I was greeted, after a couple of minutes, in an efficiently friendly manner with a suggestion the "It will be awhile, love". Turns out it was only a couple of minutes but I ended up at a table for four, making me wonder if I should offer to sit at the bar. The Cheeseburger Platter was on special so I tried it. A nice tasting patty, fried onions, real cheese and pretty good fries. And don't forget the obligatory tub of processed coleslaw. Overall not bad but I assumed "the works" meant lettuce and tomato - wrong. Some of the other meals looked good like the club and fish&chips. The menu is pretty typical for a diner, except for the Newfoundland Poutine - with dressing! I'd definitely go back but wouldn't make to a destination. Unless I need Newfoundland Poutine!

I like that when I fill my car up, once a week, I can get a little something back from this gas station. In the form of a $1.something coupon for Sobeys. No it's not much, but it's better than nothing! This station is regularly busy, but never so busy you are more than a car behind. Pay at the pump, so i never really go inside! And located conveniently next to my local Sobeys, so i can reap the benefits immediately.

I made the drive through Lunenburg this weekend looking for a friends cottage in Kingsburg and got lost just past this Kwik Way. I turned around and stopped in to ask for directions, and pick up a few treats for the drive. There were more products offered at this Kwik Way than I expected (it's kind of an eye sore from the outside) but the interior was undergoing renovations so everything was in disarray. My friend bought a pack of cigarettes that she estimated were a month old based on a limited edition package. Luckily the older gentleman behind the counter was happy to give me directions and he said it was a good thing that I turned around because it was another half hour drive to the next town to get directions. If you're driving through the Lunenburg area and need directions this is a great place to stop. Once they finish their interior renovations hopefully it will live up to it's full potential.

Running out of gas on Highway 102 so we stopped in Chester - one of the only populated areas…read morebetween Halifax and Bridgewater. Stopped at the Irving gas station on Saturday night shortly after 7:00. It was closed up for the night! Google lists this location as being open until 8:00 pm. Went to the Tim Hortons down the road to ask where the nearest gas station is and they said the only one was Irving and were suprised to hear that it was closed. Even if they were open until 8:00 this is still too early for the only station in town on a Saturday night! Irving is well known in the Maritimes as the place to go when you need to stop late at night (although 7:00 is pretty darn early in my opinion). If you need gas - try the Petro Canada in Chester Basin off exit 8. Don't even bother going to see if this station "might" be open. Glad I was able to make it to Exit 8. Also - exit 10 has a nicer larger Irving Station which is open past 7:00. Moral of the story - don't waste what little gas you do have driving around these tiny little towns and villages - cal ahead first to confirm that they are actually open!
