First time ever at a Shake Shack, and I'm sad that there isn't one closer to me to satisfy my junk food cravings. Everything here - burger, fries, chicken bites, sauces, desserts - hits the spot when I was hungry! It was bustling when we arrived for lunch and continued to be after we left, but there are multiple kiosks and even staff at the normal registers for orders. Food came out in decent time. Staff were working quickly but were still friendly. Burger patty is thin but juicy and flavorful. It got a little messy, but what burger isn't? I demolished it so fast that it surprised me, maybe because I had thought it was going to be more filling. Luckily I had fries and chickie nugs, too. Crinkle fries are rarely seen at restaurants, so it's nice to be able to munch on them! They got those extra zigzag ledges for sauce to become the only kind of stage 5 clingers allowed in life, so no complaints there. Chicken bites were simple and fun to eat. Not greasy or salty or heavily battered. Shakes and frozen custard were delicious dairy treats. I liked the chocolate shake, but I wish I had gotten the regular chocolate custard in a cup. Definitely trying that next time. Shake Shack is great, but gee whiz, it's expensive now; it's pushing towards Five Guys price almost! This location is excellent at 2nd and PCH, and you can get free parking in the 2nd & PCH garage by Whole Foods. When inside, it's more convenient to order on the screen. It does get packed on the weekends, too. I came here in the afternoon on the weekend, and the burger and fries didn't hit the same. The fries were old and had white spots like they were old. Still just as delicious as I remembered! This spot is in 2nd and PCH so it makes for a really cute spot to walk around after, too. It also gets crowded but you can usually get a table pretty quickly for a small party. We ate inside this time and our food came soon after we ordered. I'm a big fan of Shake Shack and this is probably the closest location to me. I like this location because its usually not as crazy busy as other locations. However, I do still find that they normally take their time and it can take a little while to order and wait to get your items. Their food normally is done right though. I love their burgers, chicken bites and shakes. This location has places to sit and is located on 2nd & PCH. Like any other restaurant here, there is structure parking and it is free the first 90 minutes. After that it is $2 per hour. read more

I would only go here for the Shroom Burger or the Shack Stack. In my opinion, the mushroom patty is the only thing that makes Shake Shack stand out amongst its competitors. There are lots of lemonade options, which I love. Their fries aren't amazing, but they are still good cold (they don't harden like McDonald's or In-N-Out fries). Ask for Shake Shack sauce to dip your fries in instead of using boring ketchup. It's definitely overpriced for fast food, so I don't come here too often. read more

As a former LBC resident, I really wanted to love this Shake Shack because it's still my closest Shake Shack, but alas I was more disappointed than my immigrant parents when I told them I wanted to go to art school. My go-to order has always been the Shroom Burger because, 1. I am a slut for cheese, and 2. I can pretend I'm being healthy by ordering something that doesn't have meat. But the mushroom had a weird elastic texture that was difficult to bite through and the amount of cheese in the shroom was laughable. To add insult to injury, it was deep fried way past golden brown to basically being burnt. The fries. Obviously I got the cheese fries. Tell me why the cheese sauce was cold, congealed and clumpy? Like, don't even apologize to me at this point, apologize to the cheese for mistreating it and preventing it from living up to its full potential. Lastly, the shake. THE SHAAAAAKE. The audacity, the gall, and the gumption of being called Shake Shack and touting "hand spun shakes." Shake Shack's strawberry shake used to be the STANDARD for shakes. But what did I get, after months of being good and resisting In-N-Out's shakes because I know they won't hit the way I personally need them to? I figured out that you must add each leaf of lettuce and each slice of tomato and whatever else. It confused me and I didn't feel like using up all my time to read and analyze every screen. I did NOT like their screens. Terrible. When I thought I was finished, I managed to pay with a card which I am very accustomed to. Then, amazingly the screen wanted a 30% tip. It had other options including one that said "no tip". Well do you know how badly I felt giving no tip? i felt bad! I couldn't tip after I had done all the work, but it feels bad to stiff servers even when they are screens. This is our go-to Shake Shack location as it is the only one closest to Orange County. We often frequent this location when we're visiting 2nd & PCH. We love that there's ample parking here at the parking structure since it's attached to the shopping plaza. Service here is great and food is always consistent. The crinkle-cut fries are always nice and crisp, the patties are usually juicy and flavorful, and the buns are always soft and pillowy. We generally like to order online for pick-up and it's usually ready within 10-15 minutes. I do recommend getting your veggies on the side, because they're a skimpy with the veggies and sometimes look wilted when you get them in your burger (In-n-Out wins for the best fresh veggies!). Overall, great spot for a local pick-up for us. During pandemic they offered curbside, which they still do now too! The burgers here are usually on the pricier side so be ready for that. Recently, they offered a BOGO deal on the Shackburger which isn't offered often (or ever) so take advantage of it if it happens again! We usually spend on average about $30 here which includes 2 burgers and 2 fries. The burgers need the Shacksauce in my opinion. It adds an additional layer of flavor to your burger. It's fast casual; you order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. My order: ShackBurger, fries, and chocolate milkshake. Everything is made to order so it took a couple minutes. The burger was fantastic, covered with tomato, lettuce and their yummy ShackSauce (according to burger aficionado Aaron E. it incorporates "Mayonnaise, Dijon Mustard, Ketchup, and Kosher Dill Pickling Brine"). I love that the bun is soft and sturdy yet is thin so the burger remains front and center. The crispy-on-the-outside crinkle fries were excellent, so much better than the frozen ones mom used to serve when I was a kid. I still get nostalgic every time I have crinkle fries. The chocolate milkshake, made with real ice cream, was as good as a milkshake can be. As excellent as the burger is I'd still come back here just for the milkshakes. A place that I crave once in a blue moon. I like getting their burger with everything in it with fries. My husband gets the shake stack with fries (not his favorite type of fries). The burgers are good but small and expensive. Their patties also look like they got thinner and smaller. Which means that we get a boba at Boba Guys after or grab dessert. I had shake shack before way out in Victorville not sure if it's the same or just shared a similar name (might of been Steak 'n Shake now that I think about it) but this place always has a line outside waiting to eat or a line of cars waiting on food. I have t mobile and thanks to them I had a deal for a "free shackburger" courtesy of T-Mobile Tuesday's. Came by before it expired and tried a single burger. Not a bad burger but also not the BEST. Expected a little more due to the amount of people always waiting to dine here but it's just a step above fast food in my honest opinion. I ordered a single patty BBQ burger, spicy fries, and a cherry limeade. The drink is pre-filled so no chance of a free refill. This all ran me about $23. Very expensive for a pretty small meal! The burger was alright, I did like the smashed patty. The fries were very disappointing. They're crinkle fries but I would bet a million dollars these were pre-frozen. The "spicy" component is just a hefty dusting of chili powder which makes for a LOT of coughing and sneezing- I can handle spice really well but when it's just a mountain of chili powder expect to cough and sneeze a lot! Not to mention they do not taste fresh at all, again I think these are definitely shipped to the store frozen. The drink is small, no refills. Service was quick but again, very hands off as you order it yourself on the kiosk. The computer asking for a tip is hilarious to me when I literally have barely interacted with any worker here lol. I had set pick-up time for 5:30Pm but I got there at 4:50pm and called them to ask if there is somehow work on my order earlier.
