Hair came out so bad!! I'm bald almost! My feelings are hurt. will not return. When I asked the girl to fix it she said she couldn't.

Literally what the heck! I went to the shop at 9am on a Wednesday. They were supposed to be open…read morebut didn't open doors until 9:30. That was a minor detail, it didn't bother me too much. I get in and the woman washing my hair asked if I had dreadlocks before? I have 4c hair and it's long. The implications of her question and the way she asked me was disgusting and I contemplated getting up and leaving. I paid $15 additional dollars for a deep condition but honestly it was a waste of money because the lady washing hair does not do a good job. I proceed to get my hair blow dried and the man doing it was polite and courteous but I will note that yes they use excessive heat but I saw past that because I have very resilient hair that can take a lot of heat. After an hour of blow drying and wincing from the heat burning my scalp at times, I'm now heading to get my hair straightened. This is when it gets interesting, the man who greeted me when I walked in and told me that a trim is $15 is straightening my hair. He shows me how much he's going to trim and proceeds to give me a hair cut. He was scissor happy which l don't mind because I prefer healthy ends over length. Now it's time for me to pay. He tells me that is $115. I was not having that. I stayed calmed though. Why wasn't I going to pay that you ask? Because I asked how much it would cost as soon as I entered and he was very vague, I kept pressing him for a price but all he said was that it could cost $55 and up. Now I asked them to break down $115 to me and they said the wash, blow dry and style for my hair alone was $75. Then the deep condition was $15 and the hair cut was $25. I refused to pay for a hair cut that I was told was going to be a trim. It's not my fault that you're scissor happy. I stood firm and got the price down to $105 and since it was my first time it came down to $95. Although the woman who washed my hair insisted that I've been there before. I paid them the $95 and still left a tip. Why such a long review? It's simple, I'm tired of hair salons taking advantage of African American customers and up charging them at the end.

Today was my 2nd time being serviced here by Mohammed (1st chair stylist) My first experience here…read morewas in February 2026. My hair was so badly damaged from numerous of things but the meds I was on for 3 weeks has taken my shoulder length hair down to almost ground "zero" before sitting in his chair. I had received tons of "bad advice" to just cut it all off and start fresh because it was ALL DEAD HAIR & couldn't be saved in which wasn't an option for me. There were too many commitments I had before me to be scrambling around just to be presentable. I informed Mohammed of what all I had gone through with my hair since September 2025 going from shoulder length to (mid ear on one side & just above the ear on the other)from so much breakage and it falling out in clumps . Mohammed felt the texture of my hair all over, and urged me to sit down. He asked and "who said you needed to cut it all off"? No, I could fix this he got to work and trimmed it to the point where it appeared to still have some life left in it. It also appeared to look healthy, although I was a lot more "bald headed" , (not really) but the hair that wasn't as damaged he INDEED saved. Moving forward 3 months later, Luckily for me my hair grows rather quickly. It was right at the tip of my shoulders ( but still damaged a bit from February) I was back yet again, Today for color and ANOTHER one of his magical trims and he DEFINITELY came through on both. Mohammed (Abdou) NOT ONLY invested in my healthy hair journey by gave me so many great tips on Do's/Dont's for my hair going forward. I was also not feeling well due to Allergies, asthma, and laryngitis he also, gave great and caring advice regarding that as well. He felt like apart of my extended family. What a Gracious and Generous soul I am forever grateful that I was spiritually lead to pass up all the other shops I could have and ALMOST stopped in for advice on my hair loss catastrophe, and was lead right to him. The vibe was calm, relaxed, and chill. #ChaosFREE So I had actually gone there yesterday (5/26/26 to be serviced but he wasn't there. I'm so happy I waited to come back the next day(Called first) and he said "come right on, I'll be waiting for you"

I was nervous at first because that was the first time im trying a new branch for my eyelash since i have been moving a lot. I went there, the place is decently spacey and also they have a lot of customers which is a plus for me because thats how i know that they are good because people actually come over there. I got my eyelashes done and I LOVE IT! It looks natural and it lasts for 4 weeks now. Keep in mind you can come back in 3 weeks after you get them done for refills. Customer service was really good and they are very friendly. I would recommend this for people who are trying to get their EYELASHES done. I know they have other services like hairstyling, coloring, etc. but like i said, i went here for lashes. 4 stars for CLEOPATRA'S HAIR DESIGN SOUTH HOLLAND branch.

The salon is clean and I love how it's decorated. They offer complimentary wine, beer or water. I came in for my consultation with Raquel in April, I let her know that I wanted to color my natural brown hair to gray and leave my natural color as an over grown root. I asked her if she was comfortable with the project and she said yes and that she had done gray before. I didn't ask her for any pictures I just trusted her because she has an awesome personality and she told me she had many years or experience. My hair was 90% my natural color because I was growing it out for this. I had some blonde on my ends (about two inches) from an over grown ombre I got done 3+ years ago and no dark color. The first time she did my hair it came out dark blue with random streaks of light brown and yellow. My roots looked light brown because of how dark my hair looked. I was so sad and disappointed, Raquel offered to color my roots darker so I scheduled an appointment. When I went home I realized the new hair color was just too dark so I cancelled the root appointment. The owner called and offered to have my hair fixed, she was so nice. Everyone in the salon was super nice and helpful. I went back to have my hair fixed. Raquel re-bleached my hair to get rid of the dark color. She put in a new toner to my hair to make my hair gray this time. When she was blow drying it it almost looked white (compared to the previous blue color), so I preferred that color than the dark one. She told me to come back in a couple weeks to re-tone it in order to keep it the same. That meant she thought that color was gray yet it wasn't. We didn't finish blow drying my hair, and I was fine with that but it was a mistake.  When I got home I split my hair down the middle and my roots were so ugly! There was squared patches of blonde streaking to my skull. I split my hair to the side and same thing. I almost cried, I didn't even know how to do my hair. I wanted to wear a hat. Not only were my roots hideous, but my hair had an ombre look. More than half of my hair was a darker blonde. My hair was not anywhere near gray, it was a disaster (I posted a picture). Not to mention that I had several people asked me if I did it myself! Can you believe that? And to top it off I was going on vacation in less than two weeks. I never went back and I went with someone else at a different salon who was able to squeeze me into their schedule and even out my ugly hair color, tone it to the gray I wanted, and completely fix my roots.
