Courtesy of Love Pop Ups London, I got to try out Escape London's Escape The Seven Seas room as…read morewell as their Taken room at the Shadwell location, and what a ride it was! Both rooms were very well designed with lots of puzzles and challenges in them. I have more elaborate reviews on my blog, but for this platform I will stick with brevity. Seven Seas has a pirate theme in which our team had to escape from prison cells, find the captain's chamber, discover the treasure and then flee before being discovered by the pirates. The room is unfortunately very dimly lit, which makes using the combination locks quite challenging, but the challenges in the room itself are really well done and so much fun to work on. In Taken, we had to rescue our friend "Bob" from the clutches of a serial killer. Again, the room is really well designed and super fun to work through. Some of the gimmicks were outstanding, other could do with being polished up a bit. Taken is definitely a more streamlined and high-pressure room, while Seven Seas is more immersive and sticks to its theme with fierce dedication, but both were a lot of fun to play. A very enjoyable experience, I definitely recommend this escape room company, they know what they're doing!

For this visit we got to check out two of their three escape rooms.. Escape the Seven Seas and also Taken. Both of these rooms provide a totally different experience and I would definitely be interested in coming back to do the witchcraft and wizardry one too. As a group of experienced players we still found the clues both challenging and fun to complete.. Kris our games master was on hard to provide help if we needed it.. As the competitive streak within all of us we wanted to see if we could get on the leaders board.. So close yet so far!! 46mins for the escape the Seven Seas and Taken in 35 mins.. Would definitely recommend a visit especially for a big group as you can all tackle a different room to share your experiences.

OK, if you thought that was a movie blog coming up, you have been mislead my friend.. It is…read moreactually an escape room experience from London Escaped. London Escaped have recently opened two rooms and myself and a few bloggers from the Love Pop Ups London community were invited to come and escape The Prisoner. As usual, I don't want to give too much of the atmospheric build up away, however, I can let you know that this escape room is located in the east London venue, just off the Commercial Road. It's located in an underground parking allotment. Upon entry you'll find the slopy entrance, be careful its very steep so mind your step! So what does London Escaped say about their new room? "The Prisoner known as The Bloody Elbow. It is the time of the Holy Medieval Inquisition around the 14th century. You have all been accused of witchcraft and imprisoned awaiting your death by the hands of a executioner nicknamed "Bloody Elbow". He is infamous for his love of using horrifying torture to obtain confession of your crimes, this often lead to a slow and agonising death if you were lucky, "Bloody Elbow" has left you for a rest between the bouts of torture, this is your chance, you have 60 minutes to escape your hideous dungeon and change your fate forever"  The room can take up to eight players, however I would recommend a maximum of five as I felt that would give the players more to do when there are less people.I didn't feel that there was much problem solving involved. More finding keys and the right object to aid your escape. The first part of the game does require some team work and the game does mention sharp objects were involved.. And I totally vouch for it, but I would recommend no drinking before. As this is all for fun, so let's avoid all injuries OK!  So you have been accused of witchcraft and the aim of the game is to escape before the executioner returns to torture you to death.. With that in mind I would be the first to try and get out..  As the game is recently opened there are still some finishing touches that the owners are looking to finalise and whike speaking to them you can really picture their vision and I would be interested on returning to see what changes they have made to the room.  As I am writing this review you will be happy to know that my team and I managed to escape in 48 mins I do admit the first 5 mins was just a lot of screaming.. I will let you figure that part out for yourself. I would say that this is one very immersive room, so and I really enjoy the props the owners have put in the design of the rooms.  This is a 3* from me for the difficulty of the room but definitely a 4* for the immerse design.  Disclaimer: This is a sponsor post, but reviews are all my own.

The White Walker room was especially brilliant (though it's physically small, so wouldn't recommend for more than 3 players) and one of the best rooms I've played. Unfortunately some of the tech was being finicky, but that's easily fixable. School of Magic is a great room for junior players, but also suitable for a team of two. Not the most complicated, difficult room, but great for Potter fans and a fun challenge. Some of the props need fixing and a better clue system would be great. There's some really good rooms available here, especially for smaller groups!

We played the Pharaoh's Chamber room at Espace Rooms, so my review will be based on this room…read morealone. It's a very central location, so that's a plus right off the bat! The staff were pleasant but seemed a little distracted to me. I've definitely had more enthusiastic staff at other escape games. The decor of the room looked cheaply made and not well maintained. I'm sure it looked top notch when it opened, but it's quite used and should probably get an overhaul. Some equipment pieces were dinged up and pieces were broken off. Other items were just about pound shop quality. The riddles and puzzles were interesting but not always logical. There was a lot of trial and error with some of them and a few didn't really make any sense, even once we figured them out. It wasn't always obvious when a puzzle was successfully solved as the system that lets you know you've solved something doesn't really co-relate to the puzzles, so it's an indicator that something happened, but not exactly what was solved. Once we actually solved one puzzle but didn't realize it had triggered something else until we were notified of this through the walkie talkie from the operations room. We managed to escape with just one hint used, but overall it wasn't as satisfying as a lot of the other escape rooms I've tried because it was more guess work than actual skill and logic to solve the puzzles. I hear their other challenge, Room 33, is a bit better, so I may try that one in the future. This one just didn't impress me.

When we first got in to the room I started to feel a little disappointed as the clues were really tough however we persisted and soon we really got in to it - he clues are tough but do-able. I do agree with other reviewers that the whole concept of the room didn't really make sense. The puzzles are all individual so you are just scrabbling around trying to see which clues are for which puzzles. Overall a kind of stressful experience. I would recommend an escape room to friends or colleagues however perhaps another venue/company?

This is a great starter escape room if you've never done anything like it before…read more We did the museum warehouse room, so this review is based entirely on that challenge. I have yet to try any of the other rooms they have. All the riddles and puzzles in this escape room are very straight forward, decently challenging but not too difficult. They all make sense, we overthought some of them though which made us take a lot more time than it should have. Sometimes the easy answer is actually the best answer! As a beginner, it was quite challenging to get through, but in hindsight with more escape room challenges under my belt I'd say this is not for very advanced teams as they might have too easy a time and be a bit disappointed at getting out too fast. It did take us 58 minutes as a fresh beginner team that had only ever tried anything like this in Yelp's Licence To Escape event, which features short, 5 minute challenges from several escape room companies. So if you're new to this, this is the perfect one to start with! You'll learn a lot about the techniques and details of escape rooms with this one. It was definitely a lot of fun to get through this one!

The puzzles were very logical, and it was a great exercise to see how well you do as a team. Our team was slightly on the weak side given we didn't really know each other, and we trusted that others had looked in certain places which is why we got stuck in the 2nd room, however there were some difficulties opening doors even when we had the correct codes etc. I can't say I felt particularly pressured however we managed it with 4 minutes to spare. The other team, doing a different puzzle had 15 mins left. Which suggests that certain puzzles are too easy.
