My diamonds are near colorless and have zero inclusions that I could find, even with the loupe. I told the person helping us that I wanted similar or better quality in the 1.5-2 carat range. She proceeded to bring me three or four diamonds that had visible inclusions to the naked eye. Because of "pricing". I would highly recommend Shane Co. My husband bought my engagement ring here about 17 years ago. We also bought both our wedding bands here about 16 years ago. We've always had awesome customer service, whether it's coming in to get our rings cleaned or needing repairs. The repair turnover time isn't too long either. I think the most I've ever had to wait is 3-5 days. Over the last 5-7 years, some of the smaller diamonds on my wedding band have fallen out. I've taken my ring in to get these replaced with no issues and no charges. Since we live in Vancouver, it's not super convenient to have to drive all the way out to Tigard, but it's well worth it for customer service alone. Their warranty can't be beat! Even during COVID, they were super accommodating with curbside drop-off and pick-up. Overall, my husband and I are big fans of Shane Co. I would like to share my experiece with the Shane Co. in Tigard, OR because of how deeply touched and filled with gratitude I feel. My husband brought me to Shane Co. to pick out my wedding ring almost 16 years ago and we go there periodically for the free cleanings and inspections of the ring. I have also had to have them adjust the band a few times due to weight loss and they have been so great about helping us. Recently, I had a not so good experience with one of the sales people, she advised me that my ring could not be resized and that the band could not withstand any more adjustments. I was shocked and truly disappointed and decided to just leave. I called a couple days later, as her demeanor had a profound effect on me and made me feel like I was a bother to her and I wanted clarification or some kind of resolution or miracle to resize my most precious wedding ring. I spoke with Thad, he immediately gave me a sincere apology and advised me the next time I could make it in, to ask for him personally, and he would see if there was anything thatthey could do. When we made it into Shane Co. a couple weeks later, Thad was there waiting for us. He examined my ring and immediately said that there was more than enough gold to make something happen for us. He went ahead and brought up his colleague Shane, to see what kind of solution that they could find. Immediatly, Shane agreed with Thad's assessment of the amount of gold to work with and then suggested putting in a couple speed bumps to help stabilize the ring andprevent it from free twirling around my finger. When they put my ring together, they did a rush order same day due in a couple hours. So I walked around the mall nearby. After I got the ring, I was so excited and then realized when I got home and was taking pictures that there was a mini diamond missing on the crown. Since I don't live in the area, it felt a bit sad. Equipped with only a link of a ring that my girlfriend, now fiancé, had wanted, Melisa and I communicated only via email for nearly a month to find that perfect engagement ring. This was extremely helpful as it worked with my schedule and made me feel more comfortable with the global pandemic still happening. Throughout the process, Melisa emailed me photos of several different settings and diamond options to make sure I considered everything. On a super low end I was thinking $400 as I knew diamonds are intrinsically worthless but if they are selling them for many thousands of dollars you'd think they'd offer better. They offered $46 for a $3,000 ring. So again. Before you buy anything from them or any jeweler for that matter. That $3,000 you just handed over is worth approximately $50 to them and others in the end. It's truly the worst investment you make. My ring was purchased at the CA location, and I live in Albany, Oregon. After not even owning the ring about a month a small diamond had fallen out. So as usual I kept it in its box. Only wearing it a few times. (And that's ridiculous mind you for a ring that's worth over $5,000 and brand new) I wear it again, and another side diamond fell out. So now I have to drive an hour away to get my new ring fixed. I first called the CA store and requested a manager. I spoke with a gentleman (can't remember his name) he was amazing! He said I could go in to the Tigard location and I may exchange it for the exact ring, a even exchange on a different ring w the same price or I may have it fixed. The option was mine. I am the customer, right? He said he would annotate our conversation into the stores notes associated with my account. When I got to the Tigard location of course it becomes a "thing". Long story short the manager comes up to me to tell me 1) the design I purchased just has that happen.the small diamonds fall out due to the type of setting I chose 2) "oh, well if you run your fingers through your hair, hair can make the diamonds fall out" 3) there was the exact ring in a box my size and I said I'd like that one and evenly exchange it. 4) managers response was no and that , that may be a future option if the diamonds fall out again I of course told her about the notes and that I was told my options, but if I said anything else I'm sure she would of acted like I was making a issue. Her response was that it hasn't even been seen by a jeweler for a cleaning and that it's policy for that first. So why on earth even show me the new ring? Next, I have no confidence in my ring or the Shane Company. I was literally told that the style I chose and my own hair will make the diamonds fall out in the future. I have two kids and you think I want to drive a total of two hours to always get my ring fixed? A ring that is this expensive should not have diamonds falling out! That manager did not like me for whatever reason and her ability to communicate with me and see my needs as a customer we're not met. I would never want someone like that to work for my company. I feel bad for the girl that was being trained by her that day. Also I never got my ring box back. I kept the red one, but I gave my ring w the dark box. It was returned in a pouch with ties.
