The pastor and the members went out of their way to get to know us - starting the very first week. (Good luck sneaking in. This is a welcoming place!) The preaching is on point, working through a passage each week, verse by verse. There are Bible studies and classes for the entire family throughout the week. We have made cornerstone our church home, and have found that the warm welcome only gets better as you plug in and become a part of this incredible body of believers.

Everyone is fairly welcoming and they have great events/programs at this church. Being a college student, I like that they have other college student attendees during the summer. I usually attend the 9:30 am English service and the bible study after. I think that the English pastor is very personable and he gives great sermons that a young adult would find interesting and exciting. When I came in the summer, they also had events on Friday night for smaller group/discussion based learning. I thought that the hot topics were very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed them. If you are looking for a nice, family-orientated church, I would definitely recommend SWCBC. Please don't think you are limited by Ethnicity here because there is "Chinese" in the title of the church.

Since it was the first Sunday and I wanted the Lord's Supper, I decided to visit here. The congregations was very warming, I felt comfortable being there for the first time. Rev. Robert Simpson Jr. spoke on Matthew 13:31-32 Mustard Seed. He was really good and really funny as he made his points. I really enjoyed it. I told my daughter about the sermon, and she said the Pastor had some good points. I'm sure I'll visit here again.Ten stars.

If you are looking to get spiritually fed, along with having the chance to interact with your Pastor on a personal level, then you need to give this flock a chance. That is what makes this church a 5 star experience instead of a 4 star experience. There is a lot to be said about a sheep in the flock that has a Shepherd that is not afraid, or to high and mighty, to get his hands dirty by personally tending to his sheep.

I've lived through the hymnal, the Gaithers, CCM, Terry MacAlmon and now, Elevation. Its all good. But the leader here fuses it all. Seriously. the choir, the orchestra - man o man. What a blessing. Then there's Taylor - the pastor. young. smart. a student. great preparation. very fine presentation. you don't leave tense and never feel dumb. he's kind. great facility. a lot of classes (and you're never stuck in only one. I've been to several.) point is: you should go there.

I truly love this church, but lately it has been distracting the services. My partner and I go to…read morethe couples seminars and the Embrace, just soaking up the knowledge of God but the amount of noise is becoming too much. For the last couple of Sundays the children on the right side of the sanctuary are making noises, crying and laughing and none of the parents are approached to tell them to step out to gain control or assist them to prevent from distracting others. Today on Mother's Day we were in the middle in the back by the cameras and this mother was struggling with her son, he was grabbing things and crawling on the floor in the isle and between the seats. Then another child was climbing on the robes at the same time. Crying and screaming while Lady J was giving a beautiful message. Nobody approached them to assist them. Also one of the staff members walked up beside me and start using a clicker to do a head count and it didn't only distract me but a person two rows ahead turned around to see where the noise was coming from. I just want to be fully engaged, or maybe I should sit on the left side. Btw when me and my partner asked about the H community in the lobby they just told me to go to the app. Umm okay! That was very helpful. This could be hurting yall if there is no actual communication. Like I said at the beginning of love Pastor J and Lady J, but there needs to be some changes or help.

People don't realize churches still have a business side that runs 7 days a week and most times 24 hours a day. Yet they take time to properly plan events and activities with everyone in mind. They are just as generous as they ask for others to be. I really love their focus on the married population. Even singles can prepare themselves for promising relationships. I just wish it was closer to my home so I can attend in person more and get active. I attend about twice a month. Keep growing and aspiring faith!

The Mother's Day Out Program at First Baptist Church of Richmond is amazing! The classes are small…read morewhich allows for these developing minds to get all the guidance they need. The project and activities have taught my little guy (2.5) more than I would have excepted in one school year. The leaders of the program are very active, attentive, and visible in the school! Everyone that we have encountered here from leadership to teacher to other parents have been friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend this program if you have a budding mind in your home!

I trust my little one is priority and the focus of their efforts. Her teachers show affection towards their class. And my girl both looks forward to "going to school" and returns home happy! The director Ashley amazes me with her knowledge of all that is going on. By that I mean: every child's name, their parents names, what days everyone is attending, what's going on with all the classes.... every time I speak to her (which is just about every day my daughter attends) she greets me and has something relevant to say. It is very apparent that her sole focus is the betterment of the program and all that attend. All that said, the fact that I send my precious child here should be recommendation enough.
