However, with the emergence of COVID, the fear re-emerged in full force, to a near-paralyzing degree. Lona provided such kindness, encouraging feedback, and usable techniques that I was able to separate a bit from the irrational beliefs and live more fully in the moment right beside them. I also joined a DBT group as well as attended weekly individual therapy, and the skills I learned in both places and practiced throughout the weeks helped to trigger a part of the brain that is more rational and productive. These skill sets in both therapies - for a course of about two years - revolutionized my life. I had been in and out of therapy for many years, but through this practice began to see where the old, deep-seated fear lived, was able to challenge and overcome it more thoroughly than ever before. DBT has many skills to teach that allows one to live successfully with opposites, such as fear and the walking through it. Many therapies talk of doing the same kind of work, but I found Lona brought an art to her practice that let me feel safe enough to move forward and reclaim my life. Through her gentle support, I was able to go back to school online during the pandemic and complete six courses that allowed me to finally realize a dream that I had put off for 35 years: that of becoming a licensed mental health counselor, which as of last month, I now am. Dr. Zhang takes the time to listen to you and to work with you to adjust medications as needed. Over those 12 years, I went through different phases in my life and needed to adjust meds accordingly. It was very comforting to know that I could count on Dr. Zhang to be there for me. I completely trusted him. I recently relocated to FL to a city that is literally a medical desert. I could not find a psychiatrist for my medication management and had to go with a psychiatric NP. The woman is like a robot. I really miss Dr. Zhang being my psychiatrist and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a psychiatrist. I wish he could do out of state telemed.

They don't send new prescription to the pharmacy on time and I also ran into an issue with her billing office trying to charge me for an EEG from over a year ago, which was covered by my insurance. I ended up having to switch doctors because I've been trying to get an appointment for several weeks now. I'm sad because I like Dr Wu, but I can't call every day until someone answers.

Marsha Heiman is a terrible therapist despite her reputation. I received therapy from her for about…read more7 years, about 30 years ago. She is considered an expert in treating child sexual abuse. While it's true that I did suffer from some child abuse, Marsha attempted to uncover memories that I was unaware of by the use of hypnosis. She kept digging and digging by asking leading questions to try to recover more memories that she thought I had forgotten. During this extremely emotional process, she attempted to persuade me to create, what is known as "false memories" Please google what this is and how easily this is done. She even got a group therapy member to create additional false memories of "satanic ritual abuse". Please also google. This type of abuse was disproven years ago, which proves that false memories of this type were created by some therapists. Ms Hyman creates a dependency on her, and like the previous reviewer makes you think you'll need many, many years of treatment from her. She has an inflated confidence in herself and unfortunately she has a reputation that needs to be questioned. She caused me to question my ability to trust myself. Fortunately I gave up on her, and have recovered my self confidence over the years. Because of him I learned why I had been feeling so ill for all of those years. I had severe deficiencies with my Vitamin D and Iron. He got me on prescription Vitamin D and Iron and even called me on the phone to see how I was doing with the medication. Dr. Kaladas called for follow up blood work to monitor my progress. I'm happy to report that I've been feeling so much better in the short 4 months that I've been under Dr. Kaladas' care. My family has noticed that I have more energy. My Vitamin D and Iron levels have improved. I recommend this doctor. The only thing that I wish is for Dr. Kaladas to be affiliated with more than just one hospital (Somerset Medical Center).
