Recently, I had the opportunity to attend Sherry's workshop at Doe River Gorge, and I honestly feel this was the best money I've ever spent on improving my art. Sherry is an incredible teacher with a huge amount of knowledge, and her passion to share it is such a blessing! When you have an art instructor, while you're painting, use terms like orchestra, symphony, instruments, singing, etc., you know you're in for something special! She created an environment at her workshop that was warm, welcoming, and inviting to painters of all skill levels and experience. I was blown away by how much I learned in such a short time and look forward to applying everything she taught me. Her method of starting with an imprimatura to work out the values and composition clicked with me, and I'm certain my paintings will improve as a result. We covered a huge amount of stuff like composition, mixing, materials, dynamic symmetry, etc.. However, one of my biggest takeaways is how she taught to me to THINK ABOUT MY APPROACH to painting. Retiring from a career in pharmacy to full-time professional artist in 2016, Sherry Mason officially opened her Home Gallery and Studio December 2017. Come by to see her latest works or pieces on the easel or visit Martin House Gallery in beautiful Blowing Rock, NC to see her work there.

Meet the Business Owner: Sherry M.

Sherry Mason is a traditional realism fine art oil painter and commissioned artist. She is predominantly self-taught, inspired by the masters of the Hudson River School, & aspires to bring the old master's painterly style back into the art world. Her realistic depictions of the transformative effects of light and color in the sky, clouds, mountains, water, and flowers declare the glory of God as the Creator. Sherry is a juried member of the Salmagundi Club in NY and has been juried into many exhibitions to include semi-finalist in the 2024 & 2025 Almenara Art Prize Online Exhibition, as well as Top 25 and several Top 100 Finalist in the Plein Air Salon. Her work has been exhibited with the International Guild of Realism in Scottsdale, AZ, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society 2025 Spring Members Show, among others. She is a juried member in OPA, AWA, AIS and is an Elected Artist Member in the American Artists Professional League of NY.

I just attended three one-day art workshops conducted by artist Sherry Mason and I have to say it was three of the best days I have spent in my art journey. from the sign-up process through the communications prior to the workshops Sherry was available to help in any way. The materials lists were received in ample time to order and prepare. Each workshop was packed full of information and demos to help me learn and apply the things covered to improve my art products. She was great at taking questions and assuring my understanding before moving on. I could not ask for a better teacher. I highly recommend that you seek out and attend her workshops. read more

I had an excellent experience ordering these beautiful prints from Sherry Mason art. Gorgeous serene scenes originally painted in oil and printed on high quality thick and weighty watercolour paper.
