She takes great care of the cabins and always has great suggestions when you ask her about anything local from food to activities. The property is great for walks and there's some horses and donkeys to check out too. Our dogs always feel at home on the ranch. We love to ride ATV trails and Spur of the Moment has trail access. You ride from your front door to anywhere you like in the area, no trailering. On our last trip we brought a side x side and all the great trails permitted our lager machine. All of the meals we ate out we did by riding our machines to and Ann supplied us with maps so we knew where we were going. The trail system has so many local and long distant places to go to it's good for beginners as well as veterans. Last thing that we've always enjoyed is the other guests. The Ranch is not only good to ATV'ers it's VERY horse friendly. On a busy weekend you can have all types of guests and on every trip we've done it's never mattered what you're into, people are just friendly. It's flat out relaxing.

When my broccoli arrived it final time, it was an overheated mash of green; steamed broccoli should retain a small crunch and not be mashed like baby food! While there were many slot machines, a handful of which were new, there were only a couple of card tables both of which were staffed by miserable persons. There is no roulette. One other person mentioned to just make it a day trip to come here but I think it really depends on your interests. This is a really nice resort that would be much more expensive in a more populated location or easier to get to destination. If you don't golf, they have pontoon boats with a captain you can pay for to explore the surrounding river, kayaks, canoes, atv's, and bikes that you can rent, tennis/basketball on site, walking trails, and a really nice pool and hot tub. There's also a spa but we didn't try that. There's a few waterfalls within 20 minutes for some short hikes but we didn't get to see them. It's a beautiful area but relatively small area without much to do outside of the resort. They also have some winter sport options. If you do golf, the 9 hole course is easy and short. It's pretty well maintained, and if you time it right it's pretty cheap. They have an off-peak $19 nine hole rate for Monday's and can also give you clubs to borrow/rent. Food wise they basically have one nice restaurant and one bar restaurant. They both have stuff for the kids, and the food at breakwaters (the bar) was surprisingly good. I'm not a huge boneless wings fan but the sauce was nice and the Cajun seasoned chip shaped fries were great. We also tried the four seasons burger with the salted caramel sauce which was awesome as well as the classic cheese curd side. We finished it off with a shared slice of rich and delicious chocolate sin cake. The bar also has bands on the weekend (ice cream parlor on site also opens up on the weekends) and it gets very busy here with locals, especially for Packers games. Breakfast was boxed probably due to covid. It was just ok with the sort of pre-packaged items you might expect in a continental breakfast minus a waffle/pancake machine. Coffee wasn't great (pre-ground bag style with watery, weak result) and this part of our stay did not match the rest. The room was very comfortable with large beds and plenty of space. Salt water, heated pool was great for the kids and hot tub perfect for adults. Our kids really enjoyed this and we had the whole place to ourselves. I would recommend coming late summer or early fall as we did although winter could be fun too if it's not too cold. We paid a similar price (sub $200) for the comfort inn in Marquette but this is a better value higher level stay.

We were greeted with home made cookies and offered wide range of delicious drinks by Donna, followed by a tour of the house when Donna and Mike shared with us the history of the house, it immediately impressed my husband and I how much they love to host their guests and how much they love the place. They have VERY high standards for themselves on the experience they want their guests to have. They have everything you could ever need on a trip ready for you where/when you need it, Mike even offered me a leg pillow! The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. The next morning, our breakfast was egg ham croissants, rhubarb shortcakes and grapefruits, all sorts of beverages options, and to top it off, each of us were given a piece of freshly baked pastry for our long drive back to Chicago.
