This is, without a doubt, the worst, most ill-kept and poorly maintained gas station I have ever been to. I live in Claremont and frequent this station due to it's convenient location next to the 10 freeway. However, any attempt to pay using your credit card on the broken, push-with-varying-degrees-of-force interface is like slowly being tortured in a dungeon of your choosing (and *not* the fun kind...) You have to play roulette with different pump stations in order to find the right one that has a working credit card terminal. On this particular one, not even the number pad worked, and all I was trying to do was type in my rewards number, and it never worked, forcing me to go inside and pay with cash (Luckily, this was one of the few times I had cash on me). If you are in the Claremont area, I highly recommend you avoid the Shell station on Indian Hill by the 10 freeway. Employees are rude, pan handlers aplenty and you get ripped off if you purchase with a credit or gift card. 70 cents a gallon is a bit excessive for using your card as opposed to cash. Was in dire need of gas and exited the 10 fwy. going east on Indian Hill Blvd. According to Gas Buddy the price was $2.65 for cash which was great for Shell gas. I found it easy to get to off the 10 fwy. and Indian Hill. If you have a low sitting car you have to be careful when exiting the station cause you will scrape majorly! read more

The story of "Small Print". We own a business and one of our employees visited the Shell Gas station in Claremont on Indian hill. They post one price on their sign and then in extremely small print way off to the side they state if you pay with a credit card they charge you an extra $1.00 per gallon, CRAZY!!!!! If they are going to play that game the information needs to be clearly marked on their pumps or at least right next to it in larger print. They way they do it, you are already screwed when you realize what happened. Completely bad business practices and in my mind on the edge of being illegal!!! DO NOT GET YOU GAS WITH THEM! I've been coming here for years. I don't know why. Maybe because it's the closest drive-through car wash. They either keep the change. I know it's only a penny but over the years it added up. Then the car doesn't dry completely. Sometimes there's oil spots. The day I paid for the Supreme Car Wash because my car that has been parked for a long time needed a good cleaning and the undercarriage and Rios didn't get washed because it never turned on. Stopped to get gas and tried to fill up my tires which were low. There is something wrong with their machine and it only took air OUT of my tire leaving me at 20 PSI which is unsafe to drive on. I have used 1 million air stations at 1 million gas stations and never had an issue. Yasif was the guy behind the counter and he was not only rude and unsympathetic but completely unhelpful and Unconcerned that his customer, a female alone by the way, was now stranded. I am sure he also did not pass on the information that the machine doesn't work so don't try to get air here. And I hope someone fires yasif. He claimed he could not leave the counter but I'm sure he leaves to go to the restroom at least once during his shift. He just did not care. read more

I come here from time to time to get gas, they have renovated it within the past couple of years and changed from mobil to a shell, the reason i give it a 2 is because the workers inside are usually rude and the snacks inside are over-priced! You could easily walk across the street to the liquor store and pay way less for a candy bar! And not to mention the gas prices here are usually .10$ higher than anywhere else cause they are right next to the 10 freeway on/off ramp and to make things even worse lots of shady people hang around here late at night so be careful and make sure not to leave your car unlocked if your going to be inside for awhile read more

Went to this station for fill up because I saw a big sign for $3.79 a gallon. I paid with my debit card and got a big surprise when my fill up totalled $57+. Upon checking, I noticed a sign that read $4.25/gallon for credit/debit. I know credit/debit transactions are slightly higher, but $0.46/gallon difference definitely a rip off.
