Great place to stop for coffee and gas on Rte 81. People were friendly and coffee was strong!

When I finally arrived in Wilke-Barre I wanted to find a Sheetz and get myself a drink. The nearest one to where I was at that moment was this location. I was a bit hesitant when I showed up. I wasn't sure if it was open. All the pumps were taped off and there weren't very many vehicles in the parking lot. When I pulled in I did a once around of the lot to see if they were indeed open. Once I saw someone walk out of the store I pulled into a spot and knew they were open. Or at least I thought they were open. I was still skeptical. Once out of my vehicle I made it to the door and with a bit of anxiety pulled on the door. Luckily they were indeed open and I was able to go inside and grab what I needed. Inside the store was in full working order, unlike the outside. I didn't ask why they weren't offering fuel outside, but I assume they were working on the pumps for a reason. It was a bit messy, made me not want to be in here, but I made due as it was just an extra stop for me until I got to my hotel. I did make it out of here fairly quickly, but I am going to have to experience this when it is fully operational. I really didn't get a full experience here. read more

This is my favorite Sheetz in the area. It's probably weird to stan a gas station but I'm 100% a Sheetz girl living the MTO life. Their coffee is really good, the music is on point and the bathrooms smell like a new age bookstore. It's a lifestyle. read more

Stopped in after a SWB Penguins game the other night. Unfortunately it was late and I was hungry so didn't get any photos, but we grabbed a burger, chicken sandwich, fried pickles, and cheese curds. The burger was what you'd expect, but the chicken sandwich was better than I thought it would be. Pretty standard fried pickles but again, those curds were excellent. Cooked well, melty in your mouth, and a nice little sweetness to the dough. I' order those again anytime I came in. read more

Many of my friends swear by Sheetz the same way that I swear by Wawa or QuickTrip. It's tidy, it's easy, they have an excellent beverage and food selection. Well done. I ordered a 5oz pineapple chunk to go bowl and they gave me one with kiwi, grapes and pineapple in it. I couldn't eat it cause I'm allergic to kiwi. I tried calling the store and they tried arguing with me cause they tried telling me doordash handles it when they don't Sheetz Corporate does. I called the corporate number and they said there was 11 callers ahead of me. I did the option where someone would call me back. No one ended up calling me back so the next day I called corp again. Would you believe this I was still behind 11 damn people. Terrible service. I stopped by at 1:30 AM thinking it would be empty. I was wrong. The place was packed, but I thought no problem. It should move steadily, All I want is a breakfast sandwich. I was wrong again! I was looking at the employees moving around behind the counter, going back and forth, looking at the orders on the screen, looking busy, but nothing was being done. This was going on for over 15 minutes while I was there. Employees moving around like ping pong balls bouncing off each other but no one is doing anything! So here's my situation: In PA, there was a conflict over whether WaWa or Sheetz was the superior convenience store. This was a light-hearted debate, and the bottom line was that both sides were really discussing the same establishment. There really is very little difference between the two places. Here in SF, people find it inconceivable and disgusting that I would even eat at a place that doubles as a gas station. They scoff, they laugh. I don't get it. It's not like the gas pumps are in the convenience store area... they're separate! They are! Now I'm just getting defensive, but still. This place has great food. Plus, you order it all to go on a TOUCH SCREEN! Take that iPhone! Sheetz did it better. I was feeling rather down about my love for Sheetz until another person (not from PA, but not from SF originally) said he had a girlfriend from Philly. Sheetz is like the Disney World of gas stations. Sadly, I don't think we have anything remotely comparable here in Massachusetts. (That's right, I'm reviewing a gas station! Ha!) Go ahead and fill up, then walk into the actual store. I'm not sure if it was because we had been driving for 7+ hours, but it seemed almost magical in here. Definitely the cleanest convenience store/ gas station that I've ever walked into, nicely laid-out products, super clean restroom. (Unexpected bonus there!) But the coolest thing ever is that you can order food (on a fun touchscreen! I know, I need a life. hehe) and it's MADE TO ORDER. Burgers, sandwiches, breakfast items, nachos, etc. Isn't that the coolest thing you've ever heard?? I had a pretty decent burger on a ciabatta roll and J. got a milkshake. Coolest gas station ever. I've been to this particular location twice now en-route to New York. Its not too far off of I-81, although the route to get here is not the clearest, not to mention there multiple lights to pass through to get here. Although what I love about Sheetz, the price of gas is competitive, the bathrooms are generally clean, MTO food they had fried pickles on the menu which made me excited, and the selection of hot and cold beverages. I would give this place 5 stars but I literally got stuck at every traffic light on the way in there this most recent visit. Although for me stopping here is a good 3/4 point to stop, as when I have to do a longer road trip I do like to keep my stops to a minimum. read more

The food at this Sheetz is pretty sub par and the service is worse. I watched the slowest employee on earth make me a slider - it took about ten minutes. The entire process consisted of microwaving the beef patty and putting it on a bun. The microwaving portion took 30 seconds, but this employee moved so slowly that it truly looked like she was trying to be as slow as she possibly could. Even handing me the bag took ages. The store, since renovation, is pretty nice though. Huge soda, ice cream and yogurt selection (frozen yogurt). They also have one of those milkshake machines. read more

Tried the spicy chicken sandwich on a pretzel roll and some mozzarella sticks. The spicy chicken is good but could be a little spicier. The mozzarella sticks were a little overcooked and coming out of the breading but they were crispy and delicious. Somehow I forgot to order sauce with them and it kinda sucks that you have to pay extra for sauce. I love the touch screen ordering and options to customize. I love Sheetz because of all of the products and because of how clean the stores are. Well we stopped at this store and it was disgusting. It was 8pm and there was no garbage bins outside that weren't overflowing. Inside the store there was papers and napkins and garbage on the floor. In the women's restroom only two of the four stalls were clean and there was garbage all over the floor. I am very surprised how gross this sheetz was! read more

I love this Sheetz. It's very clean, easily accessible from 309 right before you get on the interstate. It's open 24/7. The food is great and there is even a little dining area off to the side where you can sit down and eat. Lots of gas pumps. Easy in and easy out. Never a wait. read more

Being from Massachusetts Sheetz is a novilty for me when traveling with my wife to visit my inlaws. I love the extensive MTO menu and the huge selection of drinks, snacks, and chips they have. For the traveler who has never been Sheetz always has clean bathrooms. read more

They have the best slushy in town for 99 cents for this summer. Um grape is my favorite.
