I came to shake shack on a Saturday afternoon and it was crazy busy. They had an employee greeting you as you entered. Their menu is pretty basic composed of mainly burgers of course. I ordered a double hamburger and fries. Unfortunately the person taking my order missed the fry order so I just ended up with the burger which was probably best since I was already splurging with the calories. The burger was really good though I liked the old fashion patties. They had staff coming around offering to throw things you were done with away and everyone I encountered were pretty pleasant. This was my first visit to Shake Shack and I can see why it's a cult favorite. The burger I had at this fast food joint was, no lie, the best burger I've ever had in my life. I was hesitant to come here with a friend at first but I was glad I did. Their spicy chicken sandwich was perfectly spicy, moist, flavorful, and breaded. I also enjoyed the pickles and dressing they put on top. This is better quality than your average fast food joint. The portion sizes are a bit smaller than you get elsewhere but perhaps this portion size is healthier for you. I wish there was a location closer to me. read more

Meh. We ate at this location a couple of years ago and then again for lunch earlier this week. We've also eaten at another location. Our first trip was fantastic, but this was mediocre. We know, going in to a Shake Shack, to expect a crowd and that we'll wait for a seat. It's a bummer, but expected. The food wasn't as yummy as usual. My burger didn't taste terribly fresh and my daughter's chicken sandwich was incredibly greasy. Cheese fries were good but could have used more cheese. I heard the hype and I was not impressed! This location is nice but very busy of course. So make sure you can snag a seat first if you have a crew with you. I tried the cheeseburger and fries but I didn't like it. The cheeseburger and Bun were very greasy and too "wet" for me. The burger did not taste good at all. We only went for the shakes (and a small order of fries) but the all star of the visit was what they call "concretes." I got the Shack Attack which was chocolate custard, dark chocolate chunks and some chocolate truffle cookie dough mixed into a blizzard-like concoction. It was incredible. My boyfriend and I were super excited to check this place out since it opened in the Habor, but every time we went there was a huge line out the door. We decided to stick around one day and the line actually moved pretty fast, but trying to find a seat was near impossible. We ended up awkwardly sharing a table with another couple so it wasn't the best dining experience. About the food: my boyfriend got the double cheeseburger and I got the single. They were both incredibly mediocre. The patties were really thin, not much taste, and not juicy at all so I ended up smothering it with ketchup and mustard. There was absolutely NOTHING special about it. We also ordered 2 Natty Bohs which were very warm as soon as we got them so we were pretty disappointed. We chugged them anyway and headed out as soon as we could since the restaurant was literally piling up with people everywhere. It was actually a bit stressful eating there because everyone is standing around staring at you, waiting to claim your table. If you want an actual good burger, hit up Smash Burger in Fells Point. I wanted to like you, Shake Shack, but it just didn't work out between us. It's not me, it's you. My fiance and I grabbed lunch here over the weekend after spending a few hours at the aquarium. We'd heard good things and figured hey, we're almost never in the Inner Harbor, so let's give it a shot. He's a burger type of guy and I'm a vegetarian, but I had faith that Shake Shack would have something I could grub on. I ended up ordering a Coke and the shroom burger, which sounded delicious on the menu description, my fiance ordered a burger (I can't remember what it was specifically) and a chocolate shake, and we split an order of fries. The total came to around $25. When our buzzer finally alerted us that our food was ready, we were surprised at the small portion sizes of our respective burgers. We were also surprised that my fiance's $5 milkshake was so tiny. He seemed to like his burger okay, and he said the milkshake wasn't bad but also wasn't worth the money it cost. The fries tasted like McDonald's fries, and I could have gotten the same fries for a fraction of the price by hitting up the local grocery store and grabbing a bag of frozen Ore Ida's. My shroom burger was kind of gross. At first, I had high hopes. It looked like a delicious, crispy, deep fried piece of heaven. The minute I bit into it, it popped on the side and some of the cheese filling started to ooze out. I'm not gonna lie, it was kind of like biting into and popping a giant zit. Not a great first impression there, shroom burger. It was also so greasy that, by the time I was nearing the last few bites, I had to throw in the towel or risk gagging. One more thing to nitpick: the staff were kind of rude. They keep their soda fountain behind their counter, and when I went up to ask for a refill of my Coke, after waiting about a minute for the girl behind the counter to notice that I even existed, she greeted me with, "Yeah, you want something?" Overrated. I'm not afraid to say that at all. If you have been near the Inner Harbor within the last few months, you'll notice a pretty long line at Shake Shack that sometimes wraps around the building. Luckily for me, my visits here have avoided those extremely long lines and I can be in and out. A couple people that I know have been harping to me how I should try Shake Shack and the whole pom and circumstance. Well, I tried it, and I'm not overly impressed. I grabbed the Shackburger and a side of fries. For both, the total came to a little under $10. After indulging in my first ever burger at Shake Shack, my thought was, "this burger is good, but I'm not going to stop going to my other favorite burger places in place of Shake Shack." I do want to try out the milkshakes if I do decide to come back to SS in the future. With Chik-Fil-A being right next door to Shake Shack, I'm optimistic that Chik-Fil-A will not be dethroned from the throne anytime soon. Overall, I think Shake Shack is a decent option for a burger while being in Downtown Baltimore. I really wanted to dislike Shake Shack. My preconceived ideas of this burger joint was that it was a slightly better McDonald's. Yes, I admit I am a snob. There is a counter, a line and they serve burgers. But Shake Shake is different. They serve decent food. I went in on a lovely sunny lunch time, as the whole population of the city offices tried also to order food. The service was fast, like fast food, and the place was nice and clean. I had the standard - a burger, fries and drink. The burger did not disappoint. The bun was soft, the burger juicy and the fries crispy. It didn't taste cheap or processed. Shake Shack is really crushing the lunch competition in the Inner Harbor! My sister was visiting from out of town so we decided to stop by and get a burger to go. It was Wednesday at 2pm and it was PACKED. Luckily the line moved fairly quickly and we waited about ten minutes to get our burger. I usually frequent the Shake Shack at union station in DC and the food tasted about the same. The burger, which we at a few hours later, was still delicious! It comes with a soft potato roll, lettuce, tomato, and their special creamy sauce. I think the sauce is what makes the burger special. My only qualm about Shake Shack is that the burger can sometimes be a little oily and it is NOT CHEAP at all! My sister noted that it really doesn't compare to In N Out and I definitely agree. It's also twice as expensive and the burger isn't huge. The fries portion size is also on the smaller size. read more

The lady who took our order explained everything to us as it was our first time and then while we were waiting one of the people working their cleaning the tables stopped and asked us how everything was. Maybe 4.75 The location is great, if you are walking around. But, on one of the coldest nights in Baltimore history we made the very short drive. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of street parking so we parked in the surface lot across the street. $10 evening special- ripoff. But, the price to pay for the Shack experience. It was crowded, there was a lady greeting people and handing out menus, a nice touch. Ordering was efficient and friendly. Too bad the seating area wasn't bigger as during peak times it may be tough to find a seat. The burgers are delicious. Perfectly cooked, shake sauce, soft potato roll... mouth watering. The crinkle cut fries, are usually inferior to regular fries, but these were crispy and perfectly salted. Beer and wine available, and tap water faucet by the condiments. The one let down was the concrete. We ordered 3 and each appeared to be a different size. I commented and the server was happy to have them make another. Sadly, it didn't pack the salty/caramel flavor I was hoping for. Oh well. Overall, a fantastic experience similar to the one in NYC and DC. It will continue to be crowded and after the Chick-Fil-A opens next door, it will likely be the most crowded spot in Baltimore. I hope they can maintain the quality and enthusiasm they displayed last night. read more

After traveling for 5.30 hours, and waiting for the other group to come, we decided to get something to eat. We decided on this, It wasn't as crowded as The one in GCT. I just wanted a hotdog, no drink because i had my water bottle. It came to be just under $4.00 dollars. I wanted to use the bathroom, so i can wash my hands. I didn't know that there was a code on the receipt for the bathroom. So when i asked where was the bathroom, she said where is the receipt. I had put it in my wallet and left it on the table with my group. So i had to run outside to get it. Bathroom line was long. There is only two and they are both unisex. An employee was in one of them, she was in there for maybe ten minutes. So we were just using the one. Then my gadget starts beeping, meanwhile still waiting, so i asked them to hold my place in line. Run to get my hotdog, only to see someone else has it in his hands. Like what the heck. Hello, why do you have my hotdog, turns out he was a manager and i guess they were going to try and find me cause i wasn't answering the beeper thing right away. Anyway, i put it on the table, and run back to the line. You know it didn't move at all. Finally, the employee comes out, Go in. Bathroom is nice and clean. Hotdog was very good, the staff was friendly. They even came outside to find out if we were okay, or if we needed anything else. They even took our trays inside for us. I'm also happy that we got there when we did cause it started to get busy there. I would recommend them to anyone who is in the area. read more

Went here today to see what all the fuss was about. Left mildly unimpressed. The place was absolutely packed and we had to wait to get a table. Once we finally sat down there were people crowded all around us waiting for tables, so I felt rushed to eat my meal. I ordered a single shack burger, a hot dog, and fries. The fries were easily the best part. The burger was good, but not great or incredible. Also, the hot dog was just good. The price of the food and the atmosphere kinda killed it for me. I would probably eat it again if my friends wanted to go there, but it's definitely not "amazing" like some people have said. read more

The burgers, fries are the best nonfrozen I have ever had. I must say they are better than my creations the homeless are free to roam the restaurant asking for money. The bathroom is locked so you have to buy something to use the bathroom. This doesn't keep the homeless from using them though.
