Chicken Shawarma (Halal)
Sarah S.

I ordered from Uber Eats, and everything was delicious! I got the Chicken Platter (Halal) with 6-Pc Falafel, Tzaziki Sauce, and Hummus with Bread! They really have the best food in town, because it is so tasty, fresh, and delicious! The meat and sauces with fresh veggies and rice are so yummy, I always enjoy their food!

The service was absolutely 10/10, I didn't know what to order and normally have a hard time choosing what I want. A sweet lady offered suggestions, later giving me a sample of the chicken which made my decision so much easier. Food is delicious! Very nice experience :)

This is the best Mediterranean food I've had. Everything is so tasty and well seasoned. The customer service is outstanding.

....that secret sauce though.... On one of my monthly walk, talk and drops (flyers) I stopped in here on the good word of a friend in the know. He was right. This place is top notch! Malki, the owner, was working as usual and wearing many hats. She prepared the chicken shawarma as if she'd made it hundreds of times. It was quick and many others were right behind me waiting to put in. An order for the famous wrap. I like everything on it and extra spicy with the secret sauce. Pure deliciousness in every bite. Fast and friendly service and to top it all off, Malki is an awesome community member, participating in making the corridor a better place for the many local businesses. Only On Apache man! ...... I have been in community economic development (neighborhood level economic development) since 2012, helping start ups and small businesses to grow from surviving to thriving. My focus areas are commercial and cultural business districts, generally around public transit. Great spot tucked away near ASU. It's mostly buzzing with university kids good food , affordable prices and stays open until late in the night. I have just tried the chicken shawarma and the burgers the filling was great , especially with the red secret sauce. There is an extra 50 cents to get the sauce on the side. Toppings include lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and jalapeños. Overall a good find for those late night cravings. Cheers!

We ended up here accidentally after our two first choices were closed. Overall, a pretty decent experience. Read on... Atmosphere: Shawarma Paradise is in an older strip mall on the corner of Terrace Road and Lemon in an older part of Tempe. The strip mall looks a little sketchy. The atmosphere is very basic, the table tops are made from painted plywood, it's older and on a 10 point clean-scale, I would give it somewhere between a six and a seven. It's relatively comfortable. Service: The lady at the counter started off a bit quiet and shy, but seemed kind. We gave her lots of kudos and praise and that seemed to help her come out of her shell a little bit. She brought us our food with a smile, so that was nice. Overall, I would rate the counter service as an 8 1/2 out of 10. Food: The chicken Shawarma plate she made for us was enormous, which was great. The basmati rice under the chicken Shawarma was warm and steamy, the hummus was pretty decent although I've never had it with green olives in it, so that was a bit different. The pita was warm and large and soft. While the chicken Shawarma portion was gigantic, and it tasted pretty good, it wasn't the best I've had, a bit bland. The garlic sauce was delicious. They don't have a soda machine, so you'll be buying a bottle of something if you're thirsty. The chicken Shawarma plate was around $10 plus a drink, so pretty standard pricing. Overall I would rate Shawarma Paradise a 7 out of 10, making this a 3.5 star review. I would certainly go again and try something new if I were in the area and wasn't jonesing to try something new.

I thought this place was pretty good. I ordered The Falafel Sandwich and Mixed Platter. I enjoyed the sandwich it had great flavor. The platter wasn't my favorite but still pretty good. Next time I'd try one of the Kabobs.

BEST GYROS IN TEMPE Go up to the counter to order Subway style. The woman that helped us out was very friendly. She was the first person to tell me about a secret sauce so I had to try it on my gyro. Did not have to wait long for the gyros to be ready. I took the order to go and it was still warm when I got to my destination. Chicken gyro was wonderful. The flavor of the chicken itself was delicious. The added secret sauce might be spicy for some folks. The Traditional Gyro is very tasty. It is also nice that you have an opportunity to add your own twist to it with all the different topping options (not just the traditional lettuce, tomato, onion). Overall, if you are in the mood for a gyro this is the place to go.

The guy handling the food was scratching his a** while handling the food. Seem like they really need to work on food handling.

Parking is valet only, but since I'm not about that life, I found some parking on the street in a residential neighborhood five minutes away on foot. Ambiance (5/5): Definitely one of the areas in which thea shines. While they have both an indoor and outdoor area, I highly recommend sitting outside on the rooftop. If you do, you'll experience scenic views of the mountains in the background. If you can catch a sunset here, even better. Outside of the views, the restaurant has the fresh decor you would expect from a Mediterranean/Greek restaurant. There's also an outdoor area, and an indoor bar area, if you're just looking for drinks. Service (5/5): Attentive, friendly, and efficient service. Exactly what I was hoping for, especially on my birthday. They were kind enough to hook me up with a dessert for my special day. Much appreciated! Drinks (4.5/5): A full bar with a nice wine list and an interesting cocktail menu. I split a bottle of wine with my parents, but also started off with a refreshing cocktail. Food (5/5): I started off with the flaming saganaki because how can you say no to cheese flambeed table side. Dinner with a little entertainment. If you've never had saganaki cheese, it's a delicious Greek cheese. Pair it with some pita bread and you have yourself a delicious app. From there, I had the grilled skirt steak with crushed potatoes. Naturally, I ordered my steak medium rare. The skirt steak was sliced and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were well seasoned and paired nicely with the steak. All in all, a perfect meal. My parents similarly had great things to say about their selections. Thea isn't cheap. And it does have the see and be seen type of vibe which I'm not a big fan of. Yet, despite all of that, it's an excellent dining experience all-around. While it's more of a special occasion type of spot in my book, I'm definitely looking forward to stopping by again sometime!
