Several people I spoke with are upset with the situation and will not patronize this Harris Teeter location if this panhandling is permitted to continue. The "music" being allowed in the parking lot is also very loud and obnoxious. Why are they permitted to to panhandle and play music in the first place? Taking my business $$$ elsewhere!

I completely forgot that the old Farm Fresh in this area had been converted into a Harris Teeter and was pleasantly surprised to see they also have a Starbucks in store (just like most H.T's, but it's super awesome to have one in the area instead of having to drive to Mercury.) I was welcomed by several employees when walking into the store and taken to where the gift cards were, and then checked out, and that's it - I was on my way. Happy days!

We stopped by The Fresh Market/Farm Fresh located at chatham drive because it was convenient. We found the dry spice package we needed, but the packaging was broken. We went to customer service and spoke with the man in charge, but unfortunately, he told us it was the last one in stock. Since we are not familiar with the area and weren't sure where else to go, we decided to take the broken package and use it anyway--it's a dry spice, so we figured it would be fine. To our surprise, the same gentleman came to the cashier and told her not to charge us--it was free. Even though the cost of the spice wasn't significant, his thoughtfulness and kindness truly impressed us. This kind of gesture doesn't happen often in international markets. He made this Thanksgiving feel even more like Thanksgiving.

I went shopping in Food Lion on Hampton Highway in Tabb, Va a few days ago and my experience was…read morevery unsettling. An obese black woman whom I assume is the manager watched me as I shopped for the items on my list. I couldn't find one item so I stopped one of the employees as he passed me in the aisle. He said that he didn't know where it was. Another customer who overheard the conversation directed me to another location where he said it might be. I found it on the bottom shelf near the floor. As I looked up there is a woman who had positioned herself at the front of the store so that she could stare down the aisles and watch shoppers. As I headed towards the checkout line still looking at her she hurried into the office and shut the steel door. I told the cashier to tell her that I am not a thief. I don't go into a grocery store to steal. I am a 75 yr old retiree. This has happened on more than one occasion in this particular Food Lion store. This store is not located in the ghetto. I live nearby in an upscale community. There is military housing nearby as well. The female who was watching me as I shopped is an obese black female. I don't know how much shoplifting goes on in this store but there are other stores where I can shop and spend my money. I don't shop where I'm not welcome. I spend a lot. I'm not broke. It's their loss.
