Absolutely appalling experience.
A trusted tyre specialist inspected my vehicle, advised exactly what needed to be done, and even phoned this garage beforehand to explain it. The instructions were simple and were communicated multiple times: fit two new tyres to the front, remove the flat tyre from the rear, and replace it with the best of the remaining tyres. I also witnessed a note being written down by staff confirming these instructions.
Despite this, the work was carried out incorrectly. While the tyres were being fitted, I could see there was confusion among the mechanics, so I repeated the instructions again to ensure there was no misunderstanding.
The following morning, I discovered the same tyre was flat. When I returned to query it, instead of acknowledging the mistake, I was met with a series of contradictory explanations. First, I was told my old tyres were still on site. Then another mechanic told me they had been scrapped. I was then informed that the tyre in question wasn't the original flat tyre and was simply low on air, only to be told shortly afterwards that it was in fact a flat tyre -- and apparently not the original one.
The reality is that I had already received professional advice and knew exactly what work should have been completed. The instructions were clear from the outset and were repeated several times.
Mistakes can happen in any business. What I found unacceptable was the way the situation was handled afterwards. The original flat tyre had in fact been taken off and put back on in error.
There was no accountability, no willingness to listen, and no genuine attempt to resolve the issue until I effectively had to stand over the vehicle and watch the work being carried out myself & asked to be shown the flat on the tyres that were removed - reluctantly carried out.
After spending €475 on two new tyres, I expected a far higher standard of workmanship and customer service. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, dismissed, and completely lacking confidence in the explanations I was being given - if I was a male I wonder would I have been treated the same?!
I will not be returning and would strongly advise others to think carefully before using this garage. read more
