Also, doggie bags are provided and there is a water fountain for the pups. Being here you can forget that you're at a dogpark and walk around between the trees, enjoying nature. The only downfall is that the fence is old and since my dog is an escape artist he can get through both gates and into the parking lot. I like to think that I trained him not to do that anymore, but in reality he's probably just having so much fun with the other dogs that he forgets that escaping is still an option. We frequent this park multiple times a week and love it! The dogs are friendly and the owners are responsible.

There weren't any other dogs there when we stopped by (during the day on a weekday) so we let him run free in the large dog area. The large dog section is huge compared to the dog park we go to back home. Love the trees and picnic tables. We will be back whenever we are in the area.

Not many people frequent this dog park so it is a great place to train your dog, but if you are looking for your pawbud to socialize this is not the place to go. We've been here multiple times and probably only ran into one other owner. This park doesn't get much shade at certain parts of the day as there are no actual trees inside the fenced area, but a few large oaks surround it. Great place to watch the sun set over the river while Mr. Sniff-a-lot enjoys the aroma of the park.

The park features wide open grass areas, a couple areas of high grass, a forested area, and a separate area for little dogs. The park itself is pretty good sized, maybe 1/2 mile in circumference if you walk the fence (as many folks do). It should be noted that there are many more bully breed dogs on Saturday and Sunday afternoons than other times. I dont have anything against these breeds per se, but they do play a little too rough for some dogs. There are very few inconsiderate people at this dog park, which I think is what makes it such a good one, but you'd still be wise to watch your step and keep a close eye on your dog. I know my little gremlin loves to come here, and I'm usually able to strike up a convo w/ somebody interesting.

Instead of fixed benches the park includes movable lawn chairs - which is nice - especially if you need to sit apart during the pandemic. Our dog actually loved running round and round the chairs like an obstacle course. Admission is free and most pet owners are responsible for picking up after their pet and watching to ensure proper pet behavior in the park. We have 2 dog parks in our own town, but this one is our favorite one to visit - even with the extra minutes to drive from Bloomington, it is worth it.

My dad and I came here during a day of exploring and was greeted with a nice park. It has your typical playground and spacious grounds. But this one has a pretty nice tennis court.
