The workers at this location on 06/11/26 at approx 11:13AM are in dire need of training. I went to pickup an order that had already been placed and was ready for pickup. When I entered the restaurant there was a customer standing a feet few away from the pickup counter, and no one else but me standing directly at the pick up counter waiting to be helped. There was a Black boy yelling out orders who glanced at me but never once acknowledged me, nor did anyone else working there. He came back to the pick up counter twice to yell out orders. There were four other employees in the prep area, three of whom were literally standing there doing nothing. They looked at me several times, and never offered me any help, nor asked a colleague to help me. Then a white woman walked in the restaurant, walked up to the same counter I was standing at, an arms length away from me, and the young Black boy who was calling out orders was about to help her over me. I had to interject and point out that my order had been sitting on the shelf. At Shake Shack across County. I had a great experience during my visit where the food was excellent and the service was great. I ordered a double ShackBurger and added avocado for a two-dollar upcharge which was totally worth it because the meal was both delicious and fresh. I also got an Oreos and cream shake without whipped cream and it was so good that I even dipped my fries in it which is a combination I would highly recommend. The fries themselves were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned with salt. The entire order came out exactly right with no mistakes. Although the ambience around was very loud and noisy it did not cause too much trouble for our visit. Beyond the food the staff was very friendly and welcoming and the team was actively keeping the place tidy by cleaning the floors while we were there. I had a pretty frustrating experience at this Shake Shack. I only ordered a water bottle, and somehow it still took 10 minutes to get it. There was one girl working as a runner who was clearly trying her best she kept asking for the orders repeatedly and was staying on top of things even though the screen was on red. You could tell she cared and was doing her job. But the problem was the guy who was supposed to be handing the orders to her. He looked like he couldn't care less. He wasn't paying attention, didn't seem like he wanted to be there, and acted like it wasn't his problem. I also got regular crinkle fries and shack Meister beer. The total was about $24 bucks pretty reasonable for NYC burgers. The chick and bite burger was everything what I expected it to be crispy chicken breast with lettuce pickles and buttermilk mayo. There was nothing really that stood out to me. The sandwich was good but nothing amazing about it. The hamburger was the same nothing out of the ordinary so I don't understand what was the hype about it. Sometimes the fries are not hot, as if they were sitting out for a while before being served. Forget ordering delivery, these burgers dont hold up well and food arrives cold. Shake Shack is always a solid spot to eat whether it is lunch or dinner. I would go if it was open for breakfast. A sleeper on the menu is the shroom burger. It is surprisingly delicious. I usually go with the burger but I have been trying to take it easy with meat and this is a good option. The crinkle cut fries with cheese sauce are also top notch. They always are cooked just right. They also have the best service out of any fast food chain. There is a person that comes around and asks you how the food was and takes your tray if needed. Really kind! Shake Shack is not by any means a gourmet burger spot. However, they do fast food burgers really well in my opinion. The patties are the biggest so getting a double won't make you feel too guilty and they taste better than other burgers. After my run I was craving a burger thanks to my running companions so I decided to give in to my belly and drag hubby here to split a burger. We ordered a Double Shackburger and fries. Since we split it, we basically each had a whole protein-packed beef patty and only one bun. So, we were staying light on our carb intake (don't argue with my justifications). I nixed the tomato and added onion and pickle. It was the perfect burger for what I wanted; something simple, slightly greasy with cheese and a good beef flavor. The fries were really good also but only the ones on top tasted seasoned. I rounded out my half of the meal with a fifty/fifty and was satisfied. Their burgers are decent. I've only been here twice because it is easy to get to and I like the flavor of their food so I try to stay away because it's bad for me. Very bad...but good. And yummy. I love Shake Shack in general. The pros: their burgers are so good....with cherry pepper relish on them with some raw onion? Killer. The fries....SO GOOD. Their new chicken nuggets - they remind me of Chik Fil A chicken nuggets, but without the homophobia. The BBQ sauce that comes with those chicken nuggets? SECOND TO NONE. They need to jar that shit and sell it, b/c I would buy it and smother it all over my grilled meats. Honestly, I feel like they just do everything they need to do right. This particular Shake Shack I've been to twice. First time, the line was almost out the door, but it kept moving, and the tall, thin black guy who was at the counter was so friendly and amazing and upbeat - definitely give kudos to that guy for handling a huge number of customers one after the other with a friendly smile on his face but at a fast, efficient pace that didn't feel rushy or pushy. Someone give this man a raise! Second time I ordered ahead for pick up, so it saved some time - would def recommend using the app so you can avoid waiting on the line. I'd say to time it to be in the store within 10-15 min so your food isn't sitting there in a bag just dying. Down side: it's expensive. Expect to spend at least $15-20 per person. While I am a fan for Shake Shack, I find the food to be very good, and the prices can be quite steep, but its NY, and the average price of a good burger seems to be about 8 to 10 bucks top. Its more about the service. While some locations are better then others, this one needs an employee customer service intervention ASAP. I was happy that the line being so long that they do work quickly to take your order, and they actually have tables available for you to sit down and eat at, I didnt even have to wait long for my order, in a restaurant that seem like it had a 1000+ people in it. In my opinion, Shake Shack is the crown jewel of all these fast food-ish burger places that have popped up in recent years. They have successfully expanded out of Manhattan into the outer boroughs and beyond, and when I saw that this location in Yonkers was open, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to treat myself. This particular Shack is located within the Cross County Shopping Center; the decor is similar to other locations I've been to (wood and black color scheme, menu on the wall, etc.). In addition to indoor seating, they have some outside tables as well. The line moved relatively quickly - the employees at the counter were great. I went simple with a single Shack Burger and a side of fries. The burger was so good - tasty, flavorful - mmmmmm. Fries were good as well - such a treat having Shake Shack. Headline: Fast Food? Not So Much. Worth the wait? again, Not So Much Long story,10/24/2020 Sat afternoon at the local mall. Want to grab a quick bite, so I open the Shake Shack App and place an order, pay for it and the app says pickup around 4:55. Remembering that I didn't order any drinks I still get in line to place the drink order. The line is moving fairly fast so I don't need to redo an App based order. Well, once I place the order and go to the pickup door I realize that there is no order to the method of pickup and or how orders are being assembled. How can I tell that it's complete chaos? Well, during my 40 minute wait I took a few pictures. The one of the kitchen area clearly shows that there are large amounts of cooked food orders sitting in the bin/warmer waiting to be assembled/trayed. Notice I didn't say bagged, even if everyone is getting a bag with their goodies. Nope, the process appears to be that the kitchen/grill area cooks and places orders under a headlamp, a second person picks the order and places it on a tray, a third person, presumably checks the items against the order receipt and takes the tray to another area to be bagged and leaves it for the person delivering it out the door. Notice the large amount of bags sitting near the door. I understand that they are servicing DoorDash/delivery orders and these could be those just waiting for the driver. Trust me they were not. I saw plenty of people waiting for their food peeking in the door to see if their name was on the bags that sat on that table. I don't blame them at all. I'd like my $6 cheeseburger to still be warm. Social distancing went right out the window, the staff had masks, but proper wearing technique was lacking (noticeable in the pictures as well). While the following suggestions are free for Shake Shack to do with what they wish, realize that it's valuable and I would normally charge about $1K - $2K to do a consultation on your local establishment and provide such feedback. Suggestions, 1- rethink the pulling, bagging and delivering organization and methodology. (for an improved method feel free to contact me) 2- Separate pickup and delivery orders prior to assemble 3- organize pickup area for customers to maintain proper social distancing standards 4- install some kind of PA system to announce order names/numbers that are ready for pickup instead of having staff shouting names from the door while they hold the bag of food. That just increases chances of virus spread. (see CDC recommendations regarding shouting). 5- Inform customers of current wait times, like at Disney. If I knew what my actual wait time would have been, instead of the fantasy pickup time in the app or on my receipt, I might have still ordered, but I wouldn't have felt as "tricked". read more

Finally! Before this location opened, the only location(s) for Shake Shack that I knew of were in Manhattan - and the line was so long basically all of the time, that I refused to ever stand in that line no matter how much I heard about how good Shake Shack was. I figured maybe eventually I'd set aside time to stand in a long line or perhaps I would get lucky one day and there'd be no line. And no, I'm not one of those people who have a problem standing in any line, but a line that long for a burger - no. Anyway, when I heard this location opened, I got excited at the prospect of finally being able to taste something/anything from Shake Shack, even if it was located in Cross County - a mall I really don't like too much and only go when I have no other choice. Of course when I got there, there was a line - though not nearly as long as Manhattan. I made a plan to finally try Shake Shack and I was determined to stay in said line no matter how slow it would be - though it wasn't too terrible. The line was out the door and I can only wonder what people will do on rainy or bitterly cold days. I made a plan to order the Smoke Shack and the Shackburger along with fries. Once I got closer to the register did I notice the Bacon Cheddarshack - which caused me an issue on what two burgers now to order. I couldn't decide and I was hungry, so I ordered all 3. They gave me the "beeper" and I waited for my to go order. It was clean, but very busy inside and out. If I wanted to eat there, I'd have a hard time finding a spot inside or out to sit at. I finally got my order and they checked the receipt to make sure each item was inside the bag which I appreciated. I got home and went to work on my burgers. All 3 burgers were a little smaller than I expected for the price, but they pack a welcome punch. The Shackburger was standard, but good. The Smoke Shack was very good, though I could probably do without the red pepper bits the next time. The Bacon Cheddar Shack was oozing, but quite good. The fries were sexily good. Though a bit pricey, I would certainly (and will certainly) return here even if I have to stand in a damn line again. Yes, the burgers are smaller and more expensive than, say a diner burger - but burgers from 5 Guys and such are also about the same size. You get what you pay for as far as taste and all, so I really don't mind all that much. The only other burger place in Cross County (and the general area) that aren't an actual restaurant is BGR - but they have slipped to the point where I don't patronize them any longer. Shake Shack is a welcome addition. I hope they open more locations in the area. The staff were generally ok and the place was clean, despite all the people. Located in the middle of the mall (between Sears and Macy's), but on the rear, you could park and come in without ever venturing inside the mall. Though called "Shake" Shack - I didn't order any shakes this visit, but I will be returning here and will the next time. Recommended. read more
