I've been here since August and I'm telling you we've never had that. Here, I'll just look it up" "Oh, it looks like we do have it. It's in aisle 20whatever she said. We actually have 2 in stock" I was completely silent and we walked to the aisle and I started grabbing what I needed. I asked her for her name and she said Melody. Then I went silent again and she started *really* overcompensating awkwardly with attempting kindness after I asked her name. Saying things like, "Well, I'm so happy I know we have this now, this isn't my department, I have never seen these before, you might wanna grab all 3 boxes (instead of the 2 I needed)." Just really uncomfortably rambling because she knew how rude she just was to me. We are walking back and she is very insistent on helping me further. I asked for wood filler because I too feel uncomfortable now. She shows me, I thank her, and she asked if she could find anything else for me. I responded with "Absolutely not." and walked off, genuinely upset about being talked to with such poor attitude and accusatory behavior. Just rude as all get out. I've never called a manager to complain but I think I will. I was super dissatisfied with my entire trip except for the lady at the checkout line. Do better, Melody.

Usually my experience with Lowes is good and they are awesome but I just went through an ordeal…read morethat has tainted their reputation in my eyes. I ordered two appliances on sales from their online 4th of July promotion whereby they were offering the special order appliances 50% off! So, I ordered them on July 3rd. I didn't get the range delivered until September 28th and the above-range microwave was not delivered as it was reported as "damaged" by the delivery people. Well, they still charged me for the microwave, didn't order a replacement, and now they are telling me they can't get or order a new one at the price I ordered and paid for even though they still sell the very same model. I talked patiently to their corporate customer service and the best they would do is give me 20% discount on the new priced same item. To make things super awesome, they changed the order to make it look like I picked the item up in-store so they could issue a refund? So now I'm stuck with a range in a special-order color I didn't specifically want to save some money and am expected to either accept the new higher price, choose a different color, or try and fight to get what I paid for.

I'm emailing you because I am at wits end on how to deal with this ongoing issue. The only…read moreresolution I can forsee is to quit shopping altogether at any of your stores. If that is your response, my husband and I can arrange that. I am attaching a copy of my answer to the last question on your survey requesting additional information. This has been brought up in my responses on previous surveys but apparently people are asleep at the wheel in your "survey department" or maybe all of them are also busy chitchatting with their collegues and cannot be bothered with us lowly customers because the issues continue. Lowes survey question to "additional comment" Hire friggen cashiers!!!! And actually make your floor associates do their job, ie-pricing items or at least putting prices on the shelves where the item is located, pulling stock from the top shelves to replenish lower shelves that customers can reach and actively offering assistance to customers. It's ridiculous that I or anyone has to friggen hunt down help or climb shelves myself (and this is just a forewarning, if I fall at your store because of your stupidity in not hiring enough associates that WILL work, not just standing around chatting with their collegues, I will sue). I spend more time LOOKING for an associate to "tell" me what aisle the item is located in that I came to purchase than it did to put the item in my cart (provided it is stocked on a shelf I can reach because God forbid should your associate have to hold the conversation with their collegue until they assisted me (or any other customer). This leads to my next rant and this is NOT the first time I've brought this up. Yesterday, yes, I actually slept on this because I didn't want to say things out of anger, my husband and I visited your store on Oak Grove Rd in Evansville. This is the 3rd or 4th time we've been in this store since we've relocated to this area. My disdain has only grown since the first time we went there. I do not feel as though my expectations are outrageous or unreasonable. You, as a provider, charge us for products or services you "make" available to us, the public. My complaint here is that there is an expectation of customer service in the big box store that is GROSSLY missing in yours. Yesterday the only associate that was genuinely doing her best to help us was the young lady who was "manning" your self checkout. I believe her name was Eve or Eva. I have $40 in my Lowes wallet with an expiration date as well as a coupon with an expiration date. When we walked up to the checkouts, I asked her if she could help us with the wallet money and the coupon. She generously offered to check out the items and help me with the coupon and wallet money. Everytime I have tried in the past to access this crap while in your store, it is nothing but a fiasco. Even Eve said she doesn't know what is happening. I was only able to use the coupon that was emailed, we could never access the wallet money. At this point, I just want to tell you and all your corporate gurus to shove your manipulating gimics where the sun don't shine. I could have saved more at Menards. At least their rebates are available to EVERYONE and the rebate card does NOT expire. They also have numerous check outs manned with cashiers. Take note here....I'm pointing out something here that many others have noticed as well. You haven't and are not doing me any favors. Keep in mind, you're only in business because of people like me, who actually spend money in your store. That can most certainly be remedied. There are no laws that say I have to spend a nickel in your store and my husband and I have been doing some rethinking with our shopping choices. I plan on sending this to your corporate office as well. If they are as lazy and negligent as the customer service in this store and whoever receives these receipts, my only other option would be to reach out the Better Business Bureau and leave a negative yelp review. I would like to mention when I've asked store associates why there aren't employees manning cash registers, their response are always "corporate cuts to save money". Why is it that a similar store (Menards) can afford to man their registers AND open more stores???? I seriously believe you and all your penny pinching suits that are greedily snatching profits, need to rethink what you're doing. You can only snatch the money while it's coming in. People get sick of jacking with your screw ups.
