It is nice to be on a bridge. This one is particularly nice. At least when compared to the bridges I have been on. Like 8 of them. I imagine Shakespeare telling me secrets on his bridge here about things he used to do here growing up. He was so famous. Good for him. I hear his plays were pretty good. So good that he built a bridge that I get to walk on. Hopefully I get to make a bridge too, but I would Probably use my first name because Roberts' Bridge sounds like it belings to Robert and not Roberts' because most people don't know possessive apostrophes on words and names that end with S so they would have to be reading it instead of hearing it and even when people are reading since they don't know about the apostrophe thing they might assume it's some kind of umlat or something. Thank you

Maybe I live too close to see this as much of a marvel, but while it's nice to cross on runs, view is nothing special- wouldn't suggest going out of your way to see it?

    Here it is!

A beautiful landmark. .. not famous, but functional and meaningful. .. A souvenir of the past to my friend, Chel, I was happy to share happy memories with her as we crossed this bridge together. This was a symbol of the celebration of our journey through life. Although we physically live thousands of miles apart with a huge ocean between us, we know that our spirits dance with each other in good times and challenging times. She relayed that she used to walk along this bridge during her teenage years with her school friends. Now that we are adults, it's kind of cool to me that even though we are not in traditional school, we are lifelong learners and at times, use other methods of gaining knowledge. I felt honored to travel along this familiar path with Chel! Mahalo for the tour! I didn't have it bookmarked and I wouldn't have known about it if she hadn't have taken me here! Yelp has been my vehicle for non-traditional education. We share knowledge with one another and assist to the best of our abilities. There have been so many wonderful people that I have met and I'm so thankful that our paths have crossed. Chel is a great example of a treasure that I have found! Wishing you many more wonderful memories and adventures together! SYOY! Aloha!

The 2016 YELP 500, Review #114: A landmark which is very heavily traveled at times, so be careful. With so many photo options I don't know what to tell you. I came at sunset so the view looking up the hill would be illuminated more so then when looking downhill a.k.a. to the west. Also, the moon was high in the sky so that added to the beauty at dusk. NOTE: Unfortunately, someone took a Trader Joe's shopping cart and left it on the south western end of the bridge... Sigh, I blamed it on the damn Merchant of Venice... Venice, California maybe :-)

Yes, I am reviewing a bridge. See, this isn't just any bridge, but a tiny, secret bridge that is charming and unique and steeped in the type of history that makes you realize that L.A. is a never-endingly fascinating city, when you find something like this hidden away in a quiet residential street. Built in 1926, the bridge is Gothic in style but a simplified version. It is only about 200 feet, goes over houses down below and while I am not exactly sure it is structurally necessary, I'm so glad it's been preserved for its beauty and character. It makes any drive over it a little bit sweeter, and with how much time we spend in our cars every day, I'll take any variety and excuse to feel excited while sitting in my metal box as I can get.

This bridge is a bit anti-climatic. I guess it's cool in that there is some history behind this bridge, but you can pretty much drive across it in less than 3 seconds. :) The neighborhood around it is nice and pleasant, sorta out of a fairy tale. The shape of the pillars are rather interesting. Worth a drive across if you happen to be in the area.

To visit, you will need to reserve tickets to The Broad's general admission AND the Infinity Mirrored Room exhibit. I feel like if you're already going to The Broad you should also visit the Infinity Mirrored Room. I might be biased since I enjoy taking photos. The tricky thing is that the reservations for the Infinity Mirrored Room are released on the last Wednesdays of each month at 10am for the following month OR you have to keep an eye out for openings the day prior. They are currently not taking same day reservations. The reservations are time specific, but there will still be a 15-20 minute line. You can get in line 10-15 minute prior to your window slot and staff will probably not give you too hard of a time. You are expected to go in together with your group, unless you make reservations separately. If you want to go in alone for that selfie, you should make your own reservation. The maximum group size to enter together is 4 people. Any children under 13 must enter with an adult. Obviously, my boyfriend was dragged to go with me. Before our visit, I was researching what poses to do since the time is so limited. And then when we were in line I gave him a quick run down of the plan. It worked out nicely and we were able to take a few photos, a quick video and still had a few seconds to actually enjoy the art installation beyond the selfie taking purposes. This experience was very special for me. I think the careful planning and taking feedback from others allowed me to enjoy my visit. One minute can go by quick if you wait to get inside the room to coordinate your poses. And coming with someone I care about makes it even more memorable.

No complaints about the actual experience itself, it's beautiful and definitely Instagram-worthy. BUT. That wait vs. payoff ratio? Wild. You're standing there forever, building up the moment, just to get ushered in and out in what feels like 60 seconds flat. By the time you're adjusting your camera and telling your family where to stand, it's already "okay time's up." Like... we just got here?? Honestly, I'd rather they charge more and give people a few extra minutes. Let us actually take it in, enjoy it, and get decent photos without feeling rushed like we're on some kind of aesthetic speed run. That said, it is a must-see at least once. Just go in knowing it's more of a quick visual experience than something you can really sit with.

It's also where you can see Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in person in the Hollyhock House. The house is very angular, but I can see in the almost sand sculpture-like stone carvings the abstract interpretations of the flower. That being said, I wish there were more hollyhocks on the property or maybe they just weren't in bloom. You're free to take all the photos you want outside, but leading into the house I saw a sign saying "No entry without a ticket beyond this point" as well as an image of a camera with a slash across it. Ironically, though, I've seen people post photos of the interior, so I don't know what the deal is with that. Also, it's supposedly closed on Sunday, but I came on a Sunday and the door was open and people were taking a tour. While looking at Google Maps, I saw that there's another Frank Lloyd Wright building they're working on called Residence A, but as of right now I don't think it's open to the public yet. Since looking at the outside of the Hollyhock House and the sweeping views is relatively quick, you can kill more time looking at the art buildings also on the property. I came when the art gallery was closed, but if you go to the Barnsdall Junior Arts Center, you can see murals and sculptures outside. And I don't know if the stone carvings are original or just recreated to match the Frank Lloyd Wright house, but I saw near the restrooms of the Arts Center stone carvings that you can actually get up close to. I looked up who Barnsdall was and she was an oil baron heiress who hired Frank Lloyd Wright to build the house and then she donated it and the land to the city to be an arts center. She also dedicated it to her father. As for parking, there's 3 areas: The bottom level where you'll have to take the stairs to get up to the main area, but if you drive up further onto Upper Road (turn right at the fork) you can park right up front where the views are, or you can turn left at the fork onto Lower Road and try to find parking by the Arts Center, but there will be signs saying certain areas are reserved for students and staff. I came when classes weren't in session, so I was ok, but even then I still tried to keep my distance from those reserved signs just in case, especially since there's security prowling the grounds. If you're a tourist, I can see the appeal of this place since you can check off a bunch of sites in one go. I live in L.A. and even though I've been here already a few times, at the very least the views don't fail to impress.

We took a bunch of photos just as anyone would and at the end of the day we took the drone out for a few more photos... We immediately ran up the trail to get the drone, Julia, was right behind me, and even though I told her to stay, she said no way. Her reply was that she made a vow to stand by me and she would follow me anywhere. (What could I say!?). So, white dress and high heels, we started up to the top. We searched with what little time we had left but unfortunately came up empty-handed and had to start back down the trail. Now we are All covered in dirt and stains from the track, Julia has her shoes off because there is no way to make a hike in high heels. We actually enjoyed just being together and having fun in the moment - even though she was in pain from no shoes. lol - I was proud she was being a trooper, but mostly happy that I married a really down to earth woman. When we got down to the bottom of the trail we realized that all of our photos from the wedding and the day were on that drone on a mini SD card. So we have come back and searched and searched and found nothing. I know somebody didn't get it because it's in an area with not much foot traffic and I have been right there since it went down. I ask that people share this and do what they can to help. All I really want is the SD card back with the photos, if anyone is willing to help me find it please contact me and I will send you the last known coordinates that I have of its location they are not exact but with a few more people I know we could find it.
